Why did you continue playing graal when you began?

Simple question.

Mine is because it reminded me of a mobile version of Habbo. :3 the nostalgia.

Ryan 11-02-2013 04:13 AM

Because every player was all in one world and I hadn't ever seen a game like graal.

NeoZX 11-02-2013 04:18 AM

Because I was bored in NYC...

I'm always a fan of games that have smaller communities and are being heavily developed on, which Classic was in 2009/10.

Platinum 11-03-2013 06:26 AM

I had friends and spent a lot on classic

I thought the male pixels were sexy

Latte 11-03-2013 06:37 AM

At first, it was socializing. Then learning pixel art and practicing it is what motivated me in the long run.

Met a guy named Quincy in DinoSmash that invited me to play Graal with them. For the first 400 hours, I just played with that one guy. One day, he just disappeared. He didn't reply to my Emails, texts, calls, or messages. Last time I saw his profile, he hadn't been on for over two years. I really liked him.

Anyway, by that point, I had so many other friends and ties to iClassic that I just didn't want to leave.

The Doctor 11-03-2013 07:35 AM

My brother showed me the app, which was apparently trending in the App Store. It was back when Era had around 200 daily.

Tricxta 11-03-2013 08:06 AM

I stared at the beginning of classic, I stuck around because they promised nice things. It then turned into an addiction, and yeah... so on.

Xenthic 11-03-2013 10:52 PM

When I bought a iPod touch 4gen I wanted to find an mmo, a game that was easy to play, easy to socialise and things to do.

At first when I saw the app I was like eh? Then downloaded 2 weeks later and got hooked and started meeting people and having fun with guilds like Ximtra! (Met some great people unfortunately not many are active) and then I found my addiction for PK which keeps me active and wanting to PK more and then there's the graal friends yeah it sounds sad but seriously when you stop playing you do miss people, well I do anyway.

Samie 11-04-2013 02:23 AM

it was like nothing i ever played before
(i wasnt really exposed to online databases and live chats with people across the world)

Joseph 11-04-2013 07:23 AM

I liked the sense of community and the freedom with what you could do in-game. Back on PC Graal I loved roleplaying on the Classic server and Valikorlia, as well as making friends and ****. (Unholy Nation was good for that since it used to be the most popular server).

That and it was basically a Zelda Online. (fun fact: when Graal first came out it was called Zelda Online.)

Jerln 11-06-2013 03:33 PM

I liked the graphics. When I got a musketeer hat, I was hooked.

Shotgunz=bawss 11-18-2013 05:42 AM

I liked shooting things, and the sound of yourself swimming in water gave me extreme nostalgia attacks for some weird reason.

Well, apart from having played PC graal, when I got iClassic I got involved with a clan called -=GøD=- which let me meet tons of people. This was WAY before guilds were released, and we were one of the top 3 clans. We made our "base" at the old SNC building that no longer exists. From then I took over the clan/guild and it kept me playing for years.

I found iClassic back in 2010 and I've played inconsistently for the last three years. The guilds I joined and the people I met kept me playing for large amounts of time but I've always ended up taking long breaks. Hopefully I can return again soon to try some new guilds and meet some more new people.

DaScientist 11-22-2013 08:03 AM

I seems almost similar to GTA Chinatown.

