Hello, Ol' West players.

I started playing Ol' West yesterday and I must say it is an insult to call it Ol' West. The original Ol' West run by Tig and Mag was excellent, near perfect. This server is literally a reskin of Era iPhone, which is also an insult to share the same name as Era. I know not many of you were playing Graal during Ol' West's heyday, but it's quite different. Please, don't waste your time or money on this game, preserve Ol' West's image.

Regardless of what you think, ol' west is ol'west, besides it looks pretty much the same.

I personaly dont like era zone and now i dont like ol west due to its engine
I like the classic engine

By the looks of all the negativity that Ol West is getting, it looks like it wasn't made for anyone at all

The 600-something players that have been here this weekend seem to enjoy it, even with the little bit of early development hiccups (OP Baddies, lag, randomly getting stuck, missing ganis, etc.)

Right now, I'm very turned off by the slow walk speed on OW, but I'm optimistic that it will be remedied soon enough.

If they increased the walk speed, I would actually prefer PKing(Sparring/Basing) over Era; for the sheer fact that spamming isn't rewarded on Ol' West.

I get the feeling of triumph when I see somebody come on and say, "Ol West guns suck".
That means it's working. Mission fricken' accomplished.

That translates to: "I can't spam with these guns, so I suck here."

The only thing good about that video is the darkened/rickety camera that hides how ugly everything is. It appears that most of the graphics in that video are the same as what's on the server today...

Tbh I don't see any problem with Ol' West, I like it, while others don't. Don't mean you gotta put the people who've been working here down. Plus the game is still in it's early release, there'll be more things released through time.

And I gotta agree with Meph, people on Era spam like crazy crap. Ol' West so far requires you use some skill for once.

I love Ol West, it's amazing and for its early release I am really impressed by how much contents and stuff they have. Given the statement, you could have kept it to yourself or provided some ideas/constructive feedback rather than bashing on a brand newly opened server.

Maybe you should just stop playing Graal iOS all together if you're feeling too self entitled.

Might as well save your breath and invest time in a real video game.

DK you're 100% right in terms of the reskin and being disappointing, but what do you expect? At the end of the day it comes down to dollars earned than a minority of players' individual concerns, they're targeting a different community and audience now. The pre iOS plays are fading and the PC generation has passed. The iMarket has opened up a new market for Eurocenter/Toonslab to exploit in order to make and promote a profitable business. They're targeting a specific audience and, to be slightly stereotypical, they're targeting 8-15 year olds from a wealthy demographic and it's obviously working. Numbers in all facets continue to rise. It is what it is, a new community has emerged.

Late 2012 I believe, Tig, Muse, myself and a few others were doing bits and pieces for Ol' West but it wasn't really a concentrated project, iKingdoms was the focus with plans to release both an iOS eventually. Both servers were beautiful and amazingly unique, just time consuming and slow going for a variety of reasons.

Nevertheless, things change, unixmad needed a cash injection from somewhere and with Delteria waiting in the wings, why not release another Era reskin? $$$. But, in all seriousness they have released it at a great time and I'm sure with improvement Ol' West will hopefully become more differentiated from Era, hopefully better. However, I can assure you that Ol' West's image is gone and won't be fulfilled.

Gralats Pack were actually not 30% off, only the in-game shop stuffs like Guns/Melees/Mount/Outfit/Furniture etc.

And I am pretty sure iOS servers profits more than PC servers.

Ol' West has a lot of potential as an iServer, there's much more content to come in the near future.

It's too much of an iEra re-skin... :angry:
If it wasn't a simple skin then it would have immense potential.

Tbh you guys irrationally hate on the server, dont you have anything else to do, Alpho does lots for this server and he works hard, homeless witch does seemingly nothing. I like the server and it is only early days you have to take into account, Rome wasn't build in a day bud.

Just saying but those posts above are from when Ol' West was released and Alpho didn't work with us back then.

Ol west is so diffrent from era... Era sucks they tried to realese a new content for like 2 years. I suggest you dont even post on this forum with negative comments,

Ol west is a pretty good server tbh. Its been developed for only a few months and there is already several amazing concepts and graphics, and even things that set it apart, such as gang points, the staff are really good but as always im a huge Alpho supporter, he does everything for this server, and i believe hw does nothing. So stop hating on a new server with basically one developer, it gives me peace of mind to play when i always see alphos ideas which are almost always carried out, haha

HW does nothing? If you're saying HW doesn't do anything, why was she appointed as Manager?

Alpho does everything he can in his hand, because he volunteered to help the server, not to get fame, the position of manager or something.

Yeah Alpho has a lot more experience than HW with coding, but that doesn't mean HW doesn't do just as much. I don't hate on either but respect Alpho just as much as I respect HW.

And to actually clarfiy, HW made the Easter 2015 quest. They both impact the server.

Not to be that guy, but the quest was exactly the same as the one in Rufus's house. It was a little disappointing.

Apart from that though Ol'West has gone above my standards and is extremely impressive, I'll be sticking around.

HW just doesn't show off as much as other people ALPHO is more of a talk to the community guy but HW does a lot you just can't tell... (I don't know why i quoted Shiz I guess just because I agree with him)

In my opinion I don't really like it how you have to pay to buy more clothes and stuff, but all up its great.

I hope we just have free hats. Like, I only have 2 hats in my storage xD

There's also the first 1000 player hat but not everyone has that.
I might add some secret hats sometime.
