Oh my goodness, that feel whenever you perfectly time chopping down a tree as villager and K.O. all 3 other players at the same time

Jester Lapse 10-03-2014 08:56 PM

For all you scrubs that got SSB and want to battle other Graalians, I made a page for everyone to post their friend codes and request challengers. Would be cool to have a tourny later on when people get good

Fox's English voice sounds like a humongous nerd.

CM 10-04-2014 03:40 AM

Just got the game about an hour ago - so hyped to start playing!

Sup3rn00b 10-04-2014 04:48 AM

Still choosing a main, thinking of zero samus. She's so dang fast, hits decently hard too.

Ramaz 10-04-2014 05:17 AM

Games so amazing. I think I'm going to main as Shulk
or Meta Knighy

Sup3rn00b 10-04-2014 06:34 AM

Guys can someone please tell me what's with greninja's 32nd audio file?
"NO."

CM 10-04-2014 07:21 AM

Probably going to go with Villager as my main and Koopa Jr. as my secondary main (once I unlock him).

Enjoying it so far, spent a few hours playing with it. Rip social life.

Sup3rn00b 10-05-2014 01:57 AM

Hey guys guess who's trying to main greninja?

Also I found out why greninja says "NO."

Never was going to main villager, I just liked how he lookes : )

I love the way greninja plays tho.

CM 10-05-2014 04:56 PM

Hey guys, if anyone is up for a battle feel free to PM me with your FC and I'll send mine back so we can friend each other. I know there's a Facebook page for it but I have no intentions of making a FB account anytime soon so yeah

GotenGraal 10-06-2014 03:20 PM

They have Live & Learn from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle lol which is sweet. And the game is fine on the 3ds xl, although it occasionally feels a little cramped so I wouldn't recommend on anything but the xl.

Talon 10-06-2014 03:25 PM

Live and Learn, the memories. I loved all of the Crush 40 songs Sonic had.

Vivid 10-06-2014 04:00 PM

So what characters are you guys looking forward to

5hift 10-06-2014 07:33 PM

So... No Snake?

...

Yeah, I'm sold.

The games already out

Sup3rn00b 10-07-2014 02:43 AM

Zero Suit is really fun to play.

Also kinda unrelated but am I the only one who thinks Midna would be a really cool LoZ rep?

Talon 10-07-2014 03:14 AM

if you're not lucario, you're losing

Pimpsy G. 10-07-2014 03:55 AM

Is it weird that my favorite part of online is the spectating mode? Its so fun to bet on players with gold and root them on.

Sup3rn00b 10-07-2014 04:36 AM

News flash:

I'm horrible at smash.

Jester Lapse 10-07-2014 04:36 AM

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS has sold more than 2.8 million worldwide

GotenGraal 10-07-2014 03:52 PM

Have you guys tried cruel smash? Now that's a challenge lol

Tyler 10-07-2014 04:25 PM

Wow. November 21st for the Wii U is earlier than I expected. I thought that it would be released around Christmas. How many here are getting it for the Wii U? I can't wait to use Gamecube controllers again for it.

GotenGraal 10-07-2014 05:04 PM

I'm gonna get it for the Wii U too but does anyone know what the differences are? I didn't look into it really. I mean obviously graphics but is there anything else?

Different stages, different exclusive modes (3DS has smash run, Wii U's isn't announced yet) different control options (Gamecube controller adapter!!)

Well honestly there's huge differences, obviously the screen controller. From what I've heard the Wii U currently has an internal memory of about 1.5 GB while the regular Wii from Nintendo has about 512 MB, almost half as less as the New Wii. The new improved disk drive runs on Blue Ray Tech, but does not support DVD currently. The mobile controller allows you to play wii games without the actual T.V./Monitor.

Although The new Wii is a follow up of the Original, the Wii U does offer more options and updates for Games :)

I'm going to be doing nothing but sm4sh when it comes out on wiiu cause of DAT GAMECUBE REMOTE. If only the adapter would allow actual gamecube remotes then i could whip out my ol ghetto remote that i have been playing smash bros and gamecube on for 13 years.

