Just finished reading through this and I have to ask why try to bring it back? You come showing off a couple of generic screenshots and then say you have plans to make it pokemon themed with pet battles. Right now this just sounds like a real cheap attempt for someone to try and relive their glory days by dropping a name of an old server.

Ok I'm sorry but enough is enough -_-. To all of you that are complaining about Doomsday being back/those that really don't know Doomsday and are bashing it. Just stop please. Unless you want to help out, then just shut up about it, seriously. None of this is even called for. So how about we get back on topic of what this thread is for. Advertisement/hirings. If you're interested working for Doomsday, Just come on the server Dev MidnightChillX or contact someone that works on the server such as Midnight, Stowen, Hell Raven, or myself.

Advice.
Do something different. Make the game Graal, but it doesn't feel like you are playing Graal. That would capture something amazing in the players, making your server stand out.
As it is, I could care less about it. But keep my words in mind.

Our pet system will be a big feature for players. They will be able to capture other pet's instead of simply buying them. Also train them, level them and evolve them, and battle other player's pets. There will also be events for pets, just like there are events for players. Players will be able to pick the pet they wish to have participate in the event and play as their pet.

We also have a gmapped sparring arena to have a much better/cleaner design, instead of trying to cram everything into one level. I know what everyone is thinking, lag. We've got that covered! When two players enter the spar and they both say start to begin the spar, they will be warped into another level with only the spar pit area. Though players will be able to see the spar go on, because we will have something like Unholy Nation's tourney viewer, except for every spar. This is an idea I've had for a long time.

Also we are going to try to have a UDP system for Doomsday which players will be able to download and have run along side Graal. Since Stefan/Unix doesn't want to implement UDP back to Graal, we will do it for the sparrers that have left Graal with V6, mainly UN. I am also trying to come up with a concept for PKing. PKing was a huge part of old Graal and is just flat out fun when you get a large group of players involved, so I do want to bring that aspect of Graal back to life.

Our server will also be based around events and hat collection since hats seem to be a big thing among classic servers.

Our tileset is close to being entirely complete. Our pet system's battling section is functioning and Blah64 is working hard on the rest. All of the general attacks are listed and detailed. We have the graphics for our first pet 95% finished and once our tileset guy (Alex) is finished with our tileset, he will be starting on more, along with Unknown. We plan on having a wide range of pets for the community, which is why we are going especially hard to find GFXers. I also have a pretty decent part of re-designing the overworld complete, and Trimaster, Ekflight and myself are still going hard and won't stop until it's finished.

So Classic, with Pokemon.

How is name dropping a server that shut down in 2004 going to automatically achieve anything? Especially considering 90% of player started Graal in 2006 or later. Bringing back an old server (if done right, anyway) you have to redo pretty much, EVERYTHING. It is just as, if not more difficult than creating a server from scratch. Yes, walking around Doomsday does bring back GREAT memories from my childhood, but that isn't my only reason for bringing it back. And to many players, this is a new server. The history of Doomsday means nothing to 90% of Graal players because they don't know what it is. It IS basically a fresh start. Though I do want players to be able to enjoy the server you and I did. I want to bring a server that was brought down with some life still left in it. Anyone who remembers Doomsday knows it was shut down with a 30 playercount... Though back then, that was like a 10 playercount now.

I also mentioned that our tileset isn't complete so the screen shots right now will be very vague, since it doesn't pay to detail an overworld just to re-detail it again when our grass tiles are finished. Plus we are less than a month into development and I think we have gotten pretty far in that time, and I have also set up LAT's with MUCH less work to be done. Pathing finished, and literally all they need to do is fill in the blanks, level by level. Not construct a foundation, since I have already done that while waiting for the tileset.
