Murder Mystery Play Reviews

*SPOILER ALERT* if you haven't seen the play you may want to stop reading

This play was right around my expectations. Comic relief from hermes and vlad (and a couple other characters at times) kept me interested enough for a while. Of course they were killed off a little later. Towards the end writing went down the hole and the play became predictable and boring. There were more typos and words left out in sentences than I expected as well. Although, it was something new and it was virtually free. So for a first play, take a bow and look to improve next time.
*keep in mind I saw the second showing, and this is just my personal opinion

Write your own review here. Try not to clog it up with arguments though. That gets annoying.

Nabazazi 10-29-2011 06:15 AM

ive never herd of the play

Tyler 10-29-2011 06:21 AM

I never got to finish it since I got warped out for not moving. From what I saw it was ok. The effects were cool, the script was alright, comedy was pretty funny. I can't really say much more until I see the rest. Third showing is on Sunday I heard. The main complaint I have is just the fact that if you don't move for awhile, you get disconnected and warped.

Nabazazi 10-29-2011 06:32 AM

where is this

°Seeker99 10-29-2011 06:41 AM

I didn't get to see it. I was pretty disappointed.

You can still see it on Sunday.

LiA 10-29-2011 06:53 AM

It was way too predictable. I guessed the killer from the beginning scenes. It would've been better if the two detectives actually had more lines instead of the other 4 random players. That would've made it more mysterious. And actually the audience seats refreshes you after awhile so you don't get disconnected.

I have to agree with you there. It was pretty obvious when he left 'to check the back door' or whatever.

LavaClaw 10-29-2011 07:19 AM

Same happened to me Tyler, i got warped out right at the start because the lag disconnected me. What's worse is that you cant view it again so you cant finish it :/

mr froggy 10-29-2011 02:07 PM

i didnt get to see it i was online but out front of the door it was to laggy and when the lag infront of door died down it was closed cause it was full or somthing like that =(

I don't know for sure. I forgot to ask Storm. She said it would be earlier then the one on Friday. I'll ask her today and see if she knows.

Manji 10-29-2011 04:49 PM

No offense but I didn't like it, I mean I LOVED the store stuff but I didn't like the play itself, i got in half way through and had NO idea what was going on, but the store was good. The prices were very reasonable and you can't complain about it

iHot 10-29-2011 06:58 PM

I loved the comedy meh a 3/4 there were moments when i thought that this will happen etc.

Yeah it sucks. Hopefully if they do another play next time it will be fixed. It was really hard for me to get in to the insane lag outside.

1 line per minute, poor organization, terrible execution. Too much hype for such a mediocre event.

Furryamigo 10-29-2011 08:41 PM

10/10. I loved all the little bloopers and interactive bits that happened.

LOL?

What are you trying to prove? Prove the fact that I bought a hat, saw the show, and rated it 1/10? Honestly, get a brain.

#1. It's a game, chill out.
#2. You used a lowercase p in the word prove.
#3. Movies are rated on a scale of 1-4.
Oh yeah how can i forget i already developed a brain. It still develops every single day.

What things were sold and how much? I never went :( And did it have any costs to actually enter

Congratulations on spell checking/grammar checking your response, now how about you hop off and get some real brains, common sense is a start. If someone had to review something, they would have to see it, no? So why would you make an idiotic comment about me buying the hat in the theater?

Stop dodging.

I'm trying to make a point here critics always lie hell maybe you loved the play maybe you just wanted to bash it cause nobody else did there is several words on what im doing that you may call idiotcy theres theroy, idea, educated guess, etc. Btw the hat comment wasn't stupid the fact you simply watched the show meant you liked it. Oh yeah you dodged my first 3 comments you should reflect on those especially the first one.

Izarin 10-29-2011 10:40 PM

Hey, guys. I was in the play, not the audience, but please excuse us for our small mistakes and such. We tried our hardest to provide an entertaining 15-30 minutes, but obviously at some points the play went completely off script. If another play happens, I'm sure we will do our best to keep it from getting so off track. As for our spelling mistakes, quite a few of us were on low generations. I, for example, had autocorrect glitch from the lag and turn hour into hoe! We can't all be perfect, and I ask you remember that. Thank you for coming to watch us, whether you enjoyed it or not. :)

Gambit Drakul 10-29-2011 11:45 PM

I'm guessing I predicted right?:) Well I'm glad its over so we can move on to bigger and better things now.

