What do you guys have against hat monkeys?

Honestly.. These arguments are going nowhere why the **** would you want to banish the one thing kids no life for. Towering is a big part of Graal just please don't take that away. Once 1k hats are gone. Graal will lose 24% of its populations. If you support 1k hat banishing or increase of the hours, post here cuz I really am eager to read your posts.

Bubba De Orc 11-27-2012 10:04 PM

It's really the no life's who live on Graal who are supporting this. After getting their share of 2-3 hats. They decide no one else should receive genuine hats. Hats that are actually made to perfection. Rather than the hats that are released every 2 weeks at a random shop.

Alright, how many threads have this same topic already?...on this page.

MrSimons 11-27-2012 10:06 PM

I have no problem with anyone who wants hats or will dedicate their time to getting them. I only am bothered when they abuse the guild system to get said hats.

Abused? Excuse me. Am I missing something over here?

G Fatal 11-27-2012 10:11 PM

It defeats the point of when forts started, when forts started it was all about glory whoever could get first and whoever could get the great achievement of 1k hours + was actually fun.

Now its just lets get 1k for hat and do with another guild and move on to next and do again with our following graalians so theres not a bunch of guilds all fighting for the same goal; thats why they should scrap it and make a new guild activity or even make ctf into a guild activity where whoever gets certain amount of wins gets a prize I'm sure lots will come running if they did something like that(Doesn't have to be CTF)

Psycher! 11-27-2012 10:12 PM

The process of abusing:
>Make guild
>Waste approximately 43 days of life to get worthless virtual hat
>Make another guild

It's the Graal staffs profit.. More people play the game. So it's smart for them to not remove the hats xP So let people abuse. You lose nothing. It's people waisting their time not yours.

Yes, abused. I have a good feeling that when the guild system was put together it was not meant to be used for getting an infinite number of free hats. On top of that every hat chasing guild has used the same tactic, "noob recruiting".

Guilds where made for you and your friends, not for you to get hats.

Godoco 11-27-2012 10:28 PM

First: I made up hat monkeys.
Second: Agreed.

What about the people who want to tower for fun but can't because they have no chance to match massive guilds with 25-100 people protecting a tower? A guild made to get one hat for about 12 people in that guild, a guild that will die once the hat is received. What about the people that helped and thought they'd get a hat but didn't? I don't think it is a time problem, I think it is a fairness problem.

Lol where you going with 25-100. It's usually 10-19 at most. As you might have noticed Graal staff don't really care about fair. Well, tough luck to those who didn't receive a hat after they helped.

You obviously haven't been to a tower recently, I have seen guilds with filled to the brim with members plus full sub guilds. And no, not tough luck to people who helped. It is ridiculous to think that a guild is recruiting hundreds of members over the time it takes for them to get to 1000 hours and that about 12 of those people get the hat they worked for.

Psycher! 11-27-2012 11:03 PM

And there's also the fact that there are actually people who would spend approximately 43 days of their lives on an online game for a worthless virtual hat.

Who cares? If they want to spend time getting a hat so be it. Just don't abuse the system.

Higbey 11-27-2012 11:12 PM

actually they are losing money to tower guilds.

big tower guild that abuse the guild functions make it more difficult for newer guilds that are made as they were intended, for your friends, and for fun. thus, they make it so these newer players lose interest in guilds and can lead to them quitting, plus, big "noob recruiting guilds" that recruit new players, then kick them, can put off players because its pretty douchebaggy to them that their first guild they are invited to ends up ordering them around and kicking them when they log off.

all these things can make newer players stop playing, and new players are the most profitable players, they have houses, guild houses, customization, slots pack, lanterns, draisines, horses, plus all those hats and other things to buy, which means they would be more likely to purchase gralat packs to pay for these things.

basically, those guilds dont deserve anything, and its not really a problem if they quit, because only a small ammount of the higher up members of the guild actually get the hat, if you are claiming people quit over not getting a guild hat, then that means all those helpers that get kicked every time and dont get the hat have been quitting, which is taking away players more than it would if all the current hat chasers quit, so either way stopping these guilds would help, not hurt the playercount.

if staff put an end to it, i doubt anything will really happen, as ive proved more than anyone, that no one can really get players to riot in a way that actually works, as the only way you can do something to affect stefans decision is stop buying gralat packs, as ive shown before, thats not going to work when the playerbase has so many kids with their parents creditcards on the account, and will run away when staff members try the blatant tactic of having a event RIGHT NEAR the place the riot is taking place. (I loss faith in the players everytime i see that actually work)

tldr: players cant do **** in this games current set up. if staff do remove guild hats, nothing will change it.

