The Walking Dead

Season 1 left me wanting more! Its the best mix of zombies and drama! Cant wait for season 2! Also breaking bad is amazing! AMC is the best when it comes to stories.

Luda 09-03-2011 07:40 PM

It left me wanting more too, there was some really corny stuff in it though but I guess they were experimenting. The second season is twice as long too, which is great. I read most of the comics and I'm glad they've stuck by the original outline but changed some stuff to keep it suspenseful for people who have read them.

Rashard 09-04-2011 06:50 PM

season 2's budget is less than season 1 + they fired the creator, frank darabont. season 2 is going to suck

Niels 09-05-2011 01:07 AM

I can't wait. I've been checking online for updates on it all of the time. It seems like it's been forever since the first season aired. Looks like it might be as good as the first, even without Darabont.

All they need is a decent plot and some realistic zombies to keep me watching.

Yea, I completely thought some zombie was gonna jump out and bite the deer, some sort of symbol of the loss of beauty in that world. That definitely surprised me.

Azrael 10-20-2011 03:35 PM

Can not wait for next Sunday. The Walking Dead is absolutely awesome.

Froggy Krueger 10-22-2011 07:19 PM

This and Falling Skies are my favorites atm

snk 10-22-2011 10:24 PM

I was like "HE'S GONNA GET IT!!" but I didn't expect that rofl

I wanted the deer to be all like "IMA EAT YOU FOR BREAKFAST!!!!" to be honest hahaha

Thought it was a zombie deer at first too lol

Dusty 10-24-2011 02:30 AM

You know what I like about the show? It's not predictable, at all. You can't tell what direction they're going to take with the show because they draw no lines. Right now I can't even tell if the kid is going to make it. "Of course he'll make it! He's their son!" doesn't apply here, I feel. I'm not so sure... maybe he won't make it, maybe the big plot this season will be dealing with the loss of their son. I like that. It makes it that much more exciting to watch.

Froggy Krueger 10-24-2011 09:24 AM

I read the comix it's based off of a while back, but apparently a lot has been changed. I don't even remember the hick being in them. So, it's a surprise to all...

Siggy 11-23-2011 10:05 AM

what is this program exactly?

(no one lives in my hemisphere)

Thats horrible! Who the hell mixes drama with zombies!? You never mix those two together! Zombies is all about action.. But they try to incorporate different feels and elements without thinking of the main purpose of what a zombie show/film is supposed to be like... Thats why so many zombie movies failed!

Gambit Drakul 11-30-2011 06:25 AM

Wow never saw that finale coming X_X

Rezon 12-01-2011 12:27 AM

Sophia in barn, whuzgud!

Azrael 12-02-2011 12:41 AM

wtf @ Finale. That was not something I was really guessing. I was totally banking on the alternative.

The Talking Dead show after had the producer chatting about alternate views for that scene and the one they discussed would have, personally, been a LOT cooler. But still, dang.

Gambit Drakul 12-02-2011 07:44 AM

I didn't get to see The Talking Dead but I didn't want poor sophia getting shot and in front of her mom >.>

It was a scene meant to show Hershell just their feelings towards the walkers -- that they are indeed dead, and that while it hurts them to do it, they're willing to shoot down their own family and friends. It summed up everything Rick was trying to tell Hershell in one bullet.

Zero02 12-02-2011 05:16 PM

For zombie fans, i recommend HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD

Shane as well. I really want to know how hershell found sophia, and was able to get her into the barn discreetly.

Maybe they'll show how Sophia turned into a zombie and how Hershell found her and put her in the barn on the newest episode on Feb.

I kind of saw it coming just wasn't really expecting it I thought they were probably going to find her being chased by some more zombies.

Rezon 12-09-2011 08:39 PM

Sophia most likely got hunted down by one zombie, if there were more than at least 2, she wouldn't have been infected, instead she would be all bones :)

Gambit Drakul 12-10-2011 06:47 AM

I'd rather her be all bones than become a zombie and be shot in the head D:

Kinda went slow. I'm tired of the farm storyline, they need to move/it needs to get more interesting.

reyalS 02-14-2012 02:39 AM

My favorite part of the series had to be when they were in the city (Detroit I believe? Correct me if I'm wrong) Everything throughout the series after that seemed to slow down.

Yeah that's getting a bit boring only exciting part was when Rick killed those two dudes from philly.
I heard this season they're going to have a lot more action though.

Oh you mean when they were hiding out in a building and Rick was with Glen?Yeah that season was good really good so far it's just been chit chat with some suspenseful scenes.

Dusty 02-14-2012 05:21 PM

They're building character development. I know the show is about zombies but if the entire series was just about running around killing zombies after zombies then it would get boring fast. It is a bit slow but I still enjoyed the character exploration.

Pimpsy G. 02-14-2012 11:10 PM

Yeah, but look at any show that relied on anticipation through slow episodes and mass character development. Almost all of them got no where. V? Gone. Flash forward? Gone. Lost was a lucky one, but it relied on answering questions, which was its secret sauce that kept it going for 6 years. The walking dead doesn't have that element to the scale of lost. Neither does Terra Nova. Both of these are going to die because of the same generic sci fi drama anticipation factor (which gets shows no where in the long run) that we have seen dozens of times.

Honestly, television shows need to rethink their structure. They need to stop dragging things out excessively just to get more seasons. They need to treat their shows more like art, and stop dragging their painting out and making viewers wait out of anticipation for what the final product will be. With this structure the painting is almost never finished, and the show is cancelled because they dont want to finish the story line and end the show. If they treat it like art, and make a quality painting with shows that last 1 run seasons (or more, depending on the show) that keep the story flowing without trying to avoid ending it, people will get the satisfaction of seeing the complete painting, and admire the directors for what they have completed. This strategy will boost their name, and they will be able to move on to more creative exploits, and create more 'paintings' without having people being disappointed that they never got to see the finished product.

Gambit Drakul 03-07-2012 07:23 AM

Should have just killed Randall just saying.

Most comes down to executive meddling. More episodes = more money. Even if they did take an artistic approach and get things down at a better pace then they'd still be pressured to make another season even if it didn't make sense to. This means either 1) everything is ****ed and thrown out of the window or 2) they don't do it and they get someone else that's a lot less talented to do it and it's ****ed anyways.

There's really no way to win because executives are the ones calling the shots and they don't give a **** about the actual show.

Froggy Krueger 03-07-2012 07:52 AM

I don't watch this show anymore... When the average amount of zombies per episode drops into the single digits, or in the past few episodes 0-1, it's no longer a zombie show. It's a drama

Rufus 03-08-2012 05:38 PM

I've caught random episodes now and again but it has never really interested me. I have wondered though, where did the Zombie Apocalypse originate from in the show?

TAKACHI 03-08-2012 06:34 PM

its my favorite show ^.^ has been since the first episode :3

It's pretty cliché. Show starts out with Rick(the sheriff) being shot and ending up in the hospital. Wakes up and zombies are everywhere. They've hinted at various news reports on it but almost all of it has been very vague, noting odd outbreaks and so on.

Gambit Drakul 03-14-2012 07:20 AM

Well Goodbye Dale and Shane.

Marker 03-15-2012 03:09 AM

That last episode was something I didn't see coming... Where Rick has to kill Shane.. I was also sort of confused of how Shane turned into a Zombie... He had only been killed by a knife; not a Zombie... I thought that the only way you turn into a Zombie was to be bitten by one... Wasn't that the Season Finale though? :/ I don't want to wait that long before it comes back...
