Lucid dreaming/Sleep hypnosis video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&fe...&v=lTAwdgf1nZE
I just did this and it was actually rather enjoyable. I wouldn't say that I necessarily had a lucid dream but I felt very at ease and kind of weightless in a sense. It's a very interesting video to listen to. Post your results and your thoughts on it. :)

Myst 07-18-2013 10:09 AM

i thought it would be a jump scare video

Crono 07-18-2013 10:50 AM

iDylan 07-18-2013 11:29 AM

Especially when you get out of it, only to go right back into it.
:(

I listened to it for an hour doing exactly as she said until she said Goodnight. I then proceeded to watching Vsauce

wildkeldeo 07-19-2013 06:12 AM

Ummm ok. What if you're already a lucid dreamer? Am I super lucid now?!

*Rose 07-19-2013 06:52 AM

Too scared to watch lol

There's nothing scary about it. It's not a jump video or something. It's really relaxing.

Platinum 07-19-2013 01:12 PM

I've done Lucid Dreaming before. I met Stephen Amell

EDIT:
Just tried it last night, and succeeded! I formed the world into Skyrim, and it was amazing because I was defeating dragons with all the things I had in the game. I edited my stats to make them a little too OP though. It's exhilarating because you can control everything in your dream once you get the hang of it.

The idea of lucid dreaming and the possibility that you can master lucid dreaming, as in when you do lucid dream you can do whatever you want without waking yourself up, really interests me lol

*Rose 07-19-2013 08:08 PM

I burst out laughing once she said "Go make me a sandwhich" lmaoo

Nabu Lapse 07-20-2013 03:02 PM

I got like 30 minutes into it and I will admit it was actually pretty relaxing, I couldn't really get it to work all that much though.

whats sleep paralysis

when you're still asleep but your eyes are open. you try to move your body parts but you can't, because you're still technically asleep so your body is shutdown. it's pretty horrible.

some people get them + nightmares, which i imagine is even more messed up. they'll see figures walking up to them and they can't do anything because, again, body is shutdown.

Blueh 07-21-2013 02:34 PM

It didn't work for me. The video sped up my heart and made me too hyper. Things meant to be relaxing usually take the opposite effect on me lol. When my mom plays those yoga tapes it makes me more violent than tranquil.

I've had this happen to me once. I woke up and got a drink of water but when I laid down I couldn't move then it felt like I was being sucked into an abyss as the walls and ceilings around me became more metallic and gave off a deathly red glow. It wasn't a dream because my eyes were open and I was afraid to find out what would happen if I shut them. I only felt control of the uppermost part of my body above the rib cage but I was losing control quickly so I was struggling to remain in control by moving as I heard unearthly whispers and nightmares surround me. Eventually I broke free and started gasping for air.

Obviously was a "dream". You're still technically asleep, so you take what you see and begin to hallucinate.

xander 07-24-2013 11:21 PM

did this a long time ago. it turned into a horrific nightmare. i was trapped in a house then witches were chasing me to death

and i can't wake myself up :(

That reminds of some movie with Hayden Christiansen where he goes through surgery but the anasthesia only paralyzes him and he is still awake and can feel the pain.
Sounds worse than death.

Cigam 07-25-2013 03:04 AM

Gonna try this out tonight, I want to be in my dream :o

Vladamir Blackthorne 07-25-2013 03:11 AM

I would try this out but I think hearing these people talk about the sleep paralysis and nightmares and junk might just make the placebo effect kick in and garuntee such a thing lol

ZigZag44 07-25-2013 05:13 AM

the persons robo voice scares me o-o

Shurikan 07-25-2013 06:49 AM

I find this concept so interesting, two dreams two worlds.
A world of control, a world of chaos.
A dimension of freedom, a limbo of imprisonment.
It almost seems as if they are complete opposites at some points.
I have not lucid dreamt but I have had sleep paralysis.
I hallucinated and felt as if my chest was being dug into with knives. I heard satanic voices as well, and I felt as if someone was leaning over to my side breathing in whispers.
Even if I would have had the urge to turn to it, my body was a locked casket.
I struggled till my breathing became rasp of survival.
My eyes free of the curse frantically moved side to side searching for an escape.
I tried closing my eyes but they were pinned to my sockets.
I stopped struggling, submitted to the gashes being etched into my chest.
And escaped.

Haha I had sleep paralysis, this was it for me. It was freaky and I was terrified for months I thought it was some satanic thing at first. It's inspiring now. If you get in that situation the best thing to do is realize you are having SP and to relax.

kenthefruit 07-25-2013 09:32 AM

I wanna do this, but you guys are scaring the **** out of me :(... How do you wake up then, when you do?

Comfy pillow 07-25-2013 10:09 AM

Try Astral projection

HON3Y BADG3R 07-25-2013 05:26 PM

i did this, and fell asleep.. .-.

lord greg 07-25-2013 06:30 PM

So is a lucid dream where you control it?

When you are in SP? I experimented this morning (in the light) for anyone who is interested.
If you are like me, and always get up feeling tired let yourself sleep a few mins more, relax your body, and you can feel it falling asleep but keep your mind alert. When I did this my body was not able to move and I was able to watch what was happening the whole time. My eylids were hard to control as well but I was able to move my eyes. Pulling out of SP is the weirdest part for me, the only way I know to explain it is you body feels like a magnet attached to the bed, if you relaxed and try moving you arm (and imagining it peeling off the bed) it usually works.
I am not sure it this will work for everyone but if you want to experience SP without the hallucinations do it in the morning this way.

I actually woke up in the midst of sleep paralysis once. If anything, it kind of felt blissful. Of course not being able to move was odd, but it just felt so relaxing

Comfy pillow 07-26-2013 09:19 AM

Is when your in a lucid dream like you are just watching a dream but your mind is alert. If it is, it has happened to me lots of time.

kenthefruit 07-26-2013 10:01 AM

Sounds horrific ;-;

iDylan 07-26-2013 10:31 AM
