I've always thought about a game like this. This would be amazing!

The game itself looks amazing, but this looks like it would take up a LOOOOOOT of space.

I have some negative opinions of this. It looks like it would be far too time consuming and addicting. Rather than trying to simulate life, why not just live?

I admit that it looks kind of cool, but the idea itself seems silly to me.

Minecraft is pseudo-infinite, meaning the world just keeps generating the further you walk out. Only problem is the further you get from 0,0,0 some bugs start to appear. But we're talking an extremely large distance from 0,0,0. So far in fact that notch hasn't bothered to look into it yet as no large body of players has managed to reach this far yet.

On topic, This looks awesome. The "Ultimate sandbox". I'm pretty interested.

Because dying in real life is a little more serious than dying in a videogame.

Valid point, but the idea of doing "anything" doesn't only mean dangerous things. I'm talking about the everyday life aspects they are attempting to simulate.

I'm not trying to be too negative, but I am really skeptical of the legitimacy of this project. A quick look at their development blog and I'm already pretty disappointed. I don't even understand what that means or how that would be functional/productive. Check it out for yourselves under the "What will the game look like?" section on the website.

So you're saying they are starting the game in 2D and then transitioning to 3D, and you think it will fail? First of all you don't even know what it means, just like you said. What makes you think they will fail if you don't even understand what they mean by transitioning to 3D? Its cool to be the other person that negative of something that the majority likes, but your points are stupid

Just putting my two cents in, I'm not claiming to be right. I do understand what they are doing, that's not the part I was confused about. I just don't understand why they are doing that.

It just seems sloppy and doesn't look very promising. They are more than welcome to prove me wrong!

Possibly the project could be based off of another platform. Say, get Skyrims files and just mod the hell out of it? Wouldn't take nearly as much time.

All talk, no results. Non professional looking website, and concept art looks ugly. I don't see why anyone should get remotely excited about this until it is released.

Yes, I know. It looks unprofessional. They don't even have decent font rendering engines so the fonts look all jaggy, I would expect 100% professional quality on everything from a team that says they can make a game as extensive as this. Anything less and I think everyone has a right to have doubts. Also, the concept art still is ugly and looks like something I'd find on a cheezy facebook application.

You're bagging in a game that hasn't even reached Alpha yet. So now you're telling me that the font looks bad? if you're talking about the text under the Video "We are creating a Virtual Parallel Universe; etc etc.." It's probably meant to look like that, I don't know why they made the text font like that. As you can see not all the text is like that

I wasn't bagging about a game that hasn't reached alpha yet. You put those words into my mouth. The entire time I was stating that I have doubts that the developer can deliver since all we have heard from them was talk. I also did not like the concept art. I even said:

I would have more faith if the project was undertaken by people with experience lol. Let's be honest here, who HASN'T though of a game like this? Who HASN'T wanted to play a game like this. Let's face it, this idea is old, and if it were possible it would be done by a company that has experience and a name. Not some random people. This honestly reminds me of the Sims, but larger. But I think Sims is as close as it gets to this type of game minus the MMO. Just saying, I would not get excited over an idea that is old and hasn't been done already by companies that you be expected to have the means to do so.

The thing is that we don't know who is working on the project, it could be a famous company, who the **** knows. What makes you think that they aren't experience, from the concept art, sounds to rash to me..

lets all throw iphones with the universe projects at tose pyrats then we can get their eyepatches and probably blow hole on the roof of pyrat cave. the smoke of the explosion will continue for 2months, making it impossible to see and gralats will not grow for 2 months. in this period, all insects will die, including oasis island. any sources of water will be full of ash, and attempt to swim in it will cause an immediate death. Classic players are warned to stay in their homes. era will be worse. the dangerous prticle in the iphone nuke will set to flames whenever a bullet is shot. all era players have to buy a gas mask and have to walk, and use only melee attacks. the zone floating city power system has crashed when ashes are stuck in the engine, and spaceships are disconnected from all planets, squad mission planet, pvp, showdown are banned. the zone engineers are currently reparing the zone city which landed on top of nimba. classic admins are orded to help zone engineers to repair the floating city.

You don't download/install the entirety most mmo games. You simply download/install a client that interperets and renders files and stuff like that. I'm sure if you had to download all of WoW to play it your computer would explode as well.

No it is absolutely not, the game isn't even in alpha yet. You're contradicting yourself. I already stated my concerns about the legitimacy of the developer through my observations of what they have put out so far, next time try harder to find flaws in my logic, okay? Sheesh.

This is what we need. This game will fail with what engine they are using it on and the game looks very ugly and also it won't be released anytime soon. Also if it did release I wouldn't buy it. SAO game is what I need.
