Multiple noobs on speed hack

Is this some sort of item or is he just playing around some files he shouldn't be touching? I haven't played this since Era came out so I have no idea what's going on...

4-Lom 11-06-2014 02:28 AM

Noobs be hackin... but they not actually noobs... I saw a guy with infinite bombs and arrows yesterday too...

could be his connection is way faster than yours, though.

twilit 11-06-2014 02:32 AM

Yes its a speed hack
No... it has nothing to do with connection speed.. and if you meant faster FPS, theres a maximum to that anyway.

Colin 11-06-2014 02:54 AM

Just call him a script kiddie and he'll probably log off due to depression.

Speedhacking takes anyone with a PC about 30 seconds - a minute to do.

Thallen 11-06-2014 03:22 AM

I know for a fact that iClassic had speed detection in the past, and I know for a fact it was prone to false positives, but I don't understand why it wasn't improved upon rather than just totally scrapped

because it's built-in to the server.

Yami 11-06-2014 03:32 AM

I'm assuming the false positives were due to processor exseleration in higher-powered PCs

I don't even know what that means TBH, but Ruxxter scripted up speed detection for UN that did pretty well
it showed false positives during times of server lag, but detecting anyone who is speeding like that idiot in the video would be easy

you send a trigger to the server from the client every second, and if the server sees that it is receiving 1.05 triggers per second on average, rather than 1 trigger, then you know the client is speedhacking by 5%

but yeah, iClassic's server lags so badly that this would be incredibly unreliable in every instance other than full-****** speeding like the guy in the video

not really hard to think up that concept though, so my best guess as to what you mean by it being built-in to the server is that it was implemented in a way where it checks your x/y position on the server rather than involving the client in any way - if that's what it is then that sucks

ya, I was walking to the old GS arena in Swamp with Crono and randomly got banned, was running on a desktop with an overclocked CPU and GPU at the time

Kirko 11-06-2014 05:34 AM

There are a lot of speed hackers on classic probably because its the easiest hack to do on here.
Only takes about 5 seconds to enable on pc.

MisaChan 11-06-2014 05:46 AM

Classic .. Theres Wallhack, Health Hack, Bomb Hack, VIP Hack, Furniture Hack (Which makes u edit the levels), Emotion Hack, Pray Hack, Bypass Ban (rarely seen), Horse Hack, Arrow Hack, Invisible Hack, Item Hack, and Gralat Hack :I

MisaChan 11-06-2014 05:51 AM

Zone uses a speedhack detection, and it's pretty damn good at picking up false positives. It also autobans.

Do you have any detection tools or are admins doing it on eye judgement?

GOAT 11-13-2014 03:29 PM

Nope. It's always autobanned the second they don't pass a speedhack check. But the speedhack checks weren't always automatic. Now when someone moves too fast it automatically starts a speedhack.

Violet* 11-13-2014 06:26 PM

H4X0RZ nowadays.

Every other iOS server has speed detection but Classic, even Ol'West, although there system also considers lagging speed-hacking sometimes haha.

Ol' West doesn't have one or maybe they do but doesn't work right now.

Ol' West has a very effective speed hacking detection system. So does iEra, and iZone. iClassic however does not appear to have an active one. I have personally tested all of the systems and the only server to not autoban me was classic.

When I posted that I had just tried speed hacking using my old ipod and I didn't get banned in Ol west. :o