Steam Wizard 11-23-2013 02:09 AM

when i first got it and downloaded it, i was like wtf? i was walking around doing the tutorial and i had noticed others that looked just like me doing the same exact thing. I was so confused because I wasn't familiar with these kinds of games, and I had no clue that they were real people at first and I thought they were just computers. After finishing the tutorial I got warped to that spot in front of the city which got me even more confused and I wondered why I was getting so many messages calling me a noob. By the way, my name was Twizzler-1 back then. I couldn't tell the difference between real people, and baddies so I messaged random people for help and lots of people declined, but then again, a few people actually helped. I remember going around to all the bases asking to join guilds and I found this guy called shadow assassin, who wore that one white reaper head along with big transparent wings. He invited me to his guild house along with a few of his friends, one of his friends was named Sic, which later changed his name to Pyri in era a while later. He quit already like two years ago and he was a good friend. The other girl I forgot who her name was, but she had the purple and black haired head. https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/...58685992_n.jpg there's a picture that I took of us three together. They nicknamed me Twiz for short and I liked it so I stuck with it for most of my graalian career. I was a noob with the snowman body, which brings me to the next part. I started playing graal in the winter of 09-10 when they had the thing where you had to find the snowman and he gave you a snowman body. I was so proud when I finally got my snowman body. There was also this guy whose name was Aflak I believe, and he wore that one yellow ostrich head. He was a scammer and glitcher who kept stealing mine and my friends gralats and nobody liked him. Soon after that I had enough money to get an iTunes card and bought the house pack and customization pack. My first outfit was something like... I don't know because I changed my outfit so much because I was so amazed with being able to finally change my look. Anywho, I went with my graal buisness, basing, killing, earning money and stuff. A little while after that era came out and like any other graalian would do, I bought it using the leftover money i had in my iTunes account from when I bought the packs. I had loads of money once I started era. I bought everything from all of the guns, to buying that now out of style dragon car that was once the most expensive car at the time. I bought all of the furniture and literally everything that they had. I was an era freak. I PKed alot too, I was on the "leader boards" for top kills for a while. A little while after era was released the crab m4 droppings came out. I was lucky enough to get mine after about 30 minutes of farming. I continued farming after I had convinced my earlier mentioned friend, Sic, to buy era. I quickly got another m4 and decided that I'd give it to sic because I wanted him to get a good early start to era. I was a nobody in era, nobody liked me for some reason for a while. In February, on valentines day, the new holiday island was released
and again, having loads of cash, I bought almost everything in the shop. I was looked up to by many people because I had all of the cool stuff in the game, so I guess you could
say I bought my way into a little bit of "fame", but only a few people would actually remember me, one which was 99. I was in the gang called Purplocity for a while and got to know a few people there. That was fun. Soon there was this guy who literally had the very first era player customs. I'm pretty sure his name was Vince or something. I liked him and thought he was awesome. Pretty soon everyone started to upload heads and bodies. I felt left out and I didn't feel comfortable using heads that others created, so I decided to learn how to make my own customs. I practiced my skills until they had gotten to the point where I could actually make a head:https://scontent-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/...2_240105_n.jpg this is the outfit+my first head that I used for a really long time. I started to practice more and more until I got fairly good at pixel art (but I now realize that I wasn't very good after all, but now I'm a lot better than I was) I eventually got my own hat shop along with my NPC that's probably long gone by now. Around this time, Sic quit graal. I was sad about that because he was the one friend that helped me from the start. I started to get well known around the community and I even made my own website to help out with people that soon got ran out of business because of graal depot. I met this guy named Blak.E, he was my buddy for a really long time. We created a gang called Black Sleet and we based alot. We played Zodiac together for a while. I remember Jatz, too. And Alfonso who was my favorite admin. Jatz was a little trouble maker, he would always hack and when he got banned he would just hack right out of the banhttps://scontent-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/..._2094985_n.jpghttps://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/..._5587673_n.jpg Jatz inspired me in a negative way because I, too, started to hack. I wasn't the best at it but I still had fun excluding all of that ban and jail time so instead I started to hack on classic because I could be banned and just switch back to era. I was also one of the best glitchers around and got in trouble for it multiple times. https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/...02351636_n.jpg I soon realized that those days were over. I wanted to focus on helping the community rather than what I was doing before. I tried to apply multiple times to be PR but sadly, or not so sadly, it depends on how you look at it, I got turned down. I had tons of customs that I'd made and people loved them, I had good friends and stuff, I had like 3000 hours, which was a lot back then, but then something terrible happened. I got a new ipod and wanted to sell my old one but before I did that I wanted to transfer my account. When I sent the email they must have screwed up the transfer and I logged in with 0 hours and 0 kills. Nobody knew who I really was but I knew everybody else and they thought I was an Impostor or something. I realized that I was sad that I lost everything in the game that brought my grades down to Cs and Ds, and the same game that contributed to my depression that lasted like 2 years. I quit. My grades did start to go up and I had a good social life. I had totally forgotten about graal until late august of 2013. I quit in the winter of 2012. I don't know what it was but something drove me back to graal. I came back like a nobody, just how I'd left it. I learned that zone was the best choice to start out again and build up my reputation. When I started playing zone I joined the squad obsidian at about 4300 base hours and slowly helped build their way up to 5000 hours, obsidians goal. I met a variety of people in obsidian, from creative ones, to friendly ones. These were the only people that I knew, and right now, the only people I know. I somehow got back in touch with Blak.E, but we only talked for no more than an hour. That was probably the last time that I will ever see him again. When I came back I decided to try making pixel art again. I found out that I was way better than I was before I quit. I built up my reputation once again and I felt like it was going into a negative direction so I changed my identity to Steam Wizard, and that takes me to where I am now. That's why I continued to play graal, because I missed having friends with similar interests as I did, and people who cared about me.http://076dd0a50e0c1255009e-bd4b8aab...nal/original.0

Sariss 11-23-2013 06:20 AM

Why did I continue playing? Well, when I first started I actually thought it was pretty cool, the graphics were nice, and I liked mmos so I continued playing it. Then I made a horrible mistake. I made friends. Yeah we had alot of fun together... before graal became a boring, seducing, hell hole.

Shmegg 11-23-2013 06:46 AM

An old internet friend showed the game to me whenever I got my first iPod Touch around 2010. Graal Classic was one of (if not the) very first apps I have ever downloaded. Friend said that we should play together, but she never logged on when I asked. I grew apart from Friend, but I still played Graal because I spent a lot of time on it, it was fun and I met a lot of other people to replace Friend.

So I've been stuck here for the past few years. Screw you, Friend.
