I'd just wait and hopefully Graal comes to the Play store. I want to use some of the free 25 bucks that came with my Nexus 7. :D |

SkyLD keeps asking Stefan for a new APK, but Stefan cba to compile a new version for debugging.

I'm not complaining, but I would be surprised if Graal for Android is released before 2020.
(Not bashing Stefan) |
I truly believe the Android client will be finished before June. From looking at over a dozen threads on thisnsubject , it seems all they are doing is debugging on devices and that's it. I have no I device anymore but I would be glad to use it on my Nexus 7. For people out there the requirements for Android phones isn't really high. From what I herd its 2.2/2.3 firmware and 1Ghz with 512mb with ram(: hope I helped a little(:

I've seen so many threads on the original forum and this. I don't know which one but I got the info from Skyld's post.
Since most people on Graal are so stubborn. Here you go. forums.graalonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134265660&page=2 |

No, sorry I went at you too hard.. But I hope you found that reliable(:
|
It was insightful and proves it's existence at least.
I still don't have much hope for it considering how old those posts are. |
If staff have make positive response on this than my hope will continue to stay high and ready for it(:
|
I talked to Skyld a couple of months back, and apparently Stefan is blind of what potential the Android market has and what $$$ it can bring him. I expect there won't even be a beta until next year.

I wish a real publisher or dev owned Graal. Not some stinky Frenchman. |
It's complicated. If you would put Android and Apple player on one Server it would cause a lot of lag. If you would put them on two Server it would cause that we need way more Staff which is also impossible because the Server-Manager can only focus on one server, the communitys (Graal Facebook, Forums etc would have two communitys... Because the Apple players doesn't know the Android players, they would have different themes etc. Just wouldn't work because the Android players would stay away from the Apple players and so Graal iClassic iPhone and Graal iClassic Android would become two different games in time and the forum would need 2 different main forums) and it would cause the Apple vs Android fight. It would ruin the community.
|
I heard it will be 2 different servers. Not sure at all tho. Otherwise the playercount will be multiplied by 2 or 3...
|
hmm

They will use a copy of the server and the updates will be all the same, so there will be not a problem about the manager and developer team the only thing what they will need is GP/PR staffs for the other server. |
You never know guys, the Android app can be a huge hit, spread by word of mouth and the Graal Android version could possibly surpass the amount that iClassic currently receives.
Then again, it could be a complete miss and only have generate a minimal amount of players. |
I highly believe after it releases on Android it will be on the 500,000+ download section.. On Android the simple online "Beta" games get around that many downloads. So knowing the positive feedback Graal gets just imagine what it will receive for Android

I wonder if a server became populous enough that it would be possible to open a second server, for that server..if that makes sense.
It would be accessible by all the platforms and exactly the same as the original, just to spread the load of players. |

I don't think they will make an android version never...

That's correct, and it is being worked on. Stefan stated recently that he's working on optimization. Currently an Android server can hold a max of 2031 players.

Most likely.... Kind of sucks =(

Most large-scale MMO's require a backend that's distributed through several servers and instanced to reduce the complexity of that distribution (And also for gameplay reasons obviously). Graal doesn't fit into this model very well, especially since the server that runs Graal is essentially a piece of trash.

I tested a few android clients and it ran better than the iOS client in some cases (amazing considering the codebase was older and didn't have all the optimisations). I haven't talked to Stefan in a while though so no clue where it's at now :( |
