Colin, a new moderator.
 

Recently our Colin has upped his game by becoming a moderator here on the forums. However I've noticed something, and I'm gonna have to quote myself right here; This is not out of the blue, let me elaborate for a little bit. Here is a snapshot from a post deleted by C-man.

What does this look like to you?
To me it looks like Colin and GOAT aren't really fond of each other and Colin is using his new "powers" (which are useless in the real world, I might add) to show that. (Of course making it seem he's doing his "job" very well to the others).

This thread is open for discussion so go ahead and voice your opinion right here!

il say maybe collin isnt the kind moderator we are looking for, moderators need to be neutral when using powers,Take rufus as an example.

I think he's a good moderator, he discuss a lot with us and GOAT is kinda troll him so he needs to do that, otherwise many people would see that they can do that and would troll him often

Goat's threads and posts get deleted by other mods all the time.

The deletion rate of posts from user's like GOAT and Pac have increased probably 200%, always a good sign

Colin has been pretty helpful in the past, don't really see what bashing him gets you.

he seems good but I still want to know who and why was the avalonia thread censored out of forum and existence with no recollection of it?? p.s less censoring things @allmods a forum is where we have our opinions.

Let me explain something to you, I deleted his post above that for a valid reason to which he responded by posting another one attempting to aggravate me(which was off-topic as well) I'm telling him to smarten up for his own benefit, if he's constantly trying to troll and start arguments he's only digging a hole for himself.

I'm fine with a few users disliking me, that just means I'm doing something right.

I edit posts that have vulgar language and insulting/harassing content, I remove it and keep the content that is beneficial to the discussion, and replace vulgar language with ** in the middle letters.

I like Colin

I appreciate the love brotha, but using my name does more harm than good. The majority of the posters on this forum have fallen victims to my "trolls" whether it's thallen and his carrot story, or rufus not knowing what the reputation is intended for, and whatnot. Point being that people dislike me because they're former victims and are jelly of my master troll skills. :D

Colin is doing good, but for me personally, I like to read every comment. i would allow small/general conversations as long as the whole thread doesn't turn into a 10 page of people arguing each other.
He's been here around for a long time, so he definitely knows who's gonna start the troll and try his best to prevent all that.

No it doesn't. Sure you can be the mighty hammer of Thor and bring down the law on those filthy forum heretics, but thats not always the best way to go about moderation.

Take Latte for example, she's a great artist, but a god awful forum mod. But hey, she can draw people well so she doesn't need to do her job right or anything, she just needs to draw the occasional Graalian, and everyone will tell her how great she is and that its fantastic that she is a mod. That's without her taking the time to look at a single forum report.

Simons, my point is the people who are getting angry with me are the people who are the ones always starting fights and derailing threads, now they are mad because they can't do that anymore which is the reason I became a moderator in the first place

The good side of the community that uses the Classic section has already stated they like me and support it, what's the point of hiring a moderator that isn't suppose to do anything?

It's more of a benefit to the community by making it a more enjoyable place than to let the bad apples ruin it for everyone. I don't see how this is even debateable, I'm not sure how often you browse the Classic section but moderation is definitely needed there.

Now that pacman and the handful of people who blew up 10page arguments are gone, the censorship isnt quite as necessary. i dont mind threads going offtopic, especially if it becomes comical; but last week it got way out of hand.

and dont mind GOAT. No reason to delete his posts; only fools argue with trolls.:D

I agree with you and I don't mind it either if it's not harmful or for a stupid reason, I'm here to make sure that we don't experience anything similar to last week.

I didn't ban him, normal moderators do not have ban rights. Yes we were.

I find it offensive you used the strike tag on the word **********, as a moderator on /r/********** I'm going to have to show them your post and engage in a 5000 comment argument about how disrespectful you are.

But in all seriousness, yeah give it time, one of the reasons I've been having to delete posts lately is because people are posting irrelevant and spam replies regarding me being a moderator(in a negative way) and stuff related to that I think when they get use to the idea it'll tone down a bit and thing's won't be as bad. (hopefully)

I like that when mods say stuff. I don't like the way Colin says stuff sometimes. But that's just human stuff , not a big deal. 1st responder had a good post, may our judges be unbiased and seek justice.

I personally dislike that Colin guy, but who can blame him? He is like that.

Before judging him as a forum moderator, I'd expect to give him time to see how he performs his job.

Maybe slow down on the removal of posts because sometimes it does seem close to censorship. That said I think Colin is a fantastic mod, and is doing what his job is on the site. Maybe if you guys followed the rules more often and didnt bicker anout everything your posts wpuldnt be removed.

Let him do his job, honestly he's a really good moderating because he deletes really annoying posts and stops fights on threads which is what we've been needing. It hasn't even been a week, stop trying to create a new ********** on Colin hate.
