Why don't they use the pokemon sprites from the 3D Pokedex? The sprites look the same on this.

What "sprites" are you talking about? As far as I'm aware the pokemon in the battles are not sprites, but cel-shaded 3D models.

They are really running out of ideas for names. Pokemon X and Y? Seriously? I know they've made lots of Pokemon games but at least put some effort into naming them. I swear the last Pokemon game will be called Pokemon Coal...

No, the X, Y is intended due to the three dimenisons, up and down (Y), left and right(X), and forwards and backwards (Z).

Look at the DNA shaped symbol on the Japanese titles and refine your answer.

I think it's pretty cool. It's based off of a fennec fox, which they haven't used yet.
