Got it. Its beautiful. Finally got a game that actually works out of the box!
No matter what anyone says, Nintendo still has it

Tyler 11-21-2014 10:06 PM

I decided I'm just going to get Smash Bros. for Christmas and get Pokemon now. I won't have too much time to play it anyways with finals coming up.

Sup3rn00b 11-22-2014 06:31 PM

AAAAAAAAAAAAA I can finally enjoy Rosie my wife, in delicious HD.

Fulgore 11-22-2014 07:20 PM

10/10, my serious opinion.

Pimpsy G. 11-22-2014 08:15 PM

Eh, I might sell this. I think I've learned to just try and stay away from any competitive games. Not sure why I bought this after simply just getting frustrated with the 3DS version. I just don't have the focus to be able to compete with people online since the skill bar is usually so crazy high its not worth the huge amount of dedication and time of grueling practice to get there.

You can't give up on it that quickly. I've personally never seen any gameplay for the online of either the 3DS/Wii U version so which mode is the one you've been doing?

1vs1 for glory. And it hasn't been quickly, I've been practicing with the 3DS version for the past few months and its basically the exact same gameplay as the Wii U one.

Then I guess I'm confused why you purchased the Wii U version if you were frustrated with the 3DS version when they have the exact same gameplay.

I bought into the hype and just wanted a new game for my Wii U since there hasn't really been much since Mario Kart 8 outside of a zelda spinoff and that bayonetta game I don't care about

I agree. The Wii U is a great system, but big games releases fall a little short compared to Xbox and Playstation. I'm really excited to try this game over winter break though.

Sup3rn00b 11-23-2014 02:50 AM

Many people play for glory and feel down because their skills didn't suffice. (Kinda like me.)

Don't give up on it that quickly. Play some for fun smash, it's much less of a hardcore atmosphere.

CM 11-23-2014 01:29 PM

I wish there was a 1v1 For Fun mode :(

Fysez 11-24-2014 05:28 PM

I got SSB on WiiU yesterday. Actually, I purchased a WiiU JUST for SSB Haha.

It's very fun, but I have a hard time getting over the fact that you cannot play 2v2 with a partner from a different system. Ridiculous you can't, actually.

And there are many lag points completely freezing you and everyone else from moving at all, which I hate.
The game is fun though.

Add me on WiiU: FyseVizeVerza

Can you do 2vs2 with someone online using the same Wii U console?

Sorry I asked. I still can't find anything, but I guess I'll know when I get the game around Christmas.

Yes. Your options are Free for All (1v1v1v1) or Teams. Teams is 2v2, but that second person on your team can ONLY be on the same system.

This game is much nicer on the Wii U than the 3DS, although I would attribute my dislike for the 3DS version since I have the smaller first model so the controls feel really cramped.

Sup3rn00b 11-26-2014 01:24 AM

Anyone else been playing much Zelda? She's really fun to play as in this game.

Sardon 11-26-2014 03:44 AM

Lucas can always be a skin for Ness... Sort of like they did with Bowser Jr. and Olimar's skins...

You should care about bayonetta. For 60$ you get the new one And The first one. Also its a big deal when nintendo made a deal with playboy.

Also idgaf what yall say. But duck hunt is love. Duck hunt is life. Dunk hunt rekts all

Pimpsy G. 11-28-2014 03:36 AM

Man I gotta stop being a sore looser about things. (I got all upset a few days ago and said I was probably going to sell the game since I couldn't compete online at the time) but now in Smash Bros my win rate in For Glory 1vs1 is 55%, while on 3DS it was 20%. Either something is different about 3DS' online or I've just gotten better with practice. But yeah I seriously just need to learn to stop bitching whenever I loose a bunch of games in a row.

Maybe I'm still being a sore looser and the only reason I'm willing to say this is because I'm winning now... ****

I think that feeling is normal honestly. Losing multiple times can be very discouraging. God only knows how many things I blamed for my losses when I was angry and discouraged.

Ghettoicedtea 11-28-2014 07:19 PM

If you lose a bunch of games in a row. I recommend you stop playing online, get offline and play vs bots. If you can beat a lvl9 bot on a 1on1 no items and winning only losing 1 out of 3 lifes. Then you will be roflstomping on most people online.

Vacci 11-29-2014 04:41 AM

With Smash, and many other competitive games, you gotta be a little unpredictable. If you ever catch yourself doing the same thing over and over and over and it's never working, try a new approach.

Other tips:
Learn everything you can about your main (fast attacks, things that can kill easily, etc.)
Stop rolling so much, good players will know how to punish that easily.

Also, Jiggs is so fun to play, that reaction everyone has when I land rest is so satisfying

Sup3rn00b 11-29-2014 05:24 PM

When friends are rolling too much, I down smash. Works every time.

Depends on the character. With some people its just faster to turn around and do a simple fast A attack. Gannon is a good example of that. Whats better than a down smash though easily is the spin attack on sword mii and link.

Sup3rn00b 11-30-2014 05:23 AM

All of my friends hate me when I play smash. They get really annoyed when I attack them off stage.

Vacci 11-30-2014 05:48 AM

But Smash 4 has the best off stage game since you can't edge hog anymore. Their fault for not doing the same to you.

Lol my friends cannot stand me because i mastered arial combat so when they are in the air. They are screwed

Sup3rn00b 11-30-2014 10:38 PM

I love tricking opponents into countering, then punishing with a bowser back air. Killed my friend's Marth at around 65-ish

Vacci 12-01-2014 04:21 AM

I tried duck hunt dog today but I can't get the hang of using the can fully. I've been trying to attack the can itself a lot to make it move forward faster lol

The can is only good for those ALOOSNACKBAR moments where someon is dashing right at ya, hit the can it will blow up in their face. Everyonce and a while ypurs too. Its also great for getting rid of edge campers. Just launch it in the air and drop it on the edge. They will move outta the way.

Tyler 12-13-2014 03:25 PM

This really sucks. I was planning on picking up the bundle for Super Smash Bros. today and they're sold out everywhere and are double the price online. Then I figured I'd just buy the adapter separately and that's sold out everywhere and above tripled in price online.

Ghettoicedtea 12-13-2014 10:23 PM

Adapter isnt really werf imo. Its really only good for get together with friends and playing on the TV. but i learned to play the wii pad. Its much more versitale. Just change the ZR button to shield and all should be good.

I really wanted to play with it though. They call the Wii U a "family" game console, but the Gamepad ruined that title. I could play it on the Gamepad, but then my sister would be stuck with a Wii controller or vice versa. I thought they would be back in stock today, but Nintendo is doing this pointless bundle of 4 controllers + adapter + game adding $40 with an extra 3 controllers which isn't bad, but I don't need 3 more controllers. I really hope they're back in stock before Christmas so that those greedy online stores can't price it that much anymore.

Ghettoicedtea 12-15-2014 04:19 PM

Oh dont worry they will be in stock for xmas. The wiiu pad tho is great. So our fam going to florida road trip for xmas. So me my sis and 2 cousins wanna play smash in the car. We did a small roadtrip to columbia MO to pick up our cousin from mizzou. So we hooked up the wiiu to the dvd player, she had a pro controller, i sat in shotgun, the rest in the back. We could all play smash, it was great.

thats kinda impractical to most situations but seems like it worked great for that one.

I got Smash Bros. on the Wii U but... Is there a way to have multiple save files? My sister and I don't like sharing the same one.

How much does a 3DS go for at a pawn shop? Anyone know? I really want one but they are too pricey for me at retail.
