Spar Boosting
 

Okay, so basically, I was in spar failing as usual xD. Then, as I kept on losing I left but my gang member was still there. A couple of minutes later he gang messaged me saying there are these two guys boosting in spar underground. When I went there, the guy was on a 10 streak. I thought to myself lets end this streak and show this guy who's baws. However, somehow I was unable to join and the suspect, DonTouchMe, had gotten to a whopping 50 streak whilst the rest us of were just wondering why we couldn't join and how him and his partner, who was his gang leader, $hadow, kept on repeatedly joining. This was boosting. A later realized how he did it and that was by his opponent doubly tapping the home button and then joining again. Somehow, when his oponent lost and joined back, he was in front of the line to the spar which meant he kept on losing thus DonTouchMe kept on winning. He got up to like 50 spar streak and then his leader had to go or something. I warned him but he wouldn't listen as well as trying to find an online admin which there were none of at that potential time of 10:30am approx GMT.
He was boosting. Something serious has to be done about this matter as this has gone out of hand in the past few days in the era community. I believe that him, as well as the victim supporting him (who was his gang leader) should suffer a spar and kill reset as well as a ban as his motive was wrong and he knew he was doing the wrong thing as well as me telling him to stop several times.
Luckily, for the first ever time I took loads of pictures (WOOT WOOT!) for proof that I am not lying or making up baloney.

Let this incident be a warning for other potential boosters who I am aware of but unfortunately do not have proof thus I shall not name and shame anyone else.
A serious punishment should be put in place (for both DonTouchMe and his leader, $hadow) such as:
- Spar/PK reset
- Item reset
- Gun reset
- A possible 7 day ban to ensure he has learnt his lessons (if u can't do the time, don't do the crime')
- Suggestions?

Also, since spar boosting is illegal, members of staff should broadcast it alongside sever punishments to ensure new players (or even old players in this case) are not motivated in entering the 'boosting' life. Players like me play and learn to spar as well as learning the basics (which can take forever) such as dodging and other spar tactics whilst others can just boost and get better stats than us. This is (in my rightful opinion and many others) NOT fair and should be dealt with in a serious manner by a staff.

ps- I have nothing personal with DonTouchMe. I just can't accept the fact that people can earn those easy wins whilst people like me have to earn them.

The home button thingy doesn't add anymore spar kills I suppose, and about the streak, it's nothing really...

P.S: what would really help is that you report him saying "Boosting in spar" next time, it would spare a lot of time.

He went onto getting a 50 killstreak which also means getting 50 spar wins in less then 5 mins. :/ Since he can do this in underground spar, its highly likely that he (as well as other boosters) do it in spar complex etc thus getting free spar wins= ILLEGAL and I'm highly sure he has boosted more than that.

This has occured so many times before so I believe a punishment should be added so other players think twice before boosting and also so boosting stops. It's just unfair how these people get easy wins whilst legit people like myself spar for hours which a booster can obtain in a few minutes.

Many of us reported him but since nothing has been done I was forced to make a thread. Also, I am 100% sure it is not just him but many others who also boost. C'mon, I see people with 1000 spar wins and 10 losses who literally suck. I am also sure of many others who boost but just waiting for the right moment when I catch them red handed.

ya admins need to start to weild the "ban hammer" better. I see a ton of spar boosters who spar unfairly. The most recent one i saw was this nub fighting a noob and he went on winning 50 in a row. The noob just stood in one spot.

How do you know that's what he was doing?


On the subject of boosting, stats mean nothing in the eyes of a true sparrer. Why? Because you can sit at complex all day sparring nubs and get a 5000-0 record. You can boost like wiz used to and get 10,000-3000. Stats are meaningless. Trust me. Because most people don't have the skill to back up their stats.

For example take Paul Frank, me coming off my 3 month break of era decide to have a little fun and join TTS. Paul is on the opposing team using a souzin. If you've ever sparred a souzin you know they are fast and a bit hard to dodge, especially at half health. He ended up taking me out and talking crap saying he was a better sparrer even though he had to use a spam gun.
I decide to prove him wrong and organize a M4 vs M4 match. Basically a skill match, I won 3-0. In that case it was the gun, not the sparrer. So that's why stats mean nothing to anyone who is a true sparrer. There are too many variables to just judge someone off stats alone.