Fulgore 10-09-2014 03:18 PM

I'll be playing on the Wii U. Still no L-canceling or wavedashing in this one unfortunately. The new edge grab mechanic will be fun to stratagize around this time! Are recovery times still slow or are they quicker for a more fast paced style? (to anyone who has played or seen much gameplay)

Jester Lapse 10-09-2014 08:59 PM

they are quicker than brawl

CM 10-10-2014 02:21 PM

I've started using Yoshi, and now that he stands upright he's actually pretty good. The only downfall he has is that he doesn't have much of a recovery move other than his super high doublr jump and his horizontal egg roll.

Many people are saying Yoshi is going to end up in the high tiers (A, A-, etc.) What so you guys think?

Pimpsy G. 10-10-2014 04:56 PM

Ugh, there's so many people online that have perfect reaction times, if they find one opening in what you do they open up this giant combo and screw you up. Its so nerve wracking, having to play against these people that are so fine tuned to their character. My mind just can't process all this insanely fast frame by frame information this quickly and plan these elaborate combos, defensive moves and strategies all in less than a second.

Its like playing chess, only each move takes less than a second. Ugh.

Which fighter do you use?

My fix is I join custom only games and use defensive items with my fighters. You just gotta remember to use your shield when you can and do smash runs and classic runs for customization items, they'll save your life in real competitive matches.

A part of me wants it to be a more open-world focused version of smash run with more diversity in how the maze works and combat.

Btw for anyone who plays it a decent bit, is anyone else pissed off by the damn head-grabbing metroids? I can't kill them with any fighter and evading them is difficult af.

Pimpsy G. 10-11-2014 07:03 AM

I thought I was doing good in for glory
won 10 matches in a row
Then I got wrecked a ****load of times
Now I don't feel like hot stuff

This is the current Japanese tier list for SSB4. I'm pretty surprised to see where many characters have placed.

This is why I've never liked tiers.

You make people think one character is the best, less people choose mains by what feels good to them, and start picking what a list told them to.

Meh, I'm still sticking with Villager and Koopa Jr. as my mains, same with Zelda. The only high-tier character I'm using is Yoshi, and I with as using him before this list was released.

I wouldn't use tier lists as a guideline of who to main and if you should abandon your man, but I think they do give a pretty good picture of relative strength in a current meta as well as how characters rank at the highest levels of competitive play. It's still more important to play what you're most comfortable with and what you know best, as opposed to what tiers are saying. Just like League, it's better to know a C-tier champion inside and out than to be mediocre with an A-tier champion (lol @ people who sucked at IC/Olimar but played them because they were "OP" and countered MK). But if I'm against people with the same skill level as me on an A-tier champ and I know how to play the A-tier champs, I'm going to be playing the A-tier champs, even if I feel more comfortable on a C-tier champ.

Back in Brawl, I mained Lucario in casual and low-level play, but when I played against people better than me and knew how to capitalize on Lucario's inherent flaws, I had to start learning metapicks like METAKnight else I'd usually just be outclassed. Same deal with League; in professional play, Scarra (one of the greatest Katarina players in the world, famous for maining her extensively), never picks Katarina in tournaments because she's just not as good as higher-tiered champs.

I mainly posted the tiers just so everyone could get an idea of how each player works and to see where they placed respectively. Many of my mains are in the C-tier (I'm even attempting to main Samus, who is in the E-tier) and that's perfectly fine with me. I'm going to continue to main Villager because I can easily beat Rosalinas, Yoshis, and Zero Suit on For Glory play.

For those of you who wanted to see Ridley and Mewtwo in the New Super Smash Bros.,

Please Understand.

They might make an appearance in the Wii U...

Vladamir Blackthorne 10-14-2014 02:05 AM

Is it possible to play with no items on a final destination version of a stage in For Fun mode? I don't like items and oddball gimmicky stages but I like customizing my charachter to a degree...

Tyler 10-14-2014 04:39 PM

Is there really a 1v1 online game mode for this game? That would be the best.

Yes, it's in For Glory. You each have 2 lives, and its 5 min/match.
