PC shuts down while Gaming :/

Idk why but my pc shuts down while gaming.i bought the rig for Watching movies and stuff but ended up gaming on it a little.
SPECS:
CPU:Intel cor2duo 2.66Ghz
GFX:GT610 Leadtek
RAM:2GBs ddr3
PSU:Stock PSU 240W
Case:Stock Case

The pc would shut down after 10mins of gaming. Some peeps told me that it was the PSU.it wasnt desgined to handle noth a CPU and a GPU.my CPU was overclocked to 3.4Ghz which i then "down"clocked? To the stock settings.if the PSu was the issue then if i would plug out the keyboard and mouse cords and the gpu would fix the issue..but no success.the damned CPU started giving me those red Bleep errors.it was 6 red bleeps which ment that the ram was an issue.took out the rams(4x 512mbs) and left it with a 512mb stick... no success.the pc wont turn on.i cleaned the pc with a vaccume cleaner in case the dust built up was disturbing the air flow.still no success.
BTW
my pc would show high temps of about 60 to 70° while doing nothing and would rise up to 103°C when gaming.

Pls advice.

You need to make sure everything is plugged in. If you seem a cord not connected into anything you need to FIND WHERE IT GOES and then plug it in. It will probably plug into either 1) A wall outlet, 2) The computer, or 3) The monitor.

...Did that solution not work?
You need to make sure there is a game inserted into the game tray. You also need to make sure you are launching the game.

...Did that solution not work?
You need to make sure you are actually using a computer. Are your cables plugged into
1: A potato
2: A computer
3: A potato

If you answered 1, or 3, then you need to look into getting into the possession of a computer.

Did I help you correctly satisfy all your questions and concerns?

Build a new computer if you want to seriously play games.

MBK 12-30-2014 10:57 AM

I was planning to do the same thing.
Core i3 with a GTX7xx or maybe a GTX6xx.depends...and a 4GBs of DDR3 RAM.
as for the PSU,a 450W...segagate probably.
Some ATX case....i would prefer some Stock Mobo as i dnt know much about them.
(Idc about mobo or the case.)

Your PC is overheating. Try not to use it for anything intensive, it'll be a fire hazard. The solution would most likely be to install more fans and cooling systems. You might need a better PSU for that, though. Also it might cost a bit of a pretty penny.

MBK 12-30-2014 12:14 PM

After a bit of Tomshardware and game-debate... i concluded that i have a weak PSU.the Stock PSU had enough juice to run the CPU...not the GPU too... ill just have a ew rig.i might sell this one or maybe keep its parts for a future build.

Spirit19 12-30-2014 11:21 PM

Wait what games are you trying to play?

fp4 12-30-2014 11:57 PM

Sounds like your fan(s) are dead on your CPU or GPU. Take the side off while it's on and investigate.

Saints Row the Third and all those 2012-2013 titles. Lol i once tried Metro:The last light on this rig.the pc restarted every 10mins.or the display would go off with audio loops of the game i was playing.

I had this problem with my old computer/laptop I suggest changing your laptop battery and having your laptop fan fixed... and you should also buy a laptop cooler/fan...
I suggest buying a laptop fan with 2 fans which run very fast if your laptop fans on ur cpu and gpu are dead as said by fp4...
or change your laptop.

Lol its a Desktop Computer.I was never a Laptop guy.Anyways... the fans are working awsome.the CPU idles arou d 50°C which is normal i think. As for the dual fan suggestion,my damned 240W PSU wouldnt handle the load.i'll just try to sell the system or keep it for a future Build.

Desktop PC's dont have laptop batteries :0

His PSU is only 240W, that's really low and probably of questionable quality too :0

Nice try though ;) ..

Anyways,i found a sweet Deal today.
An ATX case with a 350W PSU and a Core2Duo 3.0GHZ for $52... . Thinking of paying him $20 with my Core2Duo 2.66GHZ... i hope he accepts my deal So i could AT LAST use my GTX650 my cousin gave me as a gift.
I CONCLUDED THAT IT WAS A DEAD MOBO.

Pretty sure the GT610 is passively cooled, so that means it would either be a case fan or a CPU fan going out.

I would advise seeing if the CPU fan is spinning while the PC is on. If it isn't, then replace it. if it is spinning, try replacing the thermal paste.

I wouldn't be so sure that its a dead motherboard, if the CPU was running at 100C+ there's a good chance that the CPU died.

*The GPU was running 100+C not the CPU.
----------------
Took it to HP... it was a Dead Mobo afterall. They returned half of my cash back without any offer of replacing the rig.-_-
Now,i got a Dell Optilex 360.
---------------
REQS:
CPU:intel core2duo 3.0GHZ~3.06GHZ
CASE:Some Dell branded ATX Tower Case (i had a Damned Desktop before.)
PSU:Some ****ty branded PSU of about 300W
----------
Turns out execpt for my Processor, all of the **** was worthless...2Gigs of RAM dead,MOBO was dead,PSU was dead.
Now im sitting without a RAM which sucks...

Ill try getting 2x2Gigs of Ballastix soon.

Crono 01-03-2015 02:55 PM

Just build a new computer man, save up for a lil while.

MBK 01-04-2015 04:42 PM

I have a Laptop which i never got along with.......it gets the job done.
I just like buying PCs... test them... do a little benchmarking...or probably keep some parts and then Sell the whole system to get a new one.Lol

Im collecting for a HD7750 or a 7770 now.

Hugop 01-06-2015 07:50 PM
