I am fondly sad of the starters for this Generation, I mean in Generation V there was Tepig, who strongly resembled a Pig, and in this Generation the Pokemon's first/beginning letters of its name resemble the pokemon's Real Life animal, as in Fennekin looks like a Fox, Froakie looks like a Frog, and Chespin looks like a Chipmunk

Treecko is the most bad ass grass type starter ever. I think that is the only time I ever chose a grass type as a starter. The current grass starter looks like it needs to be a normal/ground type. Only looks like a beaver with a hood.

That fox makes me sad. They intent on replacing vulpix :( nintails was so fluffy <3

There are already like 3 frogs in the game. Polytoad, croagunk, toxicroak

I wish the pokemon were more creative or rather different animals than we have seen already. Is there a koala or panda looking one? Growlith/Archinane are close to tigers, what about a lion or cheetah, a rino, hell even some more dino pokemon like aerodactyl. Main problem I have with current gen poke's is that they seem to be trying to replace the old which is the ones I have memories of.

There are only so many animals they can base pokemon off of, not to mention someone posted a bit of factoids about pokemon starters, each generation being based off of this and that.

Also, it's a god damn cloud frog. I really like the design, very mystic and wise. Reminds me somewhat of this guy:

I don't like the fire starter Pokemon. They have relied too much on dog designs in the recent additions. I used to appreciate how Eevee was really the only dog-like Pokemon, but you could evolve it through stones to vast differences. Speaking of which, they don't really seem to keep up with that tradition anymore either, there are so few.
