Noobs and Their Grammar
I've noticed a common trend recently that is really pissing me off. Noobs are always using terrible vocab and sentence structure to the point where I can't even understand half of the PMs. For example, if I wear a flashy or rare hat, I receive many PMs, such as "Wher find hat," or even worse, "What hat code?" Also, 90% of the time it appears that the other person is completely illiterate, not making any sense whatsoever. At first, I believed that it must be due to the age limit of the game, 4+ years on the iOS market, but then I noticed that I have many friends who range from 11-13 who are quite respectable and talk like a proper human. What is the point of even talking like an illiterate moron? All it does is make you look like an even bigger noob. Do any of you guys have any theories to why newer players act so poorly?

I feel your pain. I just thought a lot of that was do to the fact the game is online globally and there is peoples from all over the world, and they don't speak great English as it is not their primary language.

Welcome to the Nazi.
Seriously though, I think you exaggerated alittle too much. |
i use a very old ipod to play graal which lags a ton, so when i try to type something, sometimes a few letters are skipped as though im typing too fast for the ipod to keep up. I blame science.

I wish there was a pie graph that showed the ages of the playerbase statistics. The worst is when you actually try to start a conversation with someone. I saw a guild called "Sonic X" and I loved that show when I was a kid, so I messaged him saying that and he replied "wat". Then I said "The show Sonic X." and he replied "k". This isn't just this guy, this goes for a lot of players. Don't even get me started on the statuses. May God help those poor grammatically challenged souls.

It's honestly not that big of a deal. It's a free iPhone game, really what were you expecting? Nobody is forcing you to use your best grammar it's just you guys and your golden standards.

Complaining about noobs' grammar makes you like the bigger noob.
|
I have always supported the idea that noobs are the ones who typically whine and snivel when people steal/insult/make mistakes, and often use the word 'noob.'
That being said, I tend to answer in stupid responses when I am asked stupid questions. On occasion I pretend to be a robot and not understand their question. |
Then again, they are most likely responding with comments such as 'k' to subtly show their disinterest in the comment of which you had first stated, eg. 'i gtg now'. This can be compared to saying 'thats nice' or 'good to know', only with minimal effort on their behalf. I dont blame them for doing this, even i can admit that i have done this when i am tired or bored of typing.
