iOS 7 Beta: First Look
Now that WWDC 2013 has just passed, developers have been given access to the beta of iOS 7. Here is a quick preview of what to expect.
(By the developer agreement, I cannot show you anything that Apple has not officially shown to the public yet, only features that have been demonstrated by them can be revealed. If you have already watched the keynote, then there is nothing new to see here.) This is the new Lock Screen. For the first time, iOS comes with animated wallpapers, as well as being able to open Notification Center from the Lock Screen. Unlocking the device, we are greeted with all-new app icons. I've also downloaded GraalOnline Classic. If the device is tilted around, the background actually moves along with the motions, giving a slight feeling of depth. A new and very useful feature is Control Center, which can be summoned by swiping up from the bottom of the screen anywhere. Control Center allows the user to toggle settings such as Wi-Fi, change the brightness, control media playback, and access a few common apps. Also note here is the toggle for AirDrop, a Bluetooth-based media sharing framework that allows the user to effortlessly share things like photographs or videos (from the Camera Roll) to other iOS 7 users nearby. The App Switcher now displays previews of each app. The user can close an app by simply swiping upwards. And this is what happens when you try to play Graal on iOS 7. The reason for this is because the server runs security checks to see which devices and OS are being used to access it. If it does not recognise a device or OS, it prevents the user from logging on in case it was a hacker who somehow broke in. iOS 7 will be supported on: iPhone 4 (all revisions) iPhone 4S (all revisions) iPhone 5 (all revisions) iPad 2 (all models) iPad mini (all models) iPad 3rd generation (all models) iPad 4th generation (all models) iPod touch 5th generation |
I was just looking into it before. Personally, I love the simple new design. I'm also excited for the Control Center. It looks like SBSettings, one of the most popular parts of jailbreaking. I can't wait for this to be released, it looks awesome all together.

Does it support .gifs?
|
It looks a lot like Windows Phone 8 to me.
|
eww I don't like the look of it at all...

So obvious they are ripping off Android.
Those icons are ugly as hell too. |
looks bad, try again.
|
Cant wait :B
|
And I thought iPhone couldn't get any more girlier..
|
Though I'll be getting an HTC One sometime soon, this actually looks really nice. Will it be available to models below the i5?
|
It looks like one of the ugly themes which you can get from Cydia. It just looks so girly... and too much like an Android.
|
You guys realize there'll be more customization to the themes... It's just the default that has the bubbles and rainbows.

I honestly don't know what to think of this.
|
I don't like the icons. With a good theme, though, I think I'd like the rest a lot.

android 2: the electric boogaloo
So minimalistic and bleh. |
The control center is apples SBsettings. Looks like IOS 7 isn't anything to special. Not great enough to ditch my jailbroken iPhone 4.
|
Darn -.- doesn't support my iPod 4th gen or my regular iPad. Darn -.-
|
iPad 2?

It's iPad 2 and up and iPhone 4 and up. Not sure about iPods, though. |

Its f***ing ugly. Ugly icons. Ugly dock. Animated lock screen? ok cool, but its not like ill use it. I also predict iTunes and the AppStore are also taking another huge degrade.
What the hell happened to Apple's simple, sheik, clean-cut, modern look? Ill just wait for Apple to come up with resurrection technology to bring back Steve Jobs to make things better again. |
I'm an Android user and even I don't use live wallpapers. Maybe whenever I'm trying to show off or something.
They're an unnecessary waste of battery and CPU usage. Can't complain having the option to have one I guess. |

Midori -
Do you find the tilt effect on the app screens distracting or annoying at all? It just seems like it might be sort of nauseating if everything moves all the time with just a little movement of the iDevice. Like motion-sickness. |

The movement can be disabled under accessibility settings. |
The old icons were better.

Great. Now iphones can look like my Android phone.
|
I think it's decent but I'd much prefer iOS 6. It runs rather slowly on my iPhone 4 (CDMA).
