This. There's nothing wrong with online dating, but I think it's a bit inappropriate in games like Graal which are meant for a younger audience.

Online dating can lead to some of the most beautiful and long lasting relationships out there. People who are both committed to one another may feel truly bounded to one another and chances are, they just might be. From a 3rd person standpoint, to me it is not disgusting. Rather, really romantic to see how people so far apart can be so happy with one another. If the relationship is a serious one of course.

However, I think the problem is for you and for most of us here is how people do not treat their relationships with honor and respect for one another. Today you will see how many people would advertise for a relationship in front of Graal city or some populated area. Now this itself is not a problem. People get lonely, so what do they tend to do? They advertise themselves on a website like eHarmony or some other dating website. Is it still gross and just as unacceptable as it was in Graal City? Somewhat, as being it is disturbing to witness a minor advertise him/herself and that there are dangerous risks in having an online relationship. But then again, what is any love without the risk of pain being involved?

So then, if this itself is not wrong, then what is? What separates a serious relationship and a non-serious relationship can be a variety of things. Such as a dare, challenge, lustful desires rather than loving ones. All of those things can be found in a non-serious relationship, and there are probably many more I cannot think of at the time. However what is most common you see on Graal is a false sense of "need".

When you see people advertise themselves, do you see them say "I want a girlfriend" or "I need a girlfriend"? Chances are you've probably heard them say need more than want. Truth be told, you do not need to be in a relationship. You want to be in one. But you've either gone so far desperate or self convinced, you may trick yourself into thinking you need one. When in reality, you don't. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be in a relationship. But when it becomes an essential, you may have to take a few steps back and rethink your necessities. Much like a drug addict who has become so far addicted they believe they cannot live without it, when they have done just fine beforehand.

So why would little Johnny or Billy think its okay to be in a relationship? Well, simply because they've either been exposed to graphic content and they believe lustful desires is considered love. Or what I personally believe is that because marriage is apart of the game. They feel as if they need (need, not want) to have a spouse in order to "advance" in the game. When again, in (virtual) reality, you don't. Nothing is wrong with having a spouse on the game, so long as both are equally in tune and share a caring respect for one another. Or of course, they both recognize that this is only for amusement rather than them both being attracted to one another. When you have someone who thinks they 'need' a relationship in order to advance in the game mixed in with someone who 'wants' to be in a respectful relationship, problems arise.

TL;DR

Well aren't you a lazy one? Well here it is: There's a difference between wanting a relationship and thinking they "need" one. Online relationships can be very prosperous for the both of them so long as they are serious and respectful for one another. Non-serious relationships occur when people think they 'need' it instead of 'want' it. If for some reason one day you or your future spouse finds out they can no longer reproduce with you, would you still be able to cherish them? Or do you think you really needed it that bad in order to be happy with them?
