Its fairly obvious here, the PlayStation will come back. And even the WiiU will beat the XBOX One, because no one likes a cable box with voice control.

Not really. We can bitch all we want but most of the people looking to buy a console don't watch the press conference and don't have the same expectations. Out of my friends who play games the majority don't even know what DRM is. The XBox isn't dead until we see how sales come out.

I agree with you about the voice control. I could give less of a ****. I can just turn the Xbox on and off by touching it from like 6 feet away. I can also just switch between programs myself without it taking very long. I want to know what they can do so much more with these new processors or whatever. If it's just graphics I'm sticking with the 360.

This is exactly why PC gaming is superior.

He's actually on point there... On average hardcore gaming such as COD, players tend to spend more hours on Call of Duty on steam rather than Xbox version.

That doesn't make it better. Everyone has their preference though. I hate PC gaming because the controls feel unnatural (as in I prefer a controller), having the right computer to run the game to it's maximum potential, I like playing on a bigger screen, etc.

You can easily plug in an Xbox 360 controller to a PC, and also use an HDMI cable to play games on your television. Its not that hard to find a good computer to run games decently.... it just takes a little bit of knowledge. And in the long term, its actually a lot cheaper. Not to mention that Steam is far more sophisticated than Xbox Live has ever been.

I game on my ****ty PC, my 360, and my PS3. PCs can't replace consoles imo, and it's not because they're worse or anything. It's just not the same, a console vs PC invokes different feelings. I do game a lot of my PC, but I probably game just as much on my 360. I can hop on my 360 and sit down and family can watch, or jump in and it's just a nice, simple experience.

PC gaming is a bit more complex, and even when you hook it up to your TV(which I have done) it's still not the same. To use a controller for most games would defeat a large purpose of PC gaming, especially with online gaming where a keyboard/mouse will have an advantage. Then there's hardware and software issues, drivers and ****. I don't HATE PC gaming, in fact I enjoy it quite a lot... but they are two completely different experiences in my opinion and I hope one never replaces the other.

PC gaming feels like such a nicer gaming experience for me. There are a lot of PC-exclusive games like League of Legends, Guild Wars 2, WoW, Runescape, etc. that I love a lot more than the console-exclusive games. Mind you, I was a huge Halo player (had 4 50/General accounts in Halo 3 which is no small feat) and got to Reclaimer in Reach before I stopped playing consoles altogether. I just like PC communities much better (no more profane, screaming 12-year-olds in CoD yay) and I feel Steam is superior to Xbox Live and PSN in almost every way. There are times where I miss the pre-Reach Halo 3 days, but after I switched to PC, I'm glad I did.

Dusty 05-28-2013 05:53 AM

Steam is awesome. But in my opinion consoles vs PC is an apple to oranges kind of thing.

Furryamigo 05-28-2013 06:49 AM

I am a PC gamer, but since my pc cant handle any of the new games anymore, I have been playing my Xbox more. I was seriouslly put off by this conference though. If xboxone doesn't have exclusive release games that blow me away, then I am switching to the ps4 or the steam box.
