Classic on Android - Discussion
 

Just wanted to create a discussion thread for those who have the app on android. I'm currently enjoying the new release, however there are lots of bugs, most specifically the in-consistency with the graphics.

Overall i'm happy though, would like some friendly discussion here!

I mostly want to know if keyboard or controller will work with android graal.

I love it, so glad it was finally done. Problems I've noticed is when other players or things on your screen turn into boxes. Also, I cannot open a persons profile by clicking on there name from any of the leaderboards. And along with the guy above me, it'd be awesome if they added support for Bluetooth controllers. And like my Rezon said the graphics are off. Other then these things its great!

they got a free hat which a lot of people are biching about it.

I'm not sure why people would complain about Android users getting a hat though; after all, it is just a hat that very few people will wear anyway.


Also, it's common for companies to release items exclusively for newly-supported operating systems; for instance, when Team Fortress 2 became available for Mac, Mac users received a cosmetic item: virtual Apple Earbuds.

Personally i would see the rumble caused about this hat, its got great graphics and is cool.

meanwhile cinco de mayo just got released hats which suck xD why can't coco (the maker of the android hat) make all the hats..

Fixed, I've used Graalians server to upload images but they seem to delete themselves after a few hours... Uploaded via imgur.

Couple really annoying bugs I've noticed:
- everything turns to boxes randomly
-screen distorts when entering levels
-random black boxes flashing when loading anything to do with the UI

I don't think the android players can strafe.. we have the exact same controls iDevice players have.

It would be cool to be able to tell if a player was using android or ios. In the corner of every players screen it could either show a green robot for android, or a grey apple for ios. Pc players could also have a little graphic of a laptop there too.

That'll just encourage witch hunting - people will rage about players on android/pc even more than now.

Don't know why people complain about android it doesn't seem faster then an idevice, in my opinion its just as fast as the 4g iPod. For Now just wait til I root my android and over clock it woo:D

I'm sure Admins were aware of hackers and have some sort of way to prevent them.
Over clocking it isn't a hack its not like I'll have a speed hack it will just make my phone not lag.

Why does everyone assume I bought my Android just for the hat? When my second gen broke two years ago I bought this as a replacement, and I intend on using it as my main device for Graal, and my only device.

There are hundreds of different Android phones, some are much faster than the new iPhone.

We have cheat engine clients that can only change client values, which makes it pretty much useless for Graal.

Unless someone were to make a hacking tool specifically for Graal. (which I highly doubt would happen) the hacks would most likely suck. considering to do anything cool, it would require server hacking which is just plain stupid to attempt in the first place and nearly impossible. no one is hacking anytime soon.

It was a joke since you guys can use the keyboard with your tablets.

Can we get this on topic? Although it's probably impossible with this community..

I've heard rumors that although they are categorized on spar scoreboards as "Phone/Tablet" instead of "Facebook", Android clients will be categorized as "Mixed" in GST events, instead of iDevice. So although you are using a similar mobile device, you will be treated like a player on a PC. Seems to me like the iDevice GST will be less filled than before if this is the case. Any thoughts on that?

Also, I don't get why people should be upset about the Android hat. I mean, its ugly anyway. What would you want, an iPhone on your head? An apple symbol? I'm sure those people will live without one little hat lol.

Since Android players get a hat iPhone players should get a major gameplay advantage to make it fair.

Seems stupid to me, the only reason why they're probably doing this is because of the keyboard support. Keyboard support is most likely going to come to IOS soon anyways. Android should be classified in the same category as IOS, both systems have their respective advantages, however they're still fairly similar.

I don't have a keyboard, nor do I ever plan on getting one. If this happens, I won't be doing GSTs. It's really unfair to those who don't use keyboards.

I'm glad they finally released Graal on android, I was always out of luck whenever I felt like playing it away from home. But hey, it's better than having to carry my iPad around the world...

If the community sucks why do you keep posting. Since you feel youre above us you should go do what you do best and kiss ass in the official forums. All the previous post had to do with the android update so I don’t know why you come here with the stick up your back.
I think only one player was serious about the hat thing.

Actually, I think the GST team submissions were still up during the Android release, and they said 'Mobile Team'. Of course, you could no longer submit a team.
