there is definitely a connection between age and maturity, so anyone trying to dismiss that idea entirely is just insane - however, obviously it isn't as black and white as "older people are more mature"

I wouldn't mind a required age minimum of 16, although it would be literally impossible so this entire thread is a pipe dream

A few years ago there was a new staff member that was acted like an 18-20 year old but was 12. It was surprising at how mature he was for his age.

There was also a new staff member that was (I think) 20 but acted like he was 10. There's actually a lot of people I can think of that don't act their age when they should to this day.

It's not about age but about how they act. Even if there was an age limit, you'd still get staff that acted like they were 12. So no, I don't think there should be an age limit. These days, there's a lot of people that don't act their age and you can't always rely on how old someone is to judge how mature they are.
