Weekly graal Classic lottery ?

The title pretty much speaks for it self :)
Why not have one in classic ? You'd be given a number for each ticket you buy and at the end of the week ( or month ) the numbers would bf revealed using tht sane lottery system used to celebrate the graal 5th anniversary

How many gralats are we talkin' about here?

Kendama 03-25-2015 11:43 AM

Sounds awesome. Perhaps when/if you win, an awesome gani happens to you and everyone around definitely notices. That would be fun too. Imagine the poor guy who has that happen in the middle of graal city and gets completely spammed xD

Perhaps the lottery rewards 1/2 of the total gralats it accumulated. Or 3/4. That way it is an easy cash sink but still fun and really rewarding to some.

Those are some great ideas.
Now, if only we got the staff to cooperate...

It would depend on how much money is accumulated on all the tickets sold and a slight percentage taken away , the more people buy the tickets the higher the jackpot winning prize would be

Don't know about legality in US jurisdictions.

I think era already has some kind of lottery system, so I would assume that it would be legal for classic to have one too.

Sardon 03-28-2015 06:55 PM

how would making people buy tickets with pixelated gems to receive alot of gems illegal

Look up "illegal lotteries" on Google or just read this: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/20140...s-and-contests

That's a good article on the whole legality issue. This is why the Monopoly game at McDonald's, and other similar promotions, allow you to send mail to them in order to collect stamps. The fact that a lot of people actually pay for gralats means a lawyer would have to be hired to vet the whole process. It would probably entail allowing players to request gralats or additional entries by mail. That's just the US. Generally promotions are done on a jurisdictional basis because of such issues. Considering Graal is an international game, there's more than just US law to be wary of.

If that applies for the U.S, it doesn't apply to me. Over here they're too busy fining people €500,- for a speeding and giving murderers and rapists community service work instead of putting them in jail.

Natso 03-31-2015 07:37 AM

If it's not legal how come Graal zone has this system??

It wasn't a lottery because you didn't have to pay anything to enter it.

Still no one has explained why era and zone are able to have lotteries if they are illegal and classic can't?

It probably just means that the game owners can be fined by regulatory bodies (so long as it involves people using money, directly or indirectly, to partake).

Sent a ticket to ToonSlab support just to let them know they might be doing something illegal on these servers.

I think Conflict of laws or Private international law (same ****, different names) would apply.

It's still a potential litigation issue from most states (there are two or three that allow offshore gambling).

Well, I sent a support ticket to ToonSlab three days ago, marked as high priority and titled "Concerning potential illegal lotteries being hosted by ToonSlab" several days ago. It still has a status of "Not Viewed." Is the support system a black hole or something?

The "support" link consists of volunteers like MD. I doubt sending that ticket is going to do anything. Expect about 10 days before they read your ticket. Took them that long for mine and it has been another week or so and no status regarding my issue.

I don't know if it's illegal, but I'm almost certain they won't have to worry about it. The profit(if any) they make from the lottery is too insignificant for any government to waste their time. Another thing is that there is no precedence regarding in-game currency which can be obtain for free. Gralats can be bought with money, but it's not mandatory. When you deal with the law, language is very important and has to be specific.

Example:
Rampage Jackson the MMA fighter is in a legal dispute with Bellator and the case might come down to the definition of "hard copy"

MBK 04-09-2015 02:22 PM

There are a million games with a lottery system out there.U get a free spin at the first time and if u want more spins...u pay for it with in-game currencey...and since this system is quite common...it ain't illegal.

I think the best thing to do would be to email who ever owns GRAAL directly about it , through the recent server changes in hit even sure who owns this tbh
