Lagging/Crashing

As a frequent GraalOnline Era player, Graal needs an 'anti-lag and crash bug fixes' update.
People (like me) are lagging like hell and random crashes all the way.
My brother and myself lag and crash all the time but my friend however has the latest iPod and never crashes or lags . Is there are way to fix lagging and crashing on the old iPods and iPhones?
Thanks,
Thunderstørm

Remove jailbreak.

InuKaT 09-03-2011 02:04 AM

Take off image animations, sounds and music :) also take off nicknames instant antidote it reduces lag 50% for me only crashes if you enter a highly populated area with 500 people talking

Same problem?

InuKaT 09-03-2011 02:54 AM

And unfortunatly from my knowledge I assume there will be no easy way of getting rid of lag, due to number of players, size of server, and the script content inside. The game and all it's files are inside one app under 50 mb so it's hard to not lag. Pc doesn't lag and crash because it downloads quickly onto your computer but iPod is different story because it has lower whatever that fancy word is for computer power

callimuc 09-03-2011 02:55 AM

RAM!

Tried it on my Old 2G with Jailbreak... didnt work :(

Rok 09-03-2011 03:05 AM

Fortunately Jailbreaking your iPod doesn't increase your lag, unless your running backgrounds and app modifications and the like....ANYWAYS.....where was I? Ahh, I find it much less laggy when you turn off music and sound. Truth is, a large percentage of players listen to their own tunes while playing. If you run Pandora or a radio application while playing, that'll add lag too, obviously. ;)

It does. Even when I have no extra backgrounder, ... it´s lagging like hell. Without its.. ok

i dont play music or sound, but i crash when theres a lot of people (auction house i cant even go inside to bid) and it takes a while for it to start up again + it is overall pretty laggy :|

Greengaw 09-04-2011 12:16 AM

Thunderstorm I have the same problem as you. Do you have the 2nd Gen iPod Touch?

Ohh...mine works just fine. Hardly no lag except in rooms with 50+ such as events or auctions.

yer my bro's isnt too bad he crashes quite a bit, but theres not much lag and it starts up fairley easily

Jatz 09-04-2011 05:51 AM

I barely play on my iDevice these days, but here are some common logic solutions to reduce crashes

1) Make sure you're only running the one app and aren't Multitasking/Backgrounding any apps.
The iDevice has alot less ram to dedicate towards your app than say, on a computer.

2) As was mentioned before, disable image animations and sound, aswell as setting the 'font' to the simpler font (Less to render)

3) Stick closer to your access point.
The further away from your wifi access point you are the harder your iDevice has to work to keep up the connection.

4) Log out in your house or an area that is commonly quiet.
I have noticed that the most common time for the app to crash is when logging on. (Personally anyway) That is because the ipod is attempting to set up a connection with EVERY SINGLE CLIENT nearby at the same time.
Think about it, if you log into a quieter area, less connections to set up, meaning an easier job for your device.

Thunderstorm 09-04-2011 05:53 AM

Thanks Jatz :)

Tricxta 09-04-2011 06:00 AM

Crashing isn't caused by bad network reception, its more the devices inability to cope with the amount of data being handled so running only one app is the go but you don't need good network reception necessarily. 2nd gen iPhones/iPods are pretty notorious for crashing on era so if your device is 2nd gen or less then theres not really much you can do...

That is what i was kinda meaning, but i failed at explaining it. but the more free ram the device has, the more able it is to cope with the amount of data.

Thunderstorm 09-04-2011 06:04 AM

yer well the iphone 3g cant even multitask lol

how did you stop crash, same ways suggested by jatz and others?

iDylan 09-05-2011 10:48 AM

or you get an 4g device?
got my ipod 4 for like 5 weeks now, and havent crashed a single time.

ZenthorCanavi 09-05-2011 11:14 AM

not sure if this was already mentioned but if you re install the app I'm pretty sure it decreases the apps loading time.

iDylan 09-05-2011 11:23 AM

that's right, but it increases the lagg alot.

neon 09-05-2011 03:04 PM

Well, as mentioned, you lag and crash because of the 2g device. I have the same problem... Need more RAM like the 3/4g ones.. Hopefully I get one soon too lol.

Yes it does, but you will need to do this each week if you want to keep avoiding the lag and crashings cause it will start doing it again.

Billy 09-06-2011 06:17 AM

I lag for others but I don't lag for myself :P I don't know why

This would initially cause more lag, because all images/gani's etc are stored clientside and you would have to redownload them.