Infernus Lapse 11-28-2012 12:12 AM

How about you just let people buy all the hats and deal with emotes and weapons, like special arrows or maybe even a new weapon like crossbows or flintlocks. All i ever see in this section of graalians is arguing over stupid hats and favoritism.

25* a guild that is hat chasing does whatever they can to obtain hat. Fair play imo.

Doing whatever you can does not mean its fair play.

The guilds were made for your friends, you are supposed to recruit your friends. The kick is for removing players incase they do something bad, or you no longer wish them to be in your guild, not for everytime they log off.

Guild allies were for seperate guilds to make it do you could "ally" not for "families" or "mega guilds" to get past the 25 member limit.

The hats were supposed to be rewards, not goals or reasons for guilds.

Really 25? No, I have been active in a few tower guilds that I helped all the way, 6 in fact. Want to know how many guild hats I have? 1. Yes 1. After helping in 6 different guilds. I'm not the only one either, there were many other player who got nothing for the 1000 hours that they spent loyal to these guilds. Don't say it is fair.

Absurd? It is a major fix to the game. So many friendships have been broken, fights started. I don't think it is worth it. Not to mention the scoreboard littered with dead guilds made for the purpose of a hat.

The system meant for guilds to be made of friends who tower for fun, quit your whining if you are a hat monkey who joins guilds to get a hat. That's your own fault for towering from day 1 for a hat and not towering for fun. but I agree with your second post, such as if a guild doesn't get tower time within two weeks of it being on the leaderboard, it gets removed until it gets some tower time.

Where did I say I joined any of those guilds for hats? Please point it out to me. All of those guilds were guilds I joined because the leaders and members were my "friends".

You must have pretty ****ty friends who are leaders of guilds you worked your butt off, and you don't recieve the hat.

I can say that's not necessarily true.

When AF1 was still towering we had over 40 people on tag several times at once. A decent portion of the guild was hat chasers, and a lot of people strongly disliked each other; I had to be quite strict and break up a lot of arguments.

Solution? Get rid of 1K hats so people who sincerely enjoy holding towers can actually do so. It really needs to be done.

Bubba De Orc 11-28-2012 02:48 AM

The only garuanteed way of receiving a hat: make a close friendship with leader, perms/primes etc. Be active and loyal. That is the one reason why people don't get hats, and blame leader. If the hat limit is 25. Near the end the whole lower class members in the guild will be sought after their activeness.

I've been in several towering guilds. Got hat once. And I really don't give a ****, why the other guilds didnt give me hat after all the loyalty. After that you move on to another guild. Thus keeping towering alive

Honestly, who towers for fun? The only guilds that come to my mind are people who's life's have been entirely taken over by Graal. Aka illuminati corp. I'm at the edge.

I towered for fun and we made Cxe to help other guilds when we started and we saw we had a tower guild made out of friends and people we liked so we started the tower guild with Cxe and kept it going. I am bored of towers now so when Cxe hits 10,000 it is done. The goal that I never thought i would hit.

Don't say cxe was a hat monkey guild when we kept Cruxis going into the 2,000. We just didnt want to take towers but help other guilds hit their goal. I might go back to that plan again to help anyone that needs it.

Towering should of never been for hats. I won't join guilds for hats or anything. I will help them get to their goal. I will be inactive when cxe is over with.

Remove the 1,000 hat by saying numbers matter on how many are online it doesn't. It only matters if they spend their money on gralats or the other in-shop stuff.

I think it's fine if they get rid of 1k hats. I mean, they already lowered the hat distribution to 25..why not just take the whole idea away? 0:

I have nothing against hat chasers/monkeys, but they used to really annoy me, because most of them usually pop out of nowhere at 700-900 hours. Then, they'll commit 24/7 helping those last 1-3 weeks of towering, and actually get the hat in the end. And, it sucks for the players who has been spending the last few months at towers. But now, I don't really care about them because of the new hat limit xD.
