Europa hiring scripters & GFX
 

Some of you may have heard of the management switch for Europa.

Hell Raven and myself have taken over management since Vinka's retiring from Graal.

We have come a long way in our development process but we are hiring for our Graphics and Scripting team.

What have you done in the month(s) that Vinka's been away? I want to see how much you've progressed/what you've changed.

Close to all events and the spar arena have had their levels completely redone.

The OW has been heavily detailed. Hell Raven is in the process of moving irl so his work has been put on a short pause, but he is working on a movement system then an economy system. Plus rewriting every script on the server. Nico is working on a new spar system, and Mark (Ex UN Manager) is working on our new ET system.

We also have our tileset being worked on by Frixxy (UN GFX Admin) due to a lot of errors and additions we need made.

Elk is also on the fence about maybe joining our team. He wants to see a bigger core staff, which is why I'm branching out to here to try and gain some actual talent to add to our staff, instead of the "R U HIRING I B GP ADMIN" and the stolen content applications that we (and I'm sure most others) get flooded with.

The server is going in a different direction and is really picking up steam. We are trying to keep the staff list exclusive to seriously talented members; As opposed to most servers who will just take anyone who slightly "qualifies" for the position.

Can we see some screenshots of these changes?

I am on my laptop now, but you can go on and check it out for yourself. It's not a staff only login.

Tomorrow when I'm on my PC I'll take some though. Unfortunately I don't have before screenies for a before and after, but for the many who have seen it during it's construction days and it's short stint on the hosted list, you'll see the difference right away.

Hell Raven 2.0? I know the Hell Raven from the 1.x times of Graal (who eventually ended up working on UN/Classic) but I don't seem him working on a UC world :x

Topsam it may be.... Only because everything, and I mean everything is going to be redone.

So like I said, we're looking for GFXers to help Frixxy and scripters to help Hell Raven.

Stefan and Unix have both asked us to reapply for hosted, they have both shown a lot of interest in Europa and the direction it's going. We want to get a few things done before reapplying, then making our push to the classic list. So please contact me on Europa, through email, on AIM or Skype about trying out!

Well sadly you won't find any here. Considering almost everyone here is on a one track mindset to become an admin on an iOS server. Most of them also don't have gold subs either.
And most people here that do have talent are already working for a server.
You'll be able to get multi-server staffs at best.

There is a lot of potential here though with people attempting levels and pixel art but they aren't ready to work on servers yet without heavy guidance and assistance.

You're right. Enough of your pessimism. It isn't welcomed and there's quite a few of talented people here who would probably be good staff for Europa.

Just looking around I've seen a lot of people who have plenty of talent. So I don't think that's an issue...

And multi-server staff is fine, as long as they work.

Not trying to be a selfish bastardly hoarding ***, but whenever i have my RC up i usually refresh every like 30 minutes. I never really see anybody on Europa. Rarely i'll see 1 or 2 people get on there, but 5 minutes later, they get off. So yea ...............

Anyways, I really like the way the server is looking. Good luck in development.

And yes, there are not a ton of people on, like I said we try to keep our staff list exclusive of extremely talented staff, but we are trying to expand our list.... Thus me being here. Hehee :P

We aren't going iOS... Yet.

And Vinkas tiles are still on there. Just slight improvements and some additions being made.

What you're looking at is-

3 of our (small) overworld levels
Also our spar arena (an extension to the level is going to be made)
2 Events (Bush Race & Sumo)
And a small area we think we may use as our PK Zone


As you can see the tileset was never completed by previous management. We have Frixxy (UN GFX Admin) working on our tileset, so it is being completed.

The OW design is pending a possible change. The levels were done by myself, DubbyKay (Ex-N-Pulse Manager) and Scarz (Ex-Zodiac Dev Administrator)

If my acc will be reseted I wasted farming in there for 1 hour :/

I think Vinka's graphics were the main appeal for Europa. Are you trying to find someone to mimic that art style for future additions to the server?

Frixxy had a similar style, but she doesn't produce quite as good looking graphics.

What is Vinka's style? I think it looks like a rubbery or a smeared. I kind of like the way it looks.

We have a gfxer who can mimic and I think is even better than Vinka. In the state Europa was, yes Vinkas gfx was the main attraction. But what is being worked on and what is soon in the works will be maybe even more of a reason to play Europa. =)

But we are still looking for gfx help. A lot of our work is going to be GFX related.

Who? I wanna learn from them to get that style in my pocket. ;)

I was dying to see the levels improved. Now, they've been improved, but they look really messy. :(

The ow may be changing again... Lol. Either that or do straightening up on this one.

If for nothing else, it's at least an example of the content we can provide and the progress we are making.

I checked out the server for the first time. I never really liked the GK look, but you brought a whole new meaning to it! I love the tileset!
