Day/Night System Added
 

Zone has a day/night system now, I believe it is just an overlay of different shades of color, but I think it looks pretty good. Surprised that Zone is the first iOS server to implement day/night. This is only on Skyworld. Only thing I think it needs is a clock somewhere that can show the time of day, since i'm not totally clear sometimes whether it is sunrise or sunset.

I think deciding whether or not it's day or night would be a cool feature. Because I prefer night zone over day zone

If iOS can support it then power to you. Pretty sure it was removed on a lot of PC servers due to it causing lag or something.

What are the implications of this?

The system causes 0 lag from what I have seen on either of my devices. Also, it can be enabled or disabled through your options.

Is this day/night system like. Its night on this person's screen and morning on the other?

not an insult to other servers but an accomplishment for zone

Of this thread? Was just letting people on the forums know. If you are referring to the "Surprised that Zone is the first iOS server to implement day/night.", I was just saying I was surprised that no other iOS servers have done it yet.

No, all the same time for everyone. However, the cycle goes much faster than real time, so it wont only be night for some players and day for others.

Still dont get what is meant by "implications"?

seeing rufus emphasize on things having a purpose I would guess he meant what things are going to happen as a result of this addition.

Day/Night is a great concept! I hope more servers implement the technology.

I swear iera has had something along the lines of day and night for a while now. Or maybe it's just weather. Either way, if you toggle the option on iEra it'll go through light/dark transitions with occasional rain and thunderstorms.

Its better if when its night there should be breath clouds!~
cause when Its nighttime in the sky, its freaking cold.

There is no actual use for it right now, it's just detail.
I can see about some things being added like shops temporarily closing, but it's on way too short a cycle for that right now. It also transitions too fast. :(
It's still pretty neat, though.

Perhaps have baddies or aliens invade at night? Alien Invasions disable and instead you fight aliens for money?

Kinda weird cuz like at midnight for me (central time) zone was like..some kind of red color

Thats the sunset/sunrise.

There should be a world clock that shows the time of day in Zone (since it moves quicker than real time)

I also agree with the world clock, we need to make the transitions slower.

Sun or Moon or no Sun or Moon, the horizon should be some kind of bright orange yellow color

When it is sunset/sunrise make it less red and more yellow. Plus, smoothen the transitions.

This has been on Era for a while, I personally have never used it so I'm not too sure if it works in a similar way.

I'd say it'll get better in the future i'm hoping that is because its a little annoying with the colors but its fine for now.

We added a little clock to show what time it is, we also expanded the days/smoothened the transitions.

I don't see the Day/Night System. I'm on Face Book and all I see is day time

There's now a world clock time at the top of our screens :)

Zone needs to make you able to visit the moon then :3 perhaps a job could be collecting strange moon rocks 8)

Also travel to the sun. You pack on some thermal external suit and it allows you to walk on the sun. The suit has a limited time you can spend before you need to take a break from the sun. When you die the death Gani is you being burnt to a crisp 8)

I agree, currently its 2 seconds = 1 minute on zone, it should take a while longer

It's slower now.

It's still the same I just added extra transitions to smooth it out. So it seems longer.

Nice. And btw, is it possible to make bullets glow during night time? Or you got something else planned? :0

I think the day/night time are shades so its basically putting shades over shades when it comes to bullets. So the day/night shade is over the bullet glowing shade

Ah. I see now. Is it possible to put the bullet's shade over the day/night shade?

It should be like that for all flame deaths (such as flamethrower and lava gun)

No offense, but I don't see the point of Zone having this feature.

It just makes things harder to see, and even if certain areas only open at a specific time of day that means a lot of waiting around on a server that is primarily geared toward PvP.
