Okay, so I heard Nintendo is doing that Skylanders figurine thing recently, but I read today that it's going to be used with Super Smash Bros. If that's true, that is going to be the biggest nightmare. Also, they're hardly introducing any new characters. Lucario and Ike should have been replaced, but they're back. I'm getting a little worried about this game now.

Tired of all these gaming companies trying to piggyback off others' ideas just because they're "popular"...

Is there not a hint of originality in these grown adults' brains?

Gaming is expensive as it is today. Online subscriptions, internet costs, games, and downloadable content. Now I have to worry about Nintendo using that pirate method of making money by luring us to pay for figurines.

I think they're bringing back as many old characters as they possibly can so people will buy the figurines for new characters. That's bs though if they plan to use it. It makes me not want to buy the game anymore. It's what stopped me from buying Disney Infinity.

That 3DS version tho

also we don't know if the figuines are for actual characters or for cosmetic things such as skins or costumes. There are many things it could be for really, Imma just wait till e3 when they most likely will go into more detail before getting angry about something that I know nothing about lol

Those figurines can go to hell.

Nintendo's made it clear that the figurines will each me applicable to multiple games, so they don't need to release any massive additions to SSB to justify the prices of the figurines.

That being said, how hard is it to fake these figurines?

I have confidence that Nintendo wouldn't outright ruin a franchise such as Smash Bros. with a money-grab necessity such as figurines. Maybe you can buy them to unlock characters faster?

I hope you're right about that. I've always had a large amount of respect for Nintendo and I would hate to see them ruin the game with these figurines. I'm hoping they're just trophies or something of less importance. Right now though I wish they would add some new characters. I don't count little Mac since he was an assist trophy before.

People whine about cookie-cutter characters like Marth vs Roy, Luigi vs Mario... when I don't get it. I mean they're not characters to brag about adding, but I didn't quite see the reason in removing them. Why not just keep them and have a large roster and give people some choice/variety?

I just want my Ice Climbers back.

I like that better. The Naruto Ninja Storm games keep adding additional characters instead of removing them so you have an insane variety of characters to choose from. Although, I really wish they would remove Lucario. I don't find him all that fun to play as.

YES! I miss him so much. He was one of my favorites in melee. I downloaded Project M just to use him on Brawl.

Lucario is like Mewtwo. How can you hate one but love the other?

Something about Lucario was just different. I didn't like playing as him, but loved playing as Mewtwo.

Lucario was my main in Brawl, loved him.

A bunch of little figurines aren't going to affect sales of this game by much. This is a huge title and as such people will flock to buy it figurines or no figurines.

as an assist trophy? jesus have you even played star fox before? Slippy doesn't do jack diddly ****. What would he do? FOX HALP ME FOX I HAVE A BOGGY ON MY TAIL or would crash his ship into the map and have the star fox team go invade a planet thats incredibly dangerous.

Skip to 2:58 for Slippy action. Not to get off topic, but I did beat the first Star Fox game a couple months ago and I was disappointed about how short it was. No one ever told me it could be beaten in an hour. I probably would have just borrowed it from a friend if I knew beforehand.

If they implement this whole "Skylanders thing" that would be atrocious. Having to buy characters for a game that is already expensive in itself. The game itself looks great, they have put a few new characters and bought back the oldies. Can't wait for it's release!

I wonder if they listened to that one petition and added Reggie Fils-Aime as a character. I mean, that petition got a surprising amount of signatures. And I think it still might be steadily growing in signatures still, too.

I own in Super Smash Bros with Olimar, in Super Smash Bros Brawl i would be owning Gandalf, Bowser, Ike, Pit, Marth, Link, Sonic, with Olimar lol.

after playing melee on the gamecube for so long, i didnt want to switch to a wii controller. Luckily, the wii had gamecube ports in the top. Now i can further continue my dominance over friends with gc controller.

That seems a little random to me to add him as a character.

Namco is developing Smash Bros so I guess it would make sense to put their mascot in the game. Also, here's an awesome pic:

If I understood correctly the figures won't be playable characters. They allow the player to practice against them, serve as an assist CPU, or can put their figure against another. The figures can level up with a max level of 50 and maintain stats within them.

I'll buy at least one as it seems like a cool idea

I had no idea Namco was in on this. Still, Pacman as a character I just think is a little weird to add for SSB. Who knows. Maybe I'll grow to like him. I don't play Kid Icarus, but I am interested in Palutena. My top 3 favorite new edition characters are probably Rosalina, Greninja, and Palutena. Hopefully they make Sonic a little better in this game. I thought the Project M team did a nice job readjusting his combat.

Shush, Mr Game and watch was the most exclusive series of games for people who are REAL Nintendo Fans. Mr Game and Watch belongs in SSBB. Anyways he has the most unique skillset out of all the characters which I think is neat.

I think he's a hilarious character, and I do enjoy playing as him.

Doesn't make him not weird though.
