New Gani Talent!
iEra is in need of more gani artists!
We have a small shortage on gani artists to get the content we need done, finished on time. So this is how I'm going to do this, seeing as not many people know how to Gani unless you're a old PC Graal player, I'm going to help you learn how, and if you've got what it takes, maybe we can get you on board! Here is a link to a tutorial made by NJC, Thank you for this! it saved me many hours: http://www.graalians.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12522 When you feel you have a good concept of how the program works, you can email me at [email protected] with some of your work. I'll try to get back to you in a reasonable amount of time. My goal here is not to find the "king of Ganis" but to find people who are interested in learning, I'm willing to teach those who are willing to learn. As for the thread any questions, suggestions, or assistance needed feel free to post in here. |
I should look into it even though I just know GFX (Thank you ;) it would be fun to expand.
I would love to do something like this :o time to learn :D
Good luck everyone!
Once i got the hang of it, i become fairly good with them:) |

I know how to gani but I don't know about being hired for era.
I would also suggest Gani Artists to learn what the Loop, Continuous, SetBack, etc settings do.
Also open up the .gani file with notepad++ and try to understand how it is working, an advanced gani artist should be able to gani within the notepad++ and add special effects (color effects, alpha (transparencies), zoom effects, etc to sprites)...it may look like scripting but it's not (although if you are also a scripter, you can add scripts/particle/emitters to your gani as well). I will be changing the light saber ganis when I have time to show you guys what I mean |
If anyone needs any help at all, or has any questions feel free to direct them to my email, send me a website PM, or just simply post in here!
(Please don't try to contact me in game, I tend to get thousands of PM's and never get to read them) |

They should still be in the ganis folder unless someone deleted them |
:)i ve send u some of my animation works:)
plz check it:D |
You sent me images :P I'm looking for Ganis! (Graal Animations) if you'd like to look into learning how to gani I linked a tutorial in the first post, I hope this helped. :D
How ever the images where really nice, I think you have the potential to gani if you're able to make animated images this well. Either way check up on that tutorial! look forward to seeing some of your work. |

This position is open if any more would like to show me their work :D
Again this isn't about being the best gani artist! this is about learning if you're willing to take the time and dedicate to learning, I'm willing to take the time to teach! Follow the tutorial in my first post and if you need any advanced help from that point, Then post in here or send me a email! |
Be sure to send Ace some work!
You never know, it could turn out well :) |
You don't ALWAYS have to repeat exactly what the person above you has said. Just sayin'
Now now, so was i.
At first when I saw the graal shop I tought: what the heck does this all do , and then I saw iRockstar's guide I kinda got the hang of it, just the ani is too quick. I still dunno how to add my gfx into the graalshop. And I kinda abused it a little lol.
Well Zay, if you look in my first post on the first page I have a tuttorial linked that will show you the basics and how to add custom images and how to expand the time so it's not so quick :D hope this helped.
Thx, ill look at it :)
Oh that tut... I got bored at the few parts of the tut(not to be mean , njc ,hehe), just read the important parts , oh and I use adobe photoshop cs3, I don't use paint.net since the download(for me)took ages , any other gfx apps I can use to add my sprites? Might considering microsoft bla bla bla(I forgot the name). |
Gani
Are you still hiring? Hehe x3
Well, they made this thread a few days ago, I think they are.
I'm missing the hands from the idle gani, can someone post it?
Cheers. |

I selected the gfx but it didn't show the x&y coordinates.
Use the tutorial, it shows you how to get the numbers, IDK what program you're using so I don't know where it's located. but it's there you just need to look for it :D
A good way to get used to animating is just loading a pre existing gani and modifying/pull it apart and just see how it works and get used to the GUI. Props to Bboy for telling me that, i managed to pick it up really quick.
Also as Lavaclaw stated, playing around with pre existing Ganis will help you understand how they work,
I know it helped me :) |
Yea, if you want body parts like v was asking, quickest way i find is to load up an era pc gun, delete all the guns gfxs and you have all the hand/arm parts already there

Repeating exactly what he said |
As I stated in my last post, I use adobe photoshop cs3, I used olie's bone thrower as an example . But there got no numbers.
Adobe photoshop isnt gani'ing, graalshop is
I mean , I use it for making gfx.
Whats gfxing got todo with ganiing
Images?

When I try and make my animations for each view (up, down, left and right) it replaces the previous view with the current. So when I animate my up, its different to my down, so it replaces down. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
Hmmm frames?
Yeah, yeah.
The blue bars at the bottom.
Problem solved, thanks.
All good.

Use Paint. It's free, already installed on your computer and it's simple to get the x,y and width and height.
Its the first four sets of numbers you use (from the left to right). For example (2,12) [45, 76.] (x,y) [w/h] of rectangle around the sprite |
I used it and numbers didn't work
Then use paint.net
Or Microsoft Paint
Of see if it's an 8 bit image
