Respected Players
 

I'm curious. There are many well renowned players on the Graal servers, but only a few can be distinguished above all else.

In your opinion, who are some of the most well respected players in the community, and why?

Dusty, because he's the most helpful.

Snake Rekon. You may not see him a lot but a lot of stuff in iEra are made by him and he is almost always helping players.
Also Snk and BBoy.

Dusty, Crono, Ducati_Link, Novo, Aeko, Crow, Rufus

Wait, are you meaning only players that can be called "old"? (not necessarily in age, just in years playing Graal) Because I have more that wouldn't fit into that category, but are still respected, and little known ones too. Can they be ones you respect personally, not just ones you think the Graal community as a whole respects?

Dylan, Kiwi, Emera, Talon, Jester, Engel, Hadi and Dimentio. Practically the whole creative corner crew!

Yes, yes they can. Players you respect don't necessarily have to be so called 'veterans', or very well known players.

Benevolence, maturity, or other traits that would make one want to respect a certain player.

Could you be any more of an attention *****.

Pazx, Higbey, MattKan, Entrok, Johan, Imprint, Chaotic, Thunder (speaking of which, there's thunder outside and it shakes our house every so often. Kind of freaky), Poetic, Zerith, Snk, Tig, Stefan, Vinka (despite past history, he's nice to me), and... iadhgjakdgh, kind of too many to count.

Oh yeah i forgot Noto.rious

Rufus: He is extremely straight forward and helpful, and actually funny.
Dusty: How I got most of my leveling advice.
Crono: Same as Dusty.
Mattkan: Just an amazing leader, who's attitude is crucial to any project, group, or server.
Emera: Amazing music artist that never ceases to amaze me.
WandaMan: I could go on for hours, you know why hes respectful.

Wait, reasons too?

Dusty answers questions in a mature and educated manner. He helps without bringing personal things into account.
Crono is a good person and helps when needed. He can give great advice.
Ducati is an amazing leveler and ya.
Novo presents Delteria in a brilliant way, and I don't really know him but he seems like a really nice guy.
Aeko is extremely nice, or seems to be, don't personally know him, and really talented at the same time.
Crow is a brilliant mature developer who (with the rest of the staff) made Atlantis look amazing before they stopped the project.
Rufus is mature and is doing great things on iClassic. He also helped being us this site, which is nice.
Fp4 is great at scripting. Yup.
WDM is an amazing leveler. That's all.
Pazx is just good. Slightly judgmental at times, but good.
Talon. See above.
Higbey is funny in his own way, and is actually a nice understanding guy sometimes. I like him.
MattKan has been a friend for over two years now and has been great at it. He's nice, he listens. He is good.
Entrok is really nice, a great scripter and likes to bake. Or is it Johan that likes to bake? I forget.
Johan is great at what he does, he's nice, he's mature, and he's understanding.
Imprint can be ultra mature when he needs to be, but also can be immature and hilarious.
Chaotic. Don't know him well, but he's great at what he does.
Thunder is nice, talented, mature, and a great friend.
Poetic is the same as above, and taught me many crucial things.
Zerith is nice and amazing at pixel art. He's also papa :P
I don't know Snk personally, but he seems mature and he responds to feedback well.
Again, don't know Tig personally, but seems great.
Stefan brought me Graal and without it I would have considerably less friends. So I like him.
Vinka has been nice to me and is great at what he does, despite any shortcomings.
Aya is my mama and is nice and amazing at art. But she needs to learn to cook.
Lettro is a thug.
Dylan is nice, understanding, mature, and great at pixel art.
Emera is great at making SFX, and is nice to me.
Hadi just keeps on persevering at pixel art, and keeps on getting better, and I think I spelt that wrong. Same with Kiko. :3
Dimentio is nice and smart and mature yup.
Callimuc is a great developer, he's mature, and he's a nice guy.

Like I said, there are way more, I just can't list everyone, and I've barely read some of your posts or talked to you before in the case of most people... So sorry if you feel left out <3 and sorry if you're really sure you should be on it because we're best friends or something. I DID MY BEST. So sorry in general! For anything I've ever done or will do!

