Honestly, that's just downright rude. It's not an edit, therefore he did put effort into it. Don't be so harsh on an artist that's just starting out. atleast he has enough sense to see that edits are worthless.

And also just because he's good at drawing doesn't mean his pixel art skills match that, just like for me I'm far better drawing than pixel arting

Better, I'd suggest changing up your skin color a bit so it is a little less orange and more skin colored. Also get rid of the black out lines and use just a darker shade of the color you are outlining.