SireCloud 10-30-2011 12:00 AM

I did not get to see the play, but by reading the reviews understand that the play was predictable and the people made a few mistakes. An idea for the future is use a pre-existing play that all actors can receive an actual script to read during the play. Any other ideas?

Lykke 10-30-2011 01:49 AM

They did ALL receive a scripted play to work off of.

And some hated it. That's fine. It was our first try, and Gambit, if more plays happen, try for some new arguments. Because not everyone thinks like you. As shown by Furry.

And while we all received scripts, Vlad and Tucker decided to improvise way more than was needed. Also, Vlad was a sub who went out of control. Some bits were funny, but leaving other cast members to keep the play on track was highly irritating.

Rexx 10-30-2011 04:11 AM

It was a theater play on graal...

now re-read that statement, honestly what did you expect it was going to be the next Grease or something lol..
that would be awesome xD

We should honestly listen to this.

Higbey 10-30-2011 05:04 AM

I think the obvious smarter thing would have been to use npcs or made a movie, npcs can always do the play, never mess up, you don't need to wait a minute for them to type out each sentence, and don't "improvise"

Of course maybe having a better mystery writer would have helped, maybe a twist in the plot?

A movie would be cool maybe there will be another theater for that sometime. But there is a certain thing about live plays and they should stay around, too.

And yeah twist in the plot is always something a mystery definitely needs.

I actually got warped out twice. The first time was during the first showing my chat was stuck so I logged on and off and before I knew it I got warped. A little warning about moving around so you don't get disconnected and not logging off would have been helpful.

I didn't get to see it, but judging by that video and what people said it didn't turn out so well? :p What was that giant pause all about? Stage fright perhaps ;)

I get that it's a joke. Just making that clear. But the way it was explained to us was... Stefan made last minute changes and we didn't know, and we couldn't talk again. :/

If you didn't realize, I was the first one trying to talk. I know my script. Az fixed it for us, I believe, or Stefan did. And you know me. I wouldn't have forgotten my script, and we all had a printed script with us. And, since I'm a total grammar Nazi. "Riiiiight, Last minute changes. That pause was, like, LONG. lmao no one studied their script?" :P

Had it printed out and still had that long pause and from what I'm reading it was really unorganized way to go and score a 1/10 Lol

Izarin 10-31-2011 07:12 PM

Gambit, have you missed a few grades, or forgotten how to read? The pause was no fault of ours. Some people actually enjoyed the play and can comprehend a scripting problem which was quickly fixed. And I thought you were educated. Or able to.. I dunno? Not act like an idiot? :)

Seriously, every time i come across a topic, i see people trying to be the better person in that topic.. *Cough* Epic Kolossals Topic *Cough*

Anyways, it sounded like the first play was at an average rating. I was gonna give it a terrible rating for the speech pauses but it was ok.

And seriously, have you guys even tested the scripts before doing the play? You should have.. You people had alot of free time with your hands on this one. No one screws up in the middle of a play. Thats embarrassing you know.. And that put no scare freight in anyone.. Just pure boredom..

You make very good points, and the majority of the problems came from Tucker, who didn't give two damns about his grammar and such, and Vlad, who wasn't even supposed to be in the play. Alas, our true Bryan was entirely absent. And we did practice. Every night. Tucker skipped most. Didn't work on his grammar or punctuation, and Storm and I are both unimpressed. Elly should have kicked him. But that's an entirely different rant. :/

Rexx 10-31-2011 10:23 PM

People were saying it sucked and they didn't even mention the misspells and bad grammar

callimuc 10-31-2011 11:18 PM

That thing was full after 2 seconds yesterday. Just looked away for 2 seconds and saw than that it was oppened but closed the same time cause it was too full.
