BurgerBatman 11-06-2011 07:39 PM

battlefield 3 is where its at .

Pauli 11-06-2011 08:00 PM

You know it MW3 is good in Single player but BF3 is beast in Multi player ;)

Shaun 11-06-2011 08:18 PM

I'll be playing it in 4 days :)

LavaClaw 11-06-2011 08:25 PM

I find CoD is just the same thing each game, just with a new single player and new guns/maps for multiplayer. That's why i'm getting BF3.

My thoughts exactly.

What is released in every new CoD could be easily achievable by download content. Not a new $60 game.
But why should they change? People are willing to fork over the money every few months. Its a genius business plan, really.

And as far as single player...who plays CoD single player? Everyone knows you run to the store, buy your game, run home and immediately start screaming at people how much they suck and how you had their mother last night.

Tyler 11-06-2011 09:10 PM

I want to get this so bad, but I'm broke.

Kavan 11-06-2011 10:01 PM

Been saving up to buy this the day after tomorrow.

you miss the entire POINT of Call of Duty.
The point is that it is a direct sequel, a straight pickup from RIGHT after Modern Warfare 2 left off. Trust me, the first mission as the S.A.S. will have you in Nikolai's helicopter. In the course of 2 days are all the weapons used back in those 2 days supposed to go defunct? no. And what exactly is better about battlefield, when all THEY add to their sequel is a little HUD Shake, a new campaign, 3 attachments to EACH gun, and hardly any variety in any multiplayer? yes, there are vehicles in BF, understood. But also remember that said vehicles are usually driven by a 10 year old masochist on a thirst for roadkill. And the jets? how are you going to use them when all the 5 year olds are crashing them into the bay? Modern Warfare 3 also houses different variety in their Gameplay, new attachments, always a new goal. BF lets you BUY this. So while you are aching for that Scar-L in 13 levels, some little child in Bulgaria has a sniper rifle and a whole lotta madness and he gets you across the map. In which in CoD, everyone is leveling up. The hackers aren't a problem if you have some skill.
Battlefield 3 is NOT a sequel to BF:Bad Company 2. It is a sequel to PS2 game Battlefield 2. So we might see some old techniques thrown in, such as the overpowered MGs. yes, i remember that.
Modern Warfare 3 is consistent. They find ways to make your expirience better without taking out anything you love. It's a level playing field for CoD. As opposed to battlefield 3, in which the playing field is up and down.

(oh, and we got a scottish dude with a beard, and someone with a mohawk working on the same team. you got 4 hairy dudes.)

fp4 11-06-2011 11:03 PM

Getting it for the PS3, probably won't play online much due to my internet lag attacks though.

CoD for lone wolves, BF3 for teamwork. (:

Activision has done a much better job in marketing this game than EA has with BF3. Just wish they'd patch BF3 already so it didn't have so many technical issues.

DarkKnight 11-07-2011 04:49 AM

EWW COD. ITS JUST SO LAME! I 100% agree with LavaClaw.

LavaClaw 11-07-2011 06:03 AM

@WorriedGhozt
I know, i've played MW2, it's the last CoD im ever buying until they add new content. Thats what i've been talking about, i love new content in games, not just the same old objectives and such .Since i love working as a team, the 64 player maps for pc has got me really hooked, this is why i want BF3 over MW3.

Erm, the game is based off of modern warfare, there's a reason there's not too much change. You can't change war a whole lot until it becomes just another trashed FPS.

1. CoD is nothing like war
2. CoD is just another trashed video game experiencing the same milking guitar hero got from Activision.

Rexx 11-07-2011 11:46 PM

True MW2 player here, Black Ops is lame
BF3 is okay but the gameplay doesnt feel as tight as CoD

BF3 was built for casual players... I don't find anything hardcore about BF3 because it lacks alot in representation.. Im not gonna lie, the visuals look damn amazing... But the gameplay makes me wanna snore.. and with the BF3 campaign (which lasted for 4 hours and had a generic storyline), BF3 was a visual masterpiece which ended up in a somewhat ok multiplayer shooter that is fun when you play it in bursts...

