Oh I forgot, because everything we do now has to be like RS since we implemented skills...

Could bring in some form of trade exchange, would have to be pretty grand though to replace the tables.

I want some drag+drop interface where you drag items out of your inventory into some display thing to trade. That would be dope. I see it in my mind, though it's hard to explain. Also something like this would replace the current inventory gui and folders (drag+drop)

Hey wtf dude... lay off, Rs is quite simply an example of a successful rpg from which other game designers can learn from. You don't have to follow its exact recipe but it's a good base to see what worked and what didn't. Nowhere did anyone say do it exactly like runescape.

And no, the trading system doesn't work fine, it's a huge friggin inconvenience, you need a trade table to exchange items but in reality, say you wanted to buy an item off someone in the street, do you go to a table and then make your trade? No! you simply do it over-hand so why can't a server dare to implement the same policy. Just because iEra started it and several scripts including trading were copied over to ol' west doesn't mean it has to persist. Just look at pc Era(oh btw... just another example that's NOT runescape). That's a trading system that makes sense, only difference is it probably wasn't developed with the money grabbing unixfag in consideration.

Honestly, I'm not against a revamp on the trade system (never was) and would love to see it. Alpho could probably whip this up just as easy as any other of his projects.

I'm thinking of a GUI that's like in UN, the trading system. Of course, we need advertisement in what we are selling/buying, and what Alpho said is a great example for displaying what we sell/buy or just even for display because its either just for fun or rare.
