Actually using their own currency for XBL lets Microsoft confuse customers by not giving a straightforward price.
I have like 90 MS points I cant spend because nothing is that cheap so basically Microsoft is sitting on my money.

Nearly everything else in the pros PSN has also. They also dont charge you a fee to use services you're already paying a fee for. I dont use Netflix or Hulu anyway so it doesn't bother me.

The fact that it costs money is a con yet the opposing service can do almost all the pros for free makes that list look pretty bad.

Well then that's that. :3 Some people like me just prefer Xbox Live, because they've been using it since the big bang and the feel safe.

Like I said I've been using XbL for years now I just don't see anything advantageous about paying for it.

90 ms is enough to get a cool avatar item and/or themes and such little things. What is that anyways like a dollar?

This is their plan. "What's that like, a dollar?" is the sort of attitude that gets them money. You buy a card for 1600 microsoft points... and that's enough to buy a game that costs 1200 microsoft points. Now you have 400 points left... but there's another cool game that costs 500 points. You're 100 points short, but the only way to get that 100 points is to buy another card way above what you actually need.

It's not like Microsoft are the only ones to do that though. Even Sony does it via only allowing you to buy $5 increments or something.

That's seen in pretty much every online currency system, anyway. Though, on League of Legends, if you're a dollar or so shy of being able to purchase something with Riot Points, they'll actually credit you the RP you need if you send them a support ticket. They only do this once per customer, I believe.
