So i went onto my favourite chatroom and asked this, and nobody knew about it. So im gonna ask here :)
Is anyone else excited for Animal Crossing: New Leaf?

Yeah I preordered it :D

I'm currently playing through the gamecube version of animal crossing and getting my hype levels up. One more week... oh.... I can't wait! This game is going to suck away my life!

Gamecube was best version imo, for the fishing itself. I hope they fixed fishing this time around.

Yeah, this game seems to be the first "True sequel" to the original animal crossing from what I've seen. Wild World and City Folk were just slight updates.

I thought it was coming out on the 9th. A day before my birthday. But no, in Australia we get everything a week later. So it's coming out on the 15th. Fml.

I played a bit more today, did not expect to be so absorbed into it this quickly. I am obsessed with fishing, I caught 2 sharks already :D This is a really nice break from shooting people all the time.

How does fishing compare to the other games?

In Gamecube when you cast out, your bobber would slowly move back to shore. This made it easy to cast PAST the fish and wait for it to pass the fish for a bite.

In the sequels they made the bobber float out to sea, which meant you had to cast before the fish, which was really hard when the fish was close to shore. It was a pain trying to precisely cast to actually get a bite.

I prefer the Gamecube method, and imo they broke fishing when they changed that simple thing(and also making red snappers much less rare on rainy day mornings :() If they fixed the bobber thing I will be über happy.

The bobber floats with the current. My town has a waterfall so the current up top flows downwards, at sea, it does float away from shore, however I have only encountered about 5 or so fish that were really close to shore making it hard to cast. They do move locations however, so eventually they swim farther out making it easy again.

Timmy and Tommy's shop closed just as I was going to buy a shovel. :( Looks like I'm done for tonight.

Nice! Those are supposed to be really rare.

I keep seeing a "shark" but it turns out to be an ocean sunfish thingy. Any tips?
