Americans: Romney or Obama?

You've heard the debates, the commerials and the campaigns. You decide Romney (R) or Obama (D)? I am all for Romney since the last four years have NOT been an improvement.

Pimpsy G. 10-31-2012 01:56 AM

I'm pretty sure the vast majority of people here are not prepared for political debates, let alone even voting. I guess I'll just watch this diminish to mindless insults and bickering based on what kids have seen from ads on TV.

This video shows the absurdity of what the republican party is willing to do to attempt to get their nominee into office. :\

I'm guessing you haven't seen this obama political ad. This is a nasty election, both sides are desperate.

fsh 10-31-2012 03:50 AM

thank God kids aren't able to vote

Higbey 10-31-2012 03:59 AM

I think the entire system is off course and broken, it was originally never meant to have parties, our president is not like Washington, nor will any politician these days will be.

Politicians are corrupt, horrible people, do are super pacts and big corporates that try to overpower the rights of people with lobbyists and money, paying off politicians, they don't do what's right for the country, they do it for the money and the only reason they will listen to people is from fear of being voted out of office.

No matter who you choose, unless some great force comes down, forcing the government to change by threat of death, assassinating those in the way... Unless someone goes in and fixs the constitution and turns the entire political system around and changes it dramatically.... Unless that happens then whoever is voted for won't really fix it.

I agree that this election is nasty, however I cannot seem to find anywhere that this ad was funded by the obama campaign, rather it was independently made by Jeff Goodby and Rich Silverstein of the San Francisco-based Goodby Silverstein & Partners.

The video I posted containing two republican ads are still on the campaign's website.

this is why we need to being back literacy tests and even add a 3question about the debates, if you dont get 2/3 correct, no vote.

The debates don't matter, how about voters have to explain what their nominee's policies are? Romney voters should have fun, since he doesn't clarify on anything concerning what he's going to do. He just says he's going to "get jobs".

I'm not sure how super pacs are even legal. All they do is let any business secretly fund someone' campaign, and then if they win, request a little payback from the president. They're the reason Mitt Romney won the republican nomination, and the reason someone sensible like Ron Paul did not.

And I'm pretty sure your video's information is not a very reliable source regarding those ads and the issues they reference, as that lady is obviously liberal and biased. Which is not a bad thing. I'm not trying to get into a debate or perpetually argue the statements of that video you posted because that gets us no where and does not change anyone's opinions. I'm just pointing out that there's always another side to a coin. In the end, past all the arguments, it just comes down to someones philosophy of the role of government. Nothing in politics is ever completely true because of this. Its just amazing how in elections people can deliver one bit of "True" information about an issue and make one side look bad, while another can make the opposite argument about the same topic with equally "True" information and make the other side look bad as well. Its just politics, no one is right. Ever.

Do even know why? You must not, knowing that you can't even spell his name right. People on welfare are just lazy now in these times, not saying everyone is, but most. They just abuse the money given to them and just say the exuse "I'm looking for a job" but yet, they have an iPhone. I can accept if you just got laid off and you need some support untill you find a job. Open your eyes, man. We need less spending in this program or at least a time limit you can be on either or program. I just hate when people on welfare just sit around all day and suck funding out of the government, when there are working Americans out there struggling to get money for their family.

If you're going to vote for somebody because of the color of their skin, that's ridiculous. We have a country full of issues that need to be addressed, and black skin isn't going to magically solve everything.

I don't mean to sound racist; I'm not saying he shouldn't be president because

I voted for Obama because first and foremost the government student loans which have the lowest interest rates and cuts out the profiteering middle man.

Also have the last 4 years really been that bad? It's not like our country is in shambles. I'd rather keep it like it is and give Obama another 4 years than just flip the switch and get Romney in there to take us back to the Bush policies that got us into this mess in the first place.

Sicx 11-01-2012 06:34 AM

Doesn't matter who gets in office. They both lie about the things they say just to persuade you to vote for them. Then they kiss up to being president at the next election just to get into office again.

It kind of does matter since their differing policies can directly or indirectly affect your life.

Jester Lapse 11-01-2012 06:53 AM

They don't exactly lie. When you run from president you do not know all the facts there are to know when making your campain. Some details are only for the president to know, so once elected he finds out all this crap that may slow down or throw off his plans that he did have while running.

I'd vote Obama. He essentially did do everything he said he would or at least tried. Troops are coming home. What's his face is dead. We are slowly focusing on our own problems while keeping the middle east in the corner of our eyes. I see no problem with Obama. He is doing his best and I feel it is better to let him continue on this steady rate we are going than changing people and having to essentially start all over again.

Plus Mitt blaintly lies in his campain and doesn't admit to it when caught. You know damn well he will lie to you as president with a smile on his face.

Exactly. Because if Romney is voted in, my dad will lose his job because Romney thinks PBS funding money should go elsewhere, even though it only uses 0.01% of the national budget.

It's kind of ironic since Romney's entire platform is to get America back to work...

He also changes his mind on key policies all the time. For example, he was one of the key people who created ObamaCare. Now that he's against him, he wants to junk it. To quote Stephen Colbert, "It's autumn, so don't forget to go outside and watch the beautiful changing of Mitt Romney's positions."

See here romney we have these thigs called aircraft. We have 18,000 of them. 3x more than the second most country china. Aircraft can deal much more damage to a ship than a warship alone...

You act like we don't need a ****ing navy just because we have some aircraft. Also, are you sure that a aircraft can do more to a warship that a warship to another? No. A warship designed for engaging enemy boats would EASILY deal more damage to other warships. Assuming that the aircraft makes it to the boat, for a lot of warships have AA guns. Also, it depends what kind of warship we are talking about. Some, which are designed for shooting down aircraft (cruisers are one) and other purposes could easily take down a plane. Aircraft carrier even carry airplanes. They are an essential warship for transporting aircraft, refueling them, an keeping them close to the fight.

So please stfu.
