I think I speak for everyone when I say that we are all surprised for the Mixed GST Results. I'm pretty sure everyone expected BDB to win. But it's good seeing a fresh group of underdogs win mixed GST. Nobody saw it coming.

Can relate to both sides of the argument here, but personally believe that if both players die, it should be a tie, and that regular spar/regular guild spar should be modified to reflect that.

IRL, if two people are having a duel to the death using bow and arrows, and they both manage to hit each other, but one gets hit a half of a second ahead of the other one, but they both die, I think you'd pretty obviously call that a draw, no? Not that one dude won because he survived a half second longer. It's the same idea.

Also, it otherwise gives an advantage to people who lag, as the person with the better connection is more likely (not always, but more likely) to die first.

On a side note, congrats to deity on the mixed win. Great job with holding lines, being patient, and controlling space. Felt that made the difference in our match against them, we (Blackout) were more just a bunch of individuals all doing our own thing and they had strategy and solid teamwork.

Agreed, I think there needs to be a full second pause before determining the winner of a spar so that we have some sort of compensation for delay

I don't know who you are but the player's name said "shiden" so I referred to them as shiden, they were an idev player and had a 15k-3.5k spar record. It could have been anyone else but it wouldn't matter, it doesn't change the point

Agree on all of this, and also wanna comment on that last paragraph especially. I was quite active 2-3 weeks prior to the GST, I watched/participated in alot of GSing both at Belle and in the Arena and Deity definitely practiced more than most in my opinion. More than Blackout, WAR or SLX from what I saw (but not BDB!). Thallen and Eko started practicing with them a bit later on but as a whole they put in alot of time and I think more teams need to do that if they want to end up past the semi's!

and probably 1/3+ of my losses = loss by 0.5 due to delay.

Ya, also just experienced this. Told me I lost the spar, but we were both put out of the queue. I'm not sure if I actually received a loss. Asked the person I sparred if it told them they won or lost, they said they don't remember. Feels bad tying to someone with the memory of a goldfish.

You might also wanna make sure it's consistent with the points system, as in the person who dies last during a tie doesn't receive points. Thanks again for doing this.

Well the results went somewhat as I expected.... Lol

Yeah we planned for her to spar at GST she done a 1v3 against Deity at belle and constantly clutched out numbered against them (Not their core team just like 3 of their members)... but anyway due to the date change unfortunately for us her flight was at the same time at GST so she couldn't. We managed to get T3CK and we probably should have used him against WAR but oh well...


On a side note man shoutout to Felix that dude was definitely MVP for WAR he hasn't got recognition he deserves.

Underdog definition:a competitor thought to have little chance of winning a fight or contest.
A team with thallen, dae and skull has the highest possibility of winning any gst.

Sorry guys, I didn't get around to editing the video I have of GST, some things came up and school started yesterday. Hoping to get to it at some point although it looks like a bunch of people have already posted videos. If there's any specific matches you guys want (unfortunately I only have mixed and even then missed some of those,) tell me and I may just grab those when I get around to it.
