Server Warping
 

Hello so i asked several admins today why players can't server warp via idevice and none gave me a response so i thought i'd make a thread asking the players whether they would think something like that is good or bad so do you guys think we should be able to travel around servers yes or no? and if the admins didn't reply for a Legit reason maybe you would like you state now so we all know why it is prohibited?

Just switch the app. Ez.

It is possible, but don't know how important it is for the Graal Management, since people can easily switch the application too.

Well iEra and iClassic are also available as a free app. And iZone will follow soon. Why a server warp when people can just log on with their iDevices by switching the app?

i wasnt just talking about warping to other iservers

You just asked for a way to travel between servers, which is warping. So whats up?

I can't understand why all servers aren't added to the iServers list. Zodiac especially would be epic to have on iServers

Ignoring the incredibly massive issue of compatability? Imagine trying to play Zodiac on your iOS as the server is.

Lunacy? Yes. Is Zodiac working on an iOS version? Last I heard, yes. Should you be patient? Yes.

Individuals/Servers can ask for a devices to be serverwarped for testing purposes.

I wanted to try some chatting script out for iPod. I'll try to PM a higher up staff member on iOS to server warp me.

We have a serverwarp set up on iEra to test Delteria on iOS and Facebook Clients. It's fairly easy. But, if we warped you to your servers, you wouldn't be able to move as you don't have the iPhone scripts on your server. Also a lot of things would be broken as your server most likely is not an iPhone server.

Not necessarily true. Since iEra/iClassic are Login Servers, their scripts are privileged and can follow you to other servers. If the iServer doesn't remove them on warp, they will all be available on the next server but only the clientside part will work.

Some certain staff members abused this to use staff tools (boots, mouse warp) on other servers -_-

I coded it into the Zone iPhone Staff Tool so that you can only use it if (getservername() == "Login Zone iPhone") :D

I believe every iPhone server has some sort of protection for this as of now.

Just wondering, why is Zone iPhone a log in server along with era and classic? What's the difference?

They have to be a login server otherwise the graal6 modified mac client would have to be booted into login1 or login2 before being able to commence into an iPhone server. It would be different if there was a centralized iPhone login server, but there isn't.

Basically, there's a security added to where you must pass through a login server before you can connect to other servers, this is in place so you can get all tools (RC, playerlist, gelat shop, etc) before entering a playerworld.

This is some what true, most classes travel with you since iera and iclassic are login servers but a majority of the functions are locked to that login server with extra security. So a server warp to a non idevice server would not work.

Any server you connect to first is a Loginserver. Basically, if you rent a server, put some scripts there, redirect the client to connect to that one first, all the weapons and classes will follow you. I know this because I've personally done it before.

Yea, that makes sense. Otherwise, no one would be able to get any complimentary server tools like the playerlist or RC even.
