I agree with this thread, most GST hats have been ugly starting about a year ago.

I understand it's hard to make 6 good hats but it'd be nice to see 2-3 good hats every tournament because 1st place and 2nd place guilds deserve to receive something nice. It would also be nice to see a balance in good hats between both tournaments because this GST and last GST had all ugly hats for the mixed side.

Heres an idea: Stop putting huge helmets as prize because no one likes or is gonna pick them.

And GJ to whoever made the airplane wings in iDev hats, they're very original

So to summarize, you are claiming that the GFX staff are being held back by the rest of the staff team, because the rest of the staff team are not doing their part in giving you suitable content to create graphics for?

GST hats are not content, they're hats. I could give you a bunch of reasons why this is but I really don't like pointing the finger at people being all like 'They told us to do this!' and all that.

What I will tell you though, is that we follow a guideline set by others on how GST hats are preferred. And posted in that other thread, we simply do get burnt out. It's pretty difficult to make solid hats when tbh you're lacking inspiration/motivation and trying to avoid elements used in past hats. (coloured wings, anyone?)

While there are ways to resolve this, I believe we simply don't care that much anymore. Some of the team have put up with the same negativity about the hats for over a year now, and knowing this community any change is negative, so why bother? Don't get me wrong that plane wings hat is great, but we'd never even think that was acceptable as a GST hat cuz we were told not to.

No offense to you Admiral but that statement just says it all. Why have people that don't even care about the GST hats make the hats. Yami clearly cares about the GST hats and participates in the GSTs no wonder his hat came out the best because he was motivated to do it. Well what i'm saying is don't let random people who don't even take the GST hat serious even make the hat. GST is the where the server reaches its peak. It's really disappointing knowing that is the mind set of the staff to their players.

The fact you guys don't think something original is acceptable and have a guideline (which by the way seems really bad looking back at the hats from the past year) I wouldn't be surprised if we had another year of **** GST hats.

Ya tbh i've thought about it quite a bit today and you're right definitely, there's a lot of different perspectives on this which are all justified in some way but one thing for sure is the players who actively care, even if it is hats, shouldn't be made to suffer

Preferred by who? An small minority of admins that will probably not enter the GST so they have absolutely 0 motivation to make a halfway decent prize for it?
I'm also assuming "others" isn't used in terms of players because as we've seen in this thread/in general, the overwhelming majority of us really dislike the hats.

so the gfx team is told to make disgusting hats by some guy in charge? staff are not even making an effort to ask the players who actually stand a chance of winning their hats what they would like to see. my fellow multi-gst champions and i have never even been asked what hats we think look good.

side note: don't ask me for my opinion after this, i don't wear 'em anyways i just win 'em.

Only thing to make that line even more badass is to have a power rangers explosion in the background!

Why are event hats and normal hat sops way better looking than the GST hats.

Why not just do it like towering: the leader can choose a community-made hat to be uploaded. Simple.

Sheesh...if you really hate those hats then maybe you can try asking the Admins to give your hats to the runner-up or something...someone would get happy i guees...

And this will totally defeat the point of winning GST. This would never happen. They would rather have a poor hat than no hat.
