Pokemon: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
 

The Official Pokemon YouTube channel has just released an announcement announcing that there will be two new remakes of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire! Sapphire is my favourite since I first played it when I was very young, and I am so excited to hear it's back! I hope they bring the hideouts and diving back.
It's due to be released worldwide in November, and I for one have been waiting for this for quite a long time.

Not much else information has been released, but I'm sure there will be more to come.

Extremely siked for this! I haven't really liked the old ones and if they stick to the same general plot, and map, I'm sure this will be a phenomenal game.

I would love to see Ruby remade in 3D with the bases and everything since it was my favorite. Overall though not really sure how I feel about a remake.

I want to see Pokemon continuously released forever, just so I can see what kind of names they come up with each generation.

Pretty interesting how they introduced it, I will defiantly get it. I remember their being a reference to alpha and omega in x and y somewhere. I need to hunt it down for clues

Wow, just think, in like 4-5 years we might have Diamond and Pearl remakes, too. It feels like those were only one or two years ago 0.0 But I'll probably stick on Omega Ruby more than anything else for a loooong time.

I hope there aren't going to be the new pokemon (in the wild) in Hoenn. It'll feel too awkward and out of place. It's an island. Flying pokemon I understand, but having other new pokemon in wild means someone introduced these invasive species to the Hoenn ecosystem.

Damn, people really love to buy the same game over and over again.

It's implied that the new games will take place in an entirely new region, it says in the trailer, "Explore a dramatic new world!" Also, in Pokemon X/Y, there is a traveler in a hotel that says "This region is nice and all, but you should really check out mine! Where is it you ask? Well, I can tell you it isn't Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, or even Unova!" Not his exact words but pretty close, I am not making this up, look it up online if you want.

So there is an extremely large chance these two new games will be in an entirely new region.

Anyways, I am totally pumped for this! Saphire/Ruby/Emerald were definitely my favorite Pokemon games of all time.

EDIT: Here are screenshots of this particular traveler implying a new region. It's pretty obvious he is, since he tells you straightforward, so I have a pretty good feeling that the new games will take place in an entirely new region.

Here it says "Explore a dramatic new world!" which also implies a new region. Trailers of remakes of Silver/Gold and Red/Green have only said "Come revisit the region!" This trailer, however, invites us to explore an entirely new world.

HL3 Confirmed!!!

I believe that either there will be a new region with Hoenn Pokemon, but I like this idea more: You do start on a new region, BUT you can go to Hoenn during the whole game. Then you can get the National Dex and visit the rest of the Pokemon World. Oh, and pokemon follow you. They need that back.

Is there even any gameplay for this yet? Everyone on the trade forums and game is overhyping about the message, but I don't get excited for a game until I see some sort of gameplay for it.

This is the only sneak peak of the game that's out so far, I believe.

Some in game footage was announced and is on serebii that pokemon website. It shows 3D Kyogre, and groudon.

C'mon this is Pokemon we're talking about.

It would be Ruby Version 2 and Sapphire Version 2.

Remember the villain groups in Sapphire and Ruby? Team Magma; Omega. Team Aqua; Alpha. Sounds similar to me. Just my idea how they got the name, not Nintendo's.
Groudon is ground type, so it still makes no sense for it to be on water.

How can this possibly impress anyone? "Epic New Adventure?" IT IS A REMAKE!

Not reallly, I remember Pokemon X and Y talking about something to do with Alpha and Omega I am still trying to find where I saw this. Also the team magma and team aqua logos resemble alpha and omega.

Also for Pokemon fans:

The Band of Thieves & 1000 Pokémon, was a new game announced yesterday by nintendo to be released on eShop in Japan on june 5th. It uses street pass to collect Pokemon for battling thieves.

Pokemon art academy also announced.

Groudon Kyogre comparisons, the magazine also said it would release lots of exciting info in its next magazine.

Let's see.... The old person who says about the 40th wedding anniversary being ruby and 45th being sapphire.... The little girl who says about her uncle in Hoenn..... Umm... Oh the hiker that says we should visit his region. That's all I remember.

Yknow, it be even better if nintendo gave the pokemon rom hacking community some sort of tool or sdk or something to make their own custom versions of these games, seeing as how 3rd gen titles are so popular for their malleability that allows for custom games built on nintendo's engine used for them to a certain degree. Bring on the 3D Pokemon Snakewood Version!

Can't make a comparison yet. I know it will be good with the tools they have today. What will be amazing is Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Those were my childhood. Imagine the mountain, the underground mining, your own resort house, 3D DARKRAI! It's going to be the best cause 3D Cynthia. That alone would make me buy it.

Pokemon game where ash is the main character. I think it was the rom remake of Pokemon yellow, then again I would like to see a Pokemon yellow 3D remake. I use to play that game so much back in 04 on my GBA that I beat the game 3 times with only a Pikachu and a Blastoise. The nostalgia when you hear that music makes me want to cry in a corner.