CoD:Mw3 is not the same shooter you've been playing again and again! (I have the actual copy of the game). Once you ignore the crappy deja vu menu screen, the new features got my attention real good!

You had one awesome survival mode (Which you can bring three other friends along with for 3 times the fun) which is crazy! There was no menu shop by pressing start... Oh no... You had to run to one of three different boxes... the Air support shop, the weapon shop, and the perks shop... You unlock these by leveling up in survival mode which then you can use to continue fighting the most cruel of waves.. (Suicide Bombers, Juggernauts, Attack Choppers, Soldiers, Attack Dogs, Soldiers with C4, etc.)... Its intense!

The Multiplayer is somewhat ok but it had some impressive features... The new class system entirely changes the way you play from now on... and the Kill confirmed system now makes sure campers will have a hard time in MW3...

The campaign (which is 5 hours) pretty much followed the trilogy (UNLIKE BATTLEFIELD 3!) and is the michael bay of all shooters! EXPLOSIONS, EPIC GUNFIGHTS, CLIMATIC SCENES, INTENSE ACTION, AND A HUGE IN-CHARACTER DETAIL)...

Modern warfare 3 murders BF3 in every perspective except the visuals...
Do not take Modern warfare 3 for another plain shooter...

Beat the campaign. I liked it. See no reason to complain. Level 31 online so far. Liked it better than BF3.

I'm not saying they should adjust the way the game is played, just add new, good features.

Dusty 11-09-2011 05:04 AM

I enjoy Call of Duty, but I can still see the problem with it, a problem that Activision is pretty damn vocal about: it's all about the money. The CEO of Activision pretty much said that he wanted to turn it into a yearly franchise because people will buy it. They also do it with all their other titles and eventually killed them.

Do I enjoy CoD? Yes. But you know what, I'd probably enjoy it for another year or two if they didn't release another version with updates that could have been done via patches. See, the problem is is that they will release a new version. Everyone goes "OGMOMFGOMFGOMFG" and go buy it, and the people who are aware of what's going on end up either being left behind(all your friends have MW3 now, enjoy Black Ops by your lonesome) or getting it. It's a ****ing harsh circle that is now happening on a yearly schedule.

LavaClaw 11-09-2011 05:07 AM

Or break free from the cycle and buy another game, it's not as if everyone will only play MW3, for example, me and a good few friends are buying Skyrim (<3) instead of MW3.

Yes, in your example. But no, seriously, the people I bother to play with will indeed have much passion for playing any Call of Duty that comes out. And you know, it doesn't bother me that much, because in the end I still enjoy playing it with them anyways.

Yeah, that's extremely annoying in my opinion. Everyones going like "Omg I'm going to prestige and become number 1!" then the next thing you know a new Call of Duty comes out and they toss the old one aside. I wish it wasn't like that because they're going to run out of ideas eventually if they keep doing this. They also have Treyarch working on Call of Duty games so there's an estimated 2-3 Call of Duty games a year.

They've been putting out one every November which is far less than your 2-3 a year statement. There's constant collaboration between the studios who work on the series. There's been MW (07), CoD5 (08), MW2 (09), BLOPS (10), and now MW3 (11). At least get your facts straight.

Sledgehammer Games, Infinity Ward, and a few people from Treyarch all contributed to Modern Warfare 3.

CoD is just the new FPS Madden.

Besides, both sides are getting ****ed by Activision and EA anyway.

Alright well not 2-3 games a year I was just going by guess, but I still think every of couple of years would be better then every year so people can really sync into the game and not have to worry about saving up for the new one that's released every year. That's just my opinion. I just hate ranking up and then a new game comes out and you need to rank up all over again.

Shaun 11-12-2011 08:02 PM

I spent 8 hours playing it yesterday :) Survival FTW, I got to like round 30 on Resistance only using the Model 1887 and a Magnum .44.

I agree, if they put out another CoD next year they're going to overkill the series.
Activision is going to kill off another series...guess they haven't yet learned from what they did to Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero.

They've covered all war settings past and present, unless they do something like GRAW or BF: 2142 I don't see how they can refresh the series without killing it.
