In my opinion, the game has gotten worse since the warping feature has been added, or maybe I am just noticing the games lag now....

Ya, the idle warping is causing the lag, not the 20-minute event that Coco just hosted that had everyone running through every level on the server and mass PKing

I wish they would actually fix the problem vs making gameplay worse...

The thing is, wherever there are a lot of people, that's where the rest will want to be. It is a social game after all. Maybe the level design is just bad then?

How can you move 2/3 of graal city to other locations? Once Destiny died out, everyone just went back to the city.

You have to give the other areas a sense of purpose.

Farming crops at destiny. Finishing Destiny...
Would it be that bad if they moved the gs arenas to Belle? Was at swamp before, I wouldn't mind.(Giving actual guild spar stats for others to see)
Putting more repeatable quests around the map, ex. Witch asking you for x amount of bugs that are currently available around the map.

Thank you Coco! For making the game crash to find you for a silly mount. Two days straight admin has been hosting Hide & Seek, it's like they doing this on purpose.

It's ok to be jealous of my super cute, rainbow spitting unicorn mount. :)

The 'problem' is not that simple to fix. Based on what I've seen getting the server moved should help from a networking stand point but it's not the be-all and end-all fix for the issues we're facing.

Anyone familiar with the server moves of the past know how much can go wrong, especially when the one with a huge chunk of the knowledge has left the company.

Hardware-wise I'm not sure how much we can truly scale up anymore so we have to develop new methods to scale out (e.g. instancing / separate servers) while keeping the game experience seamless as possible but these would require changes the server software itself and decentralizing systems and databases that weren't designed with that in mind.

I'm hoping when a 'new Stefan' comes along I (and other notable devs) can help influence these changes and get more functionality built-in rather than kludged on top in GS2.

I'm a mobile dev for a company so I have a lot of experience with the complications.

Graals problem is it's having major growing pains and with the departure of Stefan (AT A REALLY BAD FRIGGIN TIME I WILL ADD) it seems no one really has the authority to go in and mitigate the issues. There really isn't a plan for scaling at this level...

I do feel strongly that as things have been growing, a lot of features have been taken away and has actually hurt gameplay (example level phasing) vs actually improving the experience.

There are solutions but this game needs someone with experience that can go in and get their hands dirty to make a difference.

Also the app hasn't been updated in over a year since Stefan being let go, big indicator of issues :(

TLDR - Graal needs a lead dev again, it's hurting/holding the game back big time.

As a senior dev these are my steps when looking for a job when looking at that listing:

1. OOO small company and MMO - that can be fun but a lot of work
2. Hmmmm no listing of compensation but that can be normal...
3. Asking for a lot...
4. Nothing about company culture...
5. What is toonslab?
6. Google search... oh...
7. Oh look at all these other listings for a very demanding list of qualifications and more established companies that actually have a website with some information

I think you have to look at it from a "never been a senior dev"'s pov. You gotta start somewhere right? Maybe someone who wants even more experience will go along and apply.
