I don't understand....

You save the image of the template into a paint type program. Then, draw over the template. And GIMP is a program like this. However, if you have a program like ms paint, it'll do. Just remember to save your work under .png or .gif.

Mike_Hauwk 10-01-2012 04:41 AM

Im on mac does it still work?

poorface 10-01-2012 04:52 AM

Well, I don't know much about pixel art, so I can't help besides what I've already done. What shock said makes sense though

Im not sure if paint.net is downloadable on Mac but i know gimp is. Type gimp in google then find the web page then download it. As someone has posted the hat template you need to save it(you should know how to do that). You then go on gimp then click open file on the top find the hat template then click on it you now have the hat template open! Now for the last step you click on new layer which is a white paper (it is located in the layers window). Grab the paintbrush and draw :). When your finished delete the hat template in the layers window and tada you have your hat! You then save the hat as a .png and when your your skilled enough you can make a .gif(animated hats)

hope it helped :p

Paint.net isn't compatible for mac, it uses net framework which is only windows compatible.

(1) Will it ever be ported to Mac OS, Linux, or any other operating system?
(2) What about Mono support? Wouldn't that be really easy?

We will not be doing any work to directly support Mac OS, Linux, Mono, or any other platform. We are doing this in order to focus on the best quality and support for the platform that we develop on: Windows with .NET. Also, we simply do not have the resources or expertise to do any of this work.

iPhoto's or Viewer is just as good and actually even better than Paint.net. Use that. When you start getting better, download a better program such a Photoshop or something. Also, I'm very sure their are numerous editing Apps in the Mac App Store. Try looking round there if your not comftuble using the above stated...

iSilver 10-01-2012 06:32 AM

BTW Make sure you save as a .PNG and not a .JPEG

Mike great thing your on mac there's a way you can crack photoshop on it but it only works on mac, then if you need to I can teach you about it, otherwise use gimp

Dylan 10-01-2012 07:00 AM

So you want a program to make pixel stuffs? :3

First off you will need a paint program:

Grafx2, Pixen, Gimp, Paintbrush

I highly suggest grafx2, as it's specially made for pixel art. :P

Next, just load in the templates and you're off.

If you want to learn how to actually create pixel art, here's a tutorial.

Who honestly buys Photoshop lmao. It's like £500 but you can get it for free.
Personal Message me anyone who wants to know how to. I made a video on it some time ago.

Talon 10-01-2012 08:00 AM

I still largely prefer GIMP over Photoshop for my graphic art.
