Graal keyboard

So I was thinking, maybe Graal should have a keyboard which allows the players to have the normal keyboard but it has a section where it shows emotes so the player doesn't have to type it out and most of the time players mess up tying out the emotes. Also it should have like a little bar that allows you to change to different languages. It should also have an option to allow people who speak English but not other languages translate the other persons language to English vise verse the other person gets English translated into their language. The graal keyboard should have many quick options that maybe you might suggest it should have.
The graal keyboard should be implemented because it would make typing a lot easier.

other stuff relating to chat but not keyboard
Also the chest bubble should always appear everywhere. People think you're afk if your chat bubble doesn't show.
The message should fade in 10 seconds and the emotes should go away also in 10 seconds.
When people PM each other the bold, italic, font size(which rangers in 10-40.), the same way the smilie icon appears in the forum, should all be there when a player wants to have something read. Most people won't read a pm since it's long but with this feature players can possibly know what's important and what's not.
Please put helpful suggestions, and tell me what should and shouldn't be in the keyboard.

Graal should just have emoji support for messages

I was thinking about this quite recently too, but I don't know how it could be implemented. I don't think they have control over the OS keyboards.

Is it possible to make graals own keyboard?
Also for some devices on android keyboards are annoying because they take up the entire screen

and with emoji maybe one day we can all have the devil emote

A third-party keyboard can be designed specifically for Graal, for example shortcut keys that would type emotes (:lol, :cry, etc.) with the press of a single button. However, the keyboard would be universal across the device's applications and a separate installation/activation in itself. Although, I don't have an iPhone so I'm not sure if you can download alternate keyboards like Androids can.

Controllers for All (tweak) got an update recently allowing keyboard support for some games.

Dunno if Graal is supported.

The emote part is exactly what I was thinking! But the rest I don't understand what you mean :unsure:

Would be possible to replace the device keyboard with a scripted one making the app completely ignore text input all together but I don't see the point. A keyboard made with GUI controls won't perform as well on slower devices and it's unnecessary effort.

iOS 8 will support 3rd party keyboards. We could use this to our advantage.

twilit 06-23-2014 02:26 AM

But as Emera said, slower (older) devices wont have iOS 8..
I dont see the problem using the OS keyboard for emotes..

Unless it's an external app designed for Graal, what about people that use modded keyboards? I mainly just mess with people on here, but still, how would it handle having a modded keyboard or even the device's keyboard?

Phantos 06-23-2014 11:15 PM

Some of the servers on the client version of graal have it so that the numpad buttons are all assigned to different emoticons. Others have it so that it's just 1234567890 on the keyboard, as well. It works out pretty good for emoticons but beyond that, what else would a Graal-centric keyboard have?

Hmm maybe IOS graal can give you the option to do that slide down move without wall only PC people can do? But their is an option where you can disable or enable it so people don't complain they can't pk,spar, afk anymore.

Impossible. Graal's iOS D-pad does not allow multiple touch (strafing requires holding left/right/down together). Besides, you only have one left thumb õ_õ
In fact, not all PCs can even strafe. My macbook only allows 2, not 3, key inputs at a time :/

I would play Graal a lot more if this was implemented.

I came here to say... NO THIRD PARTY KEYBOARDS!

If it isn't designed by apple to be used on their devices it's probably going to be laggy and unresponsive- and for graal, let me add in CHEESY AS HELL! The keyboard implemented would probably be more cheesy than the loading screen. ( no offense anyone c: )

Please, seems like a hassle to have to transition from the IOS keyboard everyone has learned and loved to some random keyboard reserved under the name of some french guy and his bread loving best friend.

Whoa wut? I think what he means is to press a button and let you strafe. Basically how PC Era is. Press 1 and you face your forward direction and are locked in it. Pressing 1 again unlocks it.

I'm sure if they heard you they would surrender to your wit while throwing snails at you.

That exists on era because it has guns... like fps and other gun games.
Completely unnecessary for classic and should be patched on pc.
