GraalOnline for Android?

Any idea if Graal will ever be release on Android smart phones?
I've been waiting for a very long time now.

Aleksandr 12-27-2012 06:23 AM

Nope.

PoeticFolly 12-27-2012 06:24 AM

Please learn to search. Please.

Lolwut 12-31-2012 01:36 AM

Hmmm,maybe...
I mean they have it in the browser, and android has flash.

BearClassic 12-31-2012 01:55 AM

Flash support was cut from Android..... ive tryed.

The Doctor 12-31-2012 02:56 AM

I got flash to work on my Samsung Galaxy SIII (no root)
http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-...-bean-devices/

I'm running Jelly Bean.

PoeticFolly 12-31-2012 05:18 AM

Will that work for Kindle Fire?

Is it rooted? If so, you're going to have to test it. They don't take kindly to software that doesn't come from amazon.

I think you can just visit http://era.skyriderplay.com, though anyway.

That doesn't mean it's actually playable.

Is it?

I can't use the touch keyboard at all, but I plan on using my Bluetooth keyboard to use the controls for facebook graal.

That seems a bit much for just playing on android.

I'd just wait and hopefully Graal comes to the Play store. I want to use some of the free 25 bucks that came with my Nexus 7. :D

I know, too bad. But I'm thinking of developing JS buttons that manipulate the flash application. I'm lazy though.

I have $45 on the Play Store. I want graal on android really bad.

SkyLD keeps asking Stefan for a new APK, but Stefan cba to compile a new version for debugging.

Having been in RC several times with Stefan on iZone, I can say that he's nothing like the "MONEYZ!!!11!~!!" stereotype people throw at him.

One time on iEra RC he was giving his nephew gralats. He's got money to spare, dude.

Aside from relating to money, how does that apply to what I said at all?

Xavier 01-02-2013 10:03 PM

I'm not complaining, but I would be surprised if Graal for Android is released before 2020.

(Not bashing Stefan)

Vudu 01-16-2013 11:13 PM

I truly believe the Android client will be finished before June. From looking at over a dozen threads on thisnsubject , it seems all they are doing is debugging on devices and that's it. I have no I device anymore but I would be glad to use it on my Nexus 7. For people out there the requirements for Android phones isn't really high. From what I herd its 2.2/2.3 firmware and 1Ghz with 512mb with ram(: hope I helped a little(:

Where did you get this information?

Vudu 01-17-2013 01:54 AM

I've seen so many threads on the original forum and this. I don't know which one but I got the info from Skyld's post.

Since most people on Graal are so stubborn. Here you go.

Well sorry it was such trouble for you to provide where you got your information from. Just wanted a source before I start believing things.

Vudu 01-17-2013 03:05 AM

No, sorry I went at you too hard.. But I hope you found that reliable(:

Rexx 01-17-2013 03:09 AM

It was insightful and proves it's existence at least.
I still don't have much hope for it considering how old those posts are.

Vudu 01-17-2013 03:12 AM

If staff have make positive response on this than my hope will continue to stay high and ready for it(:

I talked to Skyld a couple of months back, and apparently Stefan is blind of what potential the Android market has and what $$$ it can bring him. I expect there won't even be a beta until next year.

Graal has so much potential yet its squandered by the two ****tards who run the show.
I wish a real publisher or dev owned Graal. Not some stinky Frenchman.

Robert. 01-17-2013 12:41 PM

It's complicated. If you would put Android and Apple player on one Server it would cause a lot of lag. If you would put them on two Server it would cause that we need way more Staff which is also impossible because the Server-Manager can only focus on one server, the communitys (Graal Facebook, Forums etc would have two communitys... Because the Apple players doesn't know the Android players, they would have different themes etc. Just wouldn't work because the Android players would stay away from the Apple players and so Graal iClassic iPhone and Graal iClassic Android would become two different games in time and the forum would need 2 different main forums) and it would cause the Apple vs Android fight. It would ruin the community.

XENA* 01-17-2013 01:03 PM

I heard it will be 2 different servers. Not sure at all tho. Otherwise the playercount will be multiplied by 2 or 3...

Robert. 01-17-2013 02:06 PM

hmm

Every Server has a manager. And he can't focus on two servers. And if I was a manager of a server i have been working on for some years I wouldn't just tive the Server to a different person. Also Android players wouldn't have LATs, GFXs, SFXs, Ganis etc cuz the community would not know anything. So also no GMs

There is not a Problem to run more servers, just use you'r brain or play other online games.
They will use a copy of the server and the updates will be all the same, so there will be not a problem about the manager and developer team the only thing what they will need is GP/PR staffs for the other server.

Rezon 01-17-2013 06:05 PM

You never know guys, the Android app can be a huge hit, spread by word of mouth and the Graal Android version could possibly surpass the amount that iClassic currently receives.

Then again, it could be a complete miss and only have generate a minimal amount of players.

Vudu 01-17-2013 09:12 PM

I highly believe after it releases on Android it will be on the 500,000+ download section.. On Android the simple online "Beta" games get around that many downloads. So knowing the positive feedback Graal gets just imagine what it will receive for Android

For some players iClassic is already really laggy at 1.5k people online. You might not realize it on a staff account but on an device you get to feel the lag.

The lag is not caused by the cross platform mix though lol.

Rexx 01-18-2013 12:01 PM

I wonder if a server became populous enough that it would be possible to open a second server, for that server..if that makes sense.
It would be accessible by all the platforms and exactly the same as the original, just to spread the load of players.

I hope you know.. the server doesn't cause the lag. The iDevices do cause they don't have good as specs as a lot of Android devices. Most people atm are using 4's 4S's and iPod touch 4's. Which the highest is running a dual core with less than 1GB of ram. When Android devices have up to 2GB of ram and quad core just like my devices.

That's correct, and it is being worked on. Stefan stated recently that he's working on optimization. Currently an Android server can hold a max of 2031 players.

Will it be a separate server from iPhone players?

I think you misread what he wrote. He stated that maximum users on the iPhone server has been over 2000 and that he didn't think it would last another 2000 (as is) if Android players was on the same server. But he said he was going to optimize the server to be able to handle more

Downsider 01-22-2013 06:18 PM

Most large-scale MMO's require a backend that's distributed through several servers and instanced to reduce the complexity of that distribution (And also for gameplay reasons obviously). Graal doesn't fit into this model very well, especially since the server that runs Graal is essentially a piece of trash.

Android server? o_o I didn't think the servers discriminated on OS/client :)

I tested a few android clients and it ran better than the iOS client in some cases (amazing considering the codebase was older and didn't have all the optimisations). I haven't talked to Stefan in a while though so no clue where it's at now :(
