ReD's Spar Guide - going positive
Sparring - Going positive About me: Hi my name is ReD, I've been playing iClassic since late 2012 and sparring since early 2013, I have participated in 5 guild spar tournaments (4 iDevice and 1 Mixed), by 4000 wins my iDevice was completely broken and my only option was to make the jump too PC.Intro In this guide you'll find tips and a few tricks on going positive with your W/L ratio, I will be covering other sparring topics later on but this guide is built to help you with your sometimes long and hard (well not hard if your decent) Journey to going positive.Index
Tips: The main thing with positive ratios is finding a way in which you'll be comfortable sparring, focus on learning how YOU like to move, don't let others influence you completely, a little tip from someone is great once in a while but copying someone's style isn't always the ideal choice, learn to predict your opponent and when or when not too hit, once all of this is done its time to apply this inside the Battle Arena, Just remember its always a good idea to warm up before going ahead and sparring for long periods of time, streak rooms are great but if your in desperate need of going positive go ahead and spar in quick spar rooms, these are great for practice and also provide a good amount of wins, and barely any losses (considering everyone in quick spar rooms are generally really really bad), however if your looking for a challenge the mixed room is full of sparrers from old pros to talented rookies.Tricks: Often you'll come across "delaying" or "lagging" players, try different ways that you feel will help you combat these sorts of players, often walling is the go to choice for many but its not always the best, as getting trapped on a wall will get you a loss, keep moving around and predicting where the player will be next (if their warping this works well) generally the player lagging will lose to this technique. Keeping a positive ratio: Keeping a positive ratio means you CANNOT lose, so don't be afraid to cheap-shot an AFK player or use a technique that is hated by others, after all its you who matters in this situation, try your hardest in every match, have the attitude that your unstoppable and you'll have an easier time winning. Conclusion , I have to say, this guide is kind of crappy and probably doesn't make sense but sparring is my thing and I love to share info and talk about it :) I went from 100-300 to 6500-3100 with the attitude and actions mentioned in my guide, I hope that at least 1 or 2 people will use some of the little tips mentioned in my guide :), positive and negative feedback is all welcome! just try not to be offensive :D thanks and good luck sparring!some additional things to help you out on your journey to positive!:

Cool guide
I agree with you on trying your hardest on every match. At least give some effort to respect the other player. I find annoying when the opponent is 'acting' or really not trying. I join spars to prove myself as a skilled sparrer and always try my best. |
lmao You should make a thread about how to boost like you did for all your wins

Step 1. Get good
Step 2. Profit but seriously, its well written and could use more information such as techniques. Also be sure to create a guide specifically for people like sardon. |

Rust is the biggest bull**** excuse for spar that there has ever been outside of the classic "he delays so he has advantage" crap.
I could say that my dog jumped on my lap and spilled my drink on my pc and it would be more valid than "rust" that these people claim to have. You don't get rusty from spar, you think there's rust because you return and realize that you aren't as good as you thought you were, so the natural reaction is to blame father time. I've seen people who quit for a month, then return for 6 weeks, claiming they're 'rusty' the entire time that they're back. That is just ridiculous. No single person should believe that kind of excuse. |

An accent makes the video quite more interesting than a dull voice. |
