Personally, I'd think they would be better if the went like this:

Item is hosted for a few days. (1-3)
Players can bid whatever they want, and its not like a race.

So it's not so laggy.

If they would do this, people would still keep bidding and the price would go up and up until the richest player won the item.

Well that would be to much money for 1-3 days...
But on the news they can post that an auction will be taking place tommorow at 12:30 pm or Something like that.
For more players to have a chance to get the item.

they have three seperate rooms.
Room one: the normal 5-10 min actions
Room two: 1-3 day actions
Room three: 1 week action (Rarest items)


not like action items/wepons change any gameplay really

Yeah. A normal auction for 3 three days would mean the price will be more or less 200k depending on the item.

No this is iEra and we will use whatever idea is out there. Taken or not, iEra or PC was not the very first to come up with long term auctions. Try looking at Ebay sometime bud.

A chainsaw went for 250k in a 20 minute auction. How much do you think a week will make it? I sure as hell won't be doing the math

its not that hard.

250k * 3 (1 hour) = 750k
750k * 24 (1 day) = 18M
18M * 7 (1 week) = 126M
or short
((250k*3)*24)*7 = 126M

and such a price would never happen. the prices arent going up straight, sometimes its more and than less. especially at higher prices the ammount of money being bid will drop.

I doubt someone has 126M and will use it on one item. If they did, I am sure we would see less scam threads because no one would drop.

nope. keep in mind, this is graal. if telling the players "dont attack them, than they will drop more" is turning them on to kill npcs, higher prices will turn them on aswell to "troll" around

Possibly 2 sets of news. 1 for just the normal typical news and the other one for timings for auctions/events etc...

If there were more auction houses than players the races for the items would be so high in the end. It would make iEra or any other server more fun. I cannot afford 1M Gralats or however high.

Hmmm, if idiots didn't bid in the first few minutes and only start bidding at the end, the final price would be ever so low. Hmmmm. .
