If this is all that's being talked about make a new thread, this is misleading and annoying. Either discuss something that people want to read or get off of the forum. This goes to anyone who feels the need to puff their chest out through text, I don't care who you are.

"GST Predictions"
... GST...
GST....
spar...

yep, sorry, this is a spar thread, so there will be thread derailing, trash talk, flaming, and complaining. Thats just how this forum runs ):

Fulgore 05-24-2014 04:11 AM

It's unrelated, dramatic, political, excessive, and flat out ridiculous. I'm simply trying to stop it. Back to the GST comments, if I may.

Wow, never gave this forum a chance, have to say I gained (and lost) alot of respect for different players.

Thallen, I think you may be underestimated Apostles a bit. I would agree saying sure, Apostles team was sloppily put together. However, with proper chemistry and teamwork I'd say the team definitely has potential.

OOna more related topic, Deity has the best chance of taking this seasons belt in my opinion. Not only are they all good sparrers alone, but their teamwork and coordination leads to a killer outcome.

Threads like this bring the spar kids out of the shadows

I personally wouldn't count Apostles out, just because they lost one sparrer doesn't mean their entire group will fail. I mean they have a really solid team, in addition to that why do you think we have subs because stuff like this always happens at GST.
Anyway my GST Predictions for iDevice= Alumni or VDragz. I don't think 5pa4 will do as good as last time, the only reason I think they done so good was because they were new and fresh so nobody knew anything about them so when we saw a team like that we had no idea how they would spar but now we do.
For Mixed I wouldn't count Alumni as MAJOR competition as one of the Alumni members I will not mention any names because I don't want a huge rant to happen but when I asked them about the weakness for Alumni he replied "If you're talking about their mixed team I wouldn't count too much on it, Thallen would just get players from UN that have absolutely no chemistry and put them all onto one team. I mean Male is just a waste of a spot himself" I don't mean any disrespect but he does have a point, Alumni's iDev team is sucessful because their CHemistry is amazing but their mixed teams chemistry isn't so I wouldn't count them as finalists however Deity vs Apostles would seem like a fair do in the finals. I wouldn't count SLX at the finals probably at the semi-finals because last GST well we didn't know what to expect from SLX I personally thought that it was just another good guild from UN trying to make it big on iClassic, well I was surprised on how good they were last GST and they should've won it but now I think everyone is prepared to take on SLX, in addition to that they practice alot last GST but I not that much this GST.

Gotta paragraph that wall o' text Kuz. I think Thallen is recruiting people "last minute" because 2 of his cores got banned or something iirc, which sucks. Would otherwise be a bit hypocritical of him to recruit haphazardly seeing as he kinda speaks out against it on here.

I haven't played UN actively for over 6 years (and never will again), and I talk to Male every single day on Skype or Kik, and I've never done anything that you've mentioned in this post before, and Male isn't from UN, and Male isn't even on our GST team, so whoever you're talking to is either trolling you or is clueless, or you just made that up for the sake of having something to talk about, not sure

only person on Alumni roster who hasn't been in one of our subs or affiliated with the guild in some way for 2+ months is Eko, and he isn't even doing the GST

Alumni never has a full Mixed team because the majority of the players have other priorities or we are crippled by bans, it has nothing to do with chemistry, what, it's pretty simple
there are a small list of players who I'd recruit for the GST, and the only scenario where I'd even consider doing that is when I'm forced to either do that or screw my friends out of playing in the tournament

if someone like Paeirus, MK, Dante, Shiden, Aserus, or anyone of with that sort of personality and attitude would ask and I'm in a situation where I am forced to add someone or miss the GST, I'd gladly allow them
I have passed and always will pass on people like Prime, Inco, Noss, Yurhomi, etc. - reasons should be quite obvious, despite them being good sparrers

As you can see I quoted it, I did not personally say that but I think in GST it comes down to chemistry not just 5 good solo sparrers who have never sparred before that's where I PERSONALLY think the downfall for Alumni's mixed team is. However your iDev team is strong since they always practice and have been together for a while that's why they'll probably win.

The entire thread is about GST Predictions and I predicted that Deity/Apostles would do better than Alumni just due to the fact Alumni's superior at iDevice than Mixed, maybe if Alumni's iDevice team came to mixed then their odds of winning might increase but I guess not.

Also Zet, I remember last GST SLX was preparing like weeks in advance, Twiz only came back yesterday that's the only time they got a full core team training session that is what I am basing SLX's Run in GST on.

Demrow 05-24-2014 04:25 PM

To be honest we've sparred Deity, Alumni, Apostles and it's always back and forth. Alumni with abood, and sar with their huge delay make playing against them a little difficult. Deity has a couple delayers also, most noteably Dae. Apostles has been the best to go up against, and have the better team in my opinion out of the other two guilds. With our full team I'd rank it SLX, Apostles, Deity, Alumni (Delaying is not a skill).

Colin 05-24-2014 04:31 PM

I think a random guild nobody knows about is going to win.

I'm not going into detail on this, as Dae is the only delay we have, but regardless I think the reason delay is a large factor in gs is the fact that 95% of people can't adequately adapt to it, so they get hit, they lose, then complain, etc. Additionally, the chemistry factor applies only in certain scenarios. If your plan is to just send one person on your team after one on theirs, and they let you, then a bunch of random good sparrers is fine. The problem occurs when you try that and the other team just piles one, leaves one for last, etc. My final point: It's literally impossible to practice efficiently for the GST because each player would need to open 9 tabs and download Skyrim or something to match the lag that happens there.

Thallen 05-24-2014 07:27 PM

if you're complaining about people lagging and delaying already then you just probably just skip the GST
good luck
