New Melee Weapon
 

Hey guys, I made this tonight wouldn't mind seeing one of these in iEra ;). Suggestions?

It still looks too kiwi-like, mess around with the blade a bit. I like to use google images for some inspiration, maybe you should look there?

I like it. Just two of the frames are blurry though :/

Actually this should go into the future improvements thread. Anyway my oppinion:

The gfx sucks (blurry, seems like you copied some sword and resized/rotated it) so they probably won´t use it. The fact in all is nice.

I tried to fix that GFX a bit so here is my try... it´s not the best but better than your version (in my oppinion).

Still too much blury. It really looks like you copied it from somewhere and just rezied/rotated it. Try to completely remake the frame.

Hey what did u do that was so much better all u did is take all the features out of the knife. You just made it not blurry, try thinking of your own melee weapon. Why are you bagging Thunderstorm when he had the idea.

Was it supposed to shoot any magical spells? Or what features did I remove out of a knife?

Anyway from what I got from your English is, that just because I improved the sprites, that I'm bagging him (?!?) and why I won't make my own thread. Well he asked for suggestions and I gave mine and gave him a tip.

i dont think you will get a whole lot out of resizing. its as blurry as run over crap

I feel that the main issue with your graphic is the rotation of the diagonal view. There are a few tutorials on rotating pixel art in this thread (maybe check the second page) on the official Graal forums and I suggest you check them out. Like Dusty states in that thread though, in order to come out with a better outcome, your best bet is to just put the effort into actually drawing the other sprite. You're always going to need to redraw the sprite (whether its tracing over it, cleaning and then detailing, or completely drawing it fresh and using the rotation as a reference) in order for it to look good.

looks liek you got the kiwi blade template made it goldish and then doubled it to make it like a lightsaber

Not everyone liked Callimucs better, I like Thunderstorms one much better, more realistic, nice shading, etc and it seems other agree, I got 2+ Reps in my last post on this thread.

Callimuc and Thunderstorm are the same to me just another user in the forums.