Then you sir are not good at beating a souizen. There really not that bad, just counter spam with a faster gun like a tec9 or ap7 witch are the fastest guns in the game. Works 80% of the time for me. also some people are better with spam weapons, the only guns that really take no skill at all to use is the bar and pbp.

also m4 can still be spammed, sten takes more skill sense it has more accuracy, but thats my opinion

I don't use "fast" guns in spar. I use M4 and most recent Thompson to test it out. That's the problem with the next gen of sparers. It's all about getting the fastest gun for you guys, not actually using skill and taking the time to utilize dodge and make every shot count as you have to with M4 rather than spamming bottom with a bar or shouzin or tec and calling yourself pro.

I don't care about some guy jacking his stats up-- PKers with merit don't even look at stats.

I do care that these fellas were inconveniencing other players by staking a monopoly on the spar arena.

I'll keep an eye out for this fella.

And, while it's being mentioned, I frown on those who use fast guns.
Years ago, fast guns didn't exist. But we had sprayers.
The difference was, the sprayers were penalized for spraying. The freeze on guns left them vulnerable. I wish I could bring back this combat- I think so many people would appreciate it.

The problem is that there's too many people who will feel like they're losing the ability to win easily. People who paid seven million dollars for the ability to win without skill.

every shot for me counts, if i go spam the crap outta ap7 the reload will get me killed. So i have to dodge bullets and take the time to dodge. when I spar if you give me a chance to spam ill take it. Also the fastest guns have super high freeze making it extremely easy for old school sparrers to take out a spammer.

Kai you come spar me with half hp and I'll bottom hug with a spam gun see how you fair :roll:

Yeah i saw those guys too (shadow and dontouchme) it was pretty annoying and shadow started calling everyone noobs while doing it lol

Ok, IDGAF about who beat who in spar and how Paul sucks at spar etc etc. What I do want is some sort of action taken. If none is taken, you admins are just implying that spar boosting is legal then and I don't see the point of me actually working hard towards a hat, sparring continuously whilst others can just boost. I'd be motivated to boost myself if that's the outcome and be a rebellion.

Easy way to beat a souizen: rush from the top, at point blank, the souizen shooting upward should shoot right through you without hitting you.

A person with souizen will make a step to the right and attack you from there. I sparred with rec alot...

TTS is a smaller arena in case you guys forgot. I know how to spar lmfao

It was worth it because now I am aware that no action will be taken towards spar boosting. Don't know about you guys but I'm of to underground spar with my 2nd iPhone to do a little 'something' which the staff take no action towards.

Is it possible for you to bring back era 2011 ish stats... Before the 'Great Nerf Week' when cloyd was forced to nerf all the guns , but resiegned because he just couldn't face it... Bring those stats back. The good m4. The ok pbp. The actually themed items , lol because i don't think a gangster would go around swinging a lollipop , spraying around his taco bazooka , picking up garbage with a cigarrete or pencil. I wasn't forced to nerf anything, I wanted to do it. Also, I was fired before I got to finish well, anything. If 100% is complete, I was fired when I only had 3% completed. As you can see, that's nothing. That's why things were the way they were when I left. I don't know what BBoy did when he was GA, nor do I really care, but the fact that Meph is the new Guns Admin makes me want to play iEra even more. Meph is my oldest friend from Graal and shares the same views on PKing that I do. I know he'll be great and I can't wait to start playing again. I'm glad he's the GA.

Wasn't trying to offend you for the record. Just telling the truth, I didn't care. Even if it was somebody else. The fact I heard Meph was the new GA brought my attention back to iEra because me and him are so alike especially in our views on PKing.

I bet not even a single booster on era,that was caught/reported by players,or caught by staff has been reset or whatever.
And you're right the hats mean nothing,but I don't even wear my masks(spar hats) because so many people have been boosting to get them and they suck.
Do you get the problem?We spar like crazy 24/7,we get MAX 200 wins a day(thanks to the new streak-system) and there are people that just f****** boost and get our reputation down,cuz they suck...
I bet my house,that out of 30 people that have 10k+ wins,not more than 10 are legit.
And what annoys me the most is the players "honnoring" them because of their godly stats.Just recently:an unknown guy pretending to be Flux from pc or whatever(which he isn't) has 12.000-1000 and NO ONE on era has such stats,and like all the boosters,you never see them spar against you or in public.They just boost,don't spar.
And that's simply unfair,idiotic.

Why do people that started their graal playing on iera, and became good at sparring on a phone think that they are the all mighty authority in this stuff? Listen to meph and cloyd, people.
