New Map Look
 

Hey everyone, in case you have not noticed or read the news, the Classic map has been updated, what are your thoughts on this? Personally, I really like it, but it looks like it does not fit with the maps graphics, maybe they're adding a new tile set? I also think they would not change it for the thrill, we may have something big coming our way!

I like the look, the old map looked really messy. I'm not a fan of the clouds in the middle of pyrat bay and the stables though.

I don't like the way the clouds are bunched, but other than that it's nice.

It looks like balamb island is southern of swamp and connected to a one continent.

I like it, but it's not like it's a big change. They just added clouds instead of nothingness, for the most part. I'm only hoping this is an indication of some new areas to come.

They should make a new city that floats other than that marriage place and angel clan. It should be above onnet forest and you can go around the map. That would be awesome.

Looks like summon copied a picture and pasted it everywhere so that explains why everything looks on top of each other.

Hideous vast white space. It looked much better when it faded off into the parchment background color. Revert back to old map then add animated small clouds that float across if there just must be clouds on the map.

I think the shading on the clouds is just too much, the cartoony-ness really clashes with the look of the map.

I thought the lowest landmass was Destiny and I got really ****ing excited

It almost feels as thought they're teasing us by this point. They change Belle to Delta, everyone holds their breath... Nothing new. Air Asia is removed, people expect something to come of it... Nope. Map is updated, hope arises that this is a sign that new areas are to come, or.. Anything new at all... I think we all know how this is going to end.

I am officially becoming impatient! (And I'm one of the more patient ones!)

Can u just cover the WHOLE map with clouds please

If they did it the clouds would be visible and everyone would get mad. Or it would be covering graal but they can see and complain about that

I dont think opening new towns is anywhere near the top of the to-do list, so dont hold your breath.

The noobs wouldn't know where to go so they cant do that :P

they should also get rid of snowtown and deadwood. If they dont get rid of them they should make those two towns the warp spots for all the AFK'rs, so they can serve a purpose.

I thought snow was as good as swamp. They can farm, but snow is better, i have constant people that steal from me in swamp. They both have a tower. And they have a hatshop.

Too bad they dont have players.

Sometimes more players is worse than less players. There are more people in swamp and all of them take your gralats. They have a farm where noobs cant go unlike swamp and less people go there. Imagine in a game where you have 12 and another team has 5. The team of 12 is lagging behind because they have to get their team to complete it and the team with 5 finishes first.

my understanding is that when there are more players in a certain area, there are more gralats. If you horse farm in swamp you can get a decent amount of gralats. The trick is to shoot the fire with your horse, get off the horse and run towards the gralats and repeat the cycle.

ya, it just depends on what you're doing. Since we are talking about a town I dont think that applies to this.

Of course they did. You can clearly see the worthless effort they put into this pathetic excuse for a news update lol. Unless you mean that this news update might be signaling something big that is about to happen and this is part of the update but as of right now this is the most embarrassing news update ever made lol.

I like to think that the clouds are covering up soon to be released areas.

I remember playing this one game where areas that hadn't been discovered her were covered by clouds and they would clear up once you discovered the area.

I know, right? I was considering making a new thread when I saw the news update but then I said to myself "naw, that's taking it too far. It's such a minor update", yet here we are. 3 pages in.

I giggled a bit. Classic releasing content? And if they did spend more than 2 minutes on it, there is no point. I can't remember the last time I opened the map, and the last time I was was for maybe a slight glace. The edges could be all black and it really wouldn't matter. Look at the staff team, most likely went on job review sites and copy + pasted; by the seems of their maturity (excluding scripters and some gfx)

Go a month without hats and "work" for a decent purpose, then MAYBE someone like myself would return to being active.

Not only does it look bad but it looks distinctly like the image it was made from was saved at a poor quality.

Damn that's one ugly looking map.
At least put a little effort in when making useless updates.

We'll do absolutely everything we can to get someone like yourself to return.

The way you guys complain about this map makes me feel like you just stare at it 24/7 instead of actually playing the game.

Seriously what does it matter what it looks like you can still see things like towers/friends perfectly fine like geez as players who do nothing to help you have pretty high standards for the littlest things.

It's great that Classic's one developer will take his precious time to make sure he can make sure one more person will keep playing. You are such a great guy, Dusty!
