A few months ago the random people spamming the city with "Rate gp!!!!111!!" all stopped and went away. Last week they started to come back. In the past three days I counted roughly twenty people asking people to rate their guild pictures, two of these had inappropriate pictures (nudity) in them.
When did they come back and can we please get rid of them?

Did you report them? Because staff aren't magical and all-knowing.

While iGraal is still attractive to the people it is, they'll never go away.

They never did, never will. Accept that and the game is a lot better.
However like Duusty said report them if the picture is actually inappropriate.

Unfortunately you will see a forced decision come into play within the next few days that fixes this. I don't think people will like it, and I completely understand why they wouldn't, but it isn't a choice the staff have made.

No more guild pics?

If it has something to do with staff agreeing to what pictures can be uploaded then I would start a riot. A better idea would be that people who aren't in the guild can't see the picture, but once they join they could see it.

Can we assume this means that the number of "rate gp" will be drastically reduced? And out of curiosity, what would make you think that people wouldn't like this change you speak of?

Dude, porn is one thing... but the CP was getting way out of hand from what I've heard. Of the many things a parent might see their child encounter on a game, child pornography is probably one of the worst.

from what i know, as long as the photos are from users and not at all part of the actual app, nor sponsored or known about by the app, then its not responsible, such as skype, gmail, kik, forumrunner, and any game/app you can set a profile pic for.

there are some extremely horrible things on the internet, that doesnt make every user of the internet at fault or make it so that all the users of the internet should be punished.

Not sure if you noticed this or not, but the game is made up of mostly under age kids. Because of this, it would probably be in Stefan's best interest to find some way to filter out pornographic content that could potentially be posted and distributed to other players in game.

I don't think anyone has posted nudity of themselves or someone they knew as a guild pic. Sure there are kids who think they're badass because they can set porn they found off of google images as a guild pic, but I seriously doubt there were many problems with CP. people might have worn rather questionable clothing but I don't think it got much worse than that.

Then again, I'm not the guy who creeps around at guild pics all day.

I imagine the solution is gonna be to make the guild icon upload similar to the custom upload system, so they can verify an image is appropriate. Obviously it would have to cost gralats so they don't have to deal with constant changes.

Graal is not the dark depths of the internet like 4chan and such, it's a game played mostly by children; mommy walks past and notices a 10 year-old nude girl on Billy's iPad and she's going to be pissed. Also Graal can very well be held responsible for anything on its servers, it means nothing that users upload it.

The fact that guilds can even upload images is a privilege, blame the assholes for ****ing that up; the fact that it lasted as long as it did is a surprise.

It's gonna be a pain to show screenshots to others and show them images of things once they remove it :/

what is going to be done about people linking images using html in their status/news? Technically it isn't on their servers, and only being transferred as a reference, but they are still receiving it using the app.

I still don't think the community overall should be punished, only stricter punishments for those who break the guild pic rules and maybe a feed of guildpic changes so staff can monitor and easily ban innapropriate guild pictures and the leader that did it.

the amount of gp changes is probably very excessive, I would often change my guild pic a lot to show a collection of screenshots or images to friends. it wouldn't be easy to monitor.

And the current punishment for a gp that goes against the rules is a deletion of your guild(or just reset of image if it isn't that bad alongside a warning), and a ban if its bad enough.

That hasn't been possible for 2 years now.

If guild pictures are removed people will upload "guild logo" shields then post the code in the HTML img code to display it on the guild news...

If your getting rid of guild pics(getting images strait off of iOS/computer)... I'm all for it. Most guild pics I see are wasted on people posing and random junk unreleased to the guild that is running(if it even has members) and just being another wasted guild name someone might want to start their own guild...

Shields are looked at by upload staff... and besides the upload system doesnt support jpeg...

Edit: eh also I wouldnt cry too long if guild pics are removed. a third of them are just graal screenshots (of a guilds 1st tower, or a huddle of members spelling out the guild name), one third are just pictures from anime, and the other third are "cool" designs with the guildname edited in. and then theres the nudes...

Nooo. I hope they don't remove guild pictures, or require you to wait until your picture gets an "okay" from a staff.

Really....get the guild pics looked over by staff before they put on...the staff already deals with the shields/swords when they are uploaded...

People change their guild pics a lot more then they upload swords/shields.

Both players and staff in charge of it would go insane.

Making Graal City PK again would fix everything, however I doubt that will ever happen again.

That's because there is a fee associated with uploading a custom item. Guild pic changes are free, so people will constantly change them to upload funny images or to show people screenshots.

If there was a say 500 gralat fee to change your guild pic, it wouldn't be done often and would be used for its actual purpose, having an awesome logo for your guild.

It wouldn't need to be that expensive because it isn't as difficult to moderate as a shield or custom head, since there are less complications with copyright and formatting. It would just require a quick check to see if it's appropriate.

Why not stick to reporting the guild pictures?

Someone: "The staff won't look at all the pictures" or "That's pointless"

an outrageous ammount like with the graphics, but let me guess, there is no forced quota staff have to upload each week? so basically its going to take over 6 hours any way.

This rule is so stupid. Many people want to change guild pictures to show people stuff. Who in the world shows porn or sex photos. Ive never seen a picture like that in a guild picture before. Please fix.

It happens. People will just get used to it. They really shouldn't be needing to change it twice every hour anyway.