Did actually find some of these list very amusing as most of you seem to be trying to list as many staff members as you could think of, but I'll bring some dignity to this thread with my own list which would be difficult seeing as I just don't give respect to any randomly hired "adiams".

Kevo (He treats me and all players with the utmost of respect and deserves it back)

Fro (Was such a jerk to him but he still maintained his respect towards me)
Racil (By a clear mile the nicest person I've ever met on Graal)
Aran (One of the nicest and funniest people I've met and that's in addition to his ability at making great graphics)

I respect respect, and I don't really disrespect anyone. I can't list players who have a positive impact on others, but you know who you are. That really builds character; Keep up the good work, guys. ;)

Sandz, Tiamat, Cloven, Maximus, Zeromus, Munki, Riot, Mr. Glub Glub, etc. etc. Unfortunately these guys probably haven't been around in 5+ years.

The Aran whose staff on iClassic. But its easy to confuse them seeing as Aran is a family name and its unlike most family guilds put in the first part of the nickname but to clarify I mean the one whose in Anubis.

Of course it has to be ass kissing.

The reason people list staff is because they are generally mature and have useful skills. They should be nice. They should have qualities that people commonly respect.

In other cases it is ass kissing.

I don't understand threads like these. What is the point, some sort of theoretical virtual cookie for the most respected person? All a person that is really out to help people needs is clarification that they indeed did help on a specific issue. Like rexx said, this just seems like some sort of ass kissing trophy thread where we rank our favorite people and establish a pecking order.

An ego boost/praise isn't necessarily a bad thing at all. Lots of positive psychological benefits to it. You shouldn't only see the bad in it.

Truth be told, doesn't it suck not to be on it? Doesn't it feel great if you are? We are all human beings behind these computers. We like a nice thought or two. Knowing that someone knows us across who knows where.

Enough Monologue. My list is:
Kiwi - Took the time to actually give reasons for his list of people. Shows he actually takes note of a person's character. And he was the only one to mention me <3. I appreciate that.
Aya - Doesn't takes sides to arguments. Great to get along with.
Sandz - Patient Artist that started it all for me.
Shurikan - Most polite guy on the game I met in my 8 years of playing Graal.
Jester - Disappointed he left the crew, but tries to make a difference in the community.
Novo - Best Manager I've had by far.
Higbey - Many times under appreciated. But a notable voice in Graal just trying to make things better.

Zerith :) There are many others but he is definitely one of the most respectable kind and artistic players I have met. :)

My List (be wary I am not as active as I used to be, also no order)
David K?: Amazing guy, great artistic skills and my first boss in a sense. Respect him a lot.
Emera: He's a qtie<3 Got me hired on Delteria, and that was a great experience
Rexx: Used to hate him, but he is a cool guy once you get to know him. Enjoy gaming with him on Halo 4
Zerith: My best boss to date. Funny, can calm tense situations and one of my favorite people to talk to <3 TE
Shurikan: Flippin ninja, what more can I say <3 TE
Infernus: One of my oldest members when I started Lapse. Always stuck by me even during my ugly times
Lapse: Ya, everyone that was in it or will be in future if I decide to come back. My extensive Graal family and I respect you all
Ice Shadows: Ya, that gang that was top 5 for the first year of iEra. Love you guys, honestly you all made me who I am now. (Infernus, Cloudy, Tori <33333 [imissyou], Frostie, Zane, Ryan, Kyle, Dawn, Goaty, Dream and of course me!) Honestly the best group of people I have ever been around, sad I had to let the gang die out
Mila: Makes me cookies <3
Kiwi: Used to think he was annoying, but I soon came to respect him and the way he tries to help people the best he can
Kiko: My little GFX apprentice ;) You are slowly but surely improving my friend
Higgles: Smells and is a major downer, but on the occasion he spits a decent sentence that makes sense and it appropriate
Nikki: My Dora girl <3
Aya: Very nice person, easy to get along with. Also my secret daughter, shhh!
James: Started working for him recently for iZone. So far he is a great guy and I know you guys will love him when iZone releases because he always keeps you all in mind when deciding what to develop
Bboy: My first born Graal child :,) Works with my on iZone, and makes me laugh always. Also more mature than most despite his age
HomoPanda: Love you ass hat
Lavaclaw, Jatz and Chaotic: Eos+Lapse=<3
