Should I Get An Xbox One?
 

Well, I have more than enough money left over from Christmas to purchase an Xbox One. The real question though is it worth upgrading to one yet? I saw this sweet deal at Gamestop where you can purchase the Xbox One and it comes with Assassin's Creed Unity + a $50 digital gift card for $350. I'm just trying to determine if it's worth upgrading to it just yet. I'm not looking into a PS4 because I don't want to pay for Xbox Live for my 360 and PSN membership.

In all seriousness, though, it's generally not worth it to adopt systems early. I'd reasses the situation next year (or just join the master race).

Honestly, you couldn't have thought of a better way to get a slew of completely biased answers to that question than asking other people.

gaming is overrated

I got a little too excited when I saw the deal on Gamestop's website and my first impulse was to make a thread asking if it I should buy it yet. Still, it doesn't hurt to receive feedback about why it is or isn't a good time to get it now because I do plan on getting it sooner or later. It's not a question whether or not I should buy other gaming devices. I agree with what Imprint said though. I've waited a year already, but waiting one more might be a good idea. Getting the console now could also be good to have for when more titles are released so I won't have to scramble for money.

Halo 5 coming out soon. You're really only paying $300 for a relatively new console. I enjoy my xbone. Shame they are giving unity and not letting the person pick their bundle though.

I have xbox one.. but it seems same as the normal xbox

I bought a PS4 because I just wanted Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank again because they are exclusive to PS. I would go for that deal though it sounds nice. You probably won't see another deal like that until next years holidays.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Right now it looks like I'm leaning toward waiting another year. I just don't see any exclusives out right now or coming really soon that would make me want to purchase it. It seems like everything good is coming out near the end of 2015 (I'm just guessing for Halo 5).

Lmao, looking at the multiplayer trailer of Halo 5, you can already tell it's going to be more like CoD.

Yeah, Halo 5 kinda looks like a mix between Crysis and Advanced Warfare. There's still the Master Chief Collection though if you're a Halo fan, lots of great remasters (and Halo 2 MP <3) coming out in that. One of the main reasons I'd buy an XBone.

And all the new AC games are terrible so I wouldn't consider that bundle a good buy.

But if you really want a Xbox then go ahead and get it.

Umm Black Flag was rated as one of the best AC games lmao.

Black flag was the better out of the newer ones.

AC3, Rogue, and Unity all suck.

Rogue was by far one of the glitchiest of them all, its like black flag except its not, the terrains also looked familiar almost everytime.

Well, I ended up reconsidering and buying it. That leaves me with a little over $140 of Christmas money left over that I plan to use at the next anime convention. I'm not sure what to spend the $50 on... I never played Forza before, but the Halo Master Chief Collection is also something I'm very interested in if it's good.

Get a ps2, good value + good fun + jaw dropping graphics + moving fish

MCC is pretty much what it is. It's good if you like Halo.

I would probably like it then since I love Halo. There's also that Elder Scrolls Online gaming coming out on the 29th. The last time I saw a trailer for that it looked like crap, but I don't know about now. Whoops I thought that was this year.

I recommend dragon age inquisition and shadows or mordor for consideration. Two games I enjoyed

Halo MCC is definitely worth it for any Halo fan, yes there are bugs but compared to launch its a lot better. If you get the MCC you have instant access to the Halo 5 beta starting on the 29th of December for 3 weeks ;)

The Shadow of Mordor game looks really good. It's only $40 on the GameStop site right now. They must be doing a special deal since the pre-owned version is $50.

Quick question though. I heard you cam upgrade Xbox 360 games to the Xbox One and it's like a $10 fee. Could I take Destiny into GameStop and just upgrade it like that?

EDIT: Sunset Overdrive also looks fun to play. I'm not much a of a third person shooter, but that one looks like I'd enjoy it.

I know that if you got Destiny for xbone your 360 save would transfer over. I also know there was a deal that allowed you to upgrade your 360 version to xbone for free but idk if that is still going on

Playing cod requires drinking mtn dew n eating doritos while wearing a fedora n halo doesn't require tht so I beliv tht is the difference

Although i was a windows fan from the start,The Xbone really was a disappointment.Go for Ps4.

I already said from the beginning other consoles weren't an option. I'd like to keep my Xbox Live membership and PS4 charges for one now so I'd have to give up membership for my 360 which I love playing. I own a PS3 and PS Vita so that's enough Playstation gaming for me.

Just buy nice surround sound equipment and a bunch of other things to enhance your gaming experience

There are some great looking exclusives for xbox one like Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2, Halo MCC and some of their upcoming games. These are probably the reasons I'd buy an xbox one.

It would have arrived today too, but it's a holiday for UPS... and so is tomorrow </3. So I have to wait two extra days. I ended up purchasing Sunset Overdrive since it's an Xbox One exclusive and it had good ratings. I'm planning on getting Shadow of Morridor later on.

Har har I lied. The scheduled delivery date for my package is on the 5th, but I thought since my package was one city away they'd deliver it today. Silly me for having faith in UPS. Looks like I'll be getting it Monday then. The anticipation is killing me.

So I got it today, but I haven't been able to play it because Assassin's Creed Unity is taking too long to download. If I were to pop in Sunset Overdrive would it cause my Unity download to slow down immensely or no?

Not techinically a paid game. I think it's free but warframe looks good and its on both xbox and ps. The concept and characters are really cool.

If you've already downloaded sunset overdrive, you can play that while waiting for the download to finish. I think only multiplayer effects download speeds.

Playing another game shouldn't slow your download much(unless Sunset Overdrive has patches that need to be downloaded before playing).

You may experience lag while you play though.

I'm really liking the Xbox One so far. I decided to try AC Unity today and I'm just wondering if this game is like Dishonored where you can explore the area for each sequence (which it appears to be) or if you get to free roam wherever you desire without selecting a specific mission.
